- Glasgow City Council has made nearly £50,000 from the Low Emission Zone during the first four months, new figures have revealed.
The local authority has issued 20,134 LEZ fines between June and the end of September, recovering a total of £478,560.
Julia Hartley-Brewer says: “This is spreading like a virus across the country.”

The air quality in Glasgow is always very high. Even in the winter on a bad day, the air quality is still well within acceptable limits. If a car has a legitimate M.O.T. then it is safe enough to drive around.

Councillor’s that are in charge of transport are usually cyclists who are anti car, so don’t expect anything to be done correctly for the motorists ! 🧐

It’s all to con the motorists out of more money. It doesn’t change the environment in any way.
It’s time people started voting in people that are going to serve them, instead of using them as a cash cow.
An people need to remind councils that they serve the people, instead of using the people as a cash cow.
Any billionaire or organisation that interferes in politics needs to be told, if you want change then get people in different areas to vote for you. If you don’t then do one.
An very soon people will just stop going into these areas, and the business in the town centres will close down and people will just move out to areas that don’t have these stupid cons.

They don't . You believe they do have powers over you . Councils are CORPorations (dead bodies) . A CORPoration is classed as a person = dead body. Why do you think you/us are called a PERSON?. Understand the words in law. (Black's law dictionary) Oxford words don't stand in court.

@leethornley2480 DVLA (GOV) is a con for trade only. We hand over our property "car" when we register it . Brown sold all our cars 2005 ish . The councils have more power if you want to concent but who do they work for US. They maintain the public property/highways. They all work for us as we the people created them, so we are the beneficiary's and executives they are the trustees. BUT they have done a 180 on us, so we are the trustees we pay out, and they become the beneficiary's . Where do you think the council tax goes? Abroad in their pension pot. It's all a con/fraud. They take you to private courts where you can't win under "the twelve presumptions of court " cannon 3228 I think. And you have no idea what I'm talking about. Good luck.

Years ago people joked , "They'll be taxing the air we breathe next !" ...this is just that..taxing the air we breathe. Sad isn't it.. a desperate money making scam. Maybe they'll build some 'old fashioned' but clean, trolley buses and trams with the proceeds!

parliament and the government need to step in and stop this tax ,it is against our freedoms ,the government just needs to tell councils that any funds gains must pass it on to the treasury not keep it ,if they did this they would drop such schemes like a hot potato
