I do not understand why they get a signal in the scoop, then dump some in their hand and get another signal in the scoop. How do they know they did not drop a small piece of gold in the hand and a second piece gave them the second signal. Do they not check the material they have dumped in their hand also? It looks like they just dump the material they put in their hand w/o checking. I see this from all the small prospectors in these videos.
