I travelled by car into Glasgow for a few months, to get to work. My car was allowed under this stupid scheme. I think it is an absolute disgrace that we are being steamrollered over by counsellors who are taking control of us. Instead of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, I call it INEQUALITY and EXCLUSION. I have also complained to Glasgow City Council because of a recent advert which states that "only Black and ethnic minorities may apply". I accused Glasgow City Council of being 'racist' in my complaint. We have to push back before it is too late.
Exactly we do have to push back, but when people do the councillors etc just use "inclusiveness" in their wording and then we are back in the same debate again that the MPs etc are "helping others" when in reality it's designed to destroy people financially to the point of mental insanity, while the councillors and all get to walk freely completely oblivious to the damage they are committing on purpose.
As someone who used to regularly visit Glasgow and view the chaos on the M8 from my hotel room in the Hilton hotel, it’s madness that you have a LEZ in the immediate areas either side of this motorway - or does the only wind that blows in Glasgow ensure that any emissions are kept within the (ironically elevated) roadway - or more likely being blown up some MP rear end! So glad I retired and no longer have to endure this stupidity.

Think on an elderly person in a Glasgow hospital seriously ill, liable to be there for some time. His/her spouse/partner cannot afford to visit them because of the costs. That elderly person lies in hospital alone for weeks and then dies alone. I think ratepayers should insist that all local councillors should be made to use public transport rather than taxis. It would save a fortune and cut down on pollution. According to Glasgow Live Chris Stephen representing Glasgow South West charged the taxpayer £625.45 for taxis around the area in August 2021 ( 58 taxi journeys) and 40 taxis at £394 the month before. Maybe it’s time the taxpayer refused to pay for them to use taxis and make them use public transport since they seem to want everyone else to use it.

However if we buy road tax at the national rate then find we cannot use the road network in LEZ/ULEZ cities, we are not getting the full value of the product for which we have paid. Logically and legally, non-compliant cars should therefore be given a reduced level of road tax reflecting the reduced National road network available to them.
