Welcome. We missed and appreciate your reviews. How nice that you completed your trip and I share that they are complex but very satisfying travel journeys. I have not been to Budapest, but I have been to the other destinations on your trips. Dresden is home to the oldest orchestra in the world that is still in operation...the Staatskapelle, I hope you have had the opportunity to hear it. Regarding the movie, it is surprising that the writer is the same as the other movies you highlighted...especially my favorite 2024 BRANCHING OUT. The plot of this movie was disastrous and the handling of the timing and sequences very improvised, your analogy of the director and the timing would honor the handling of the game to the former NFL Chicago Bears coach who was fired mid-season this year. My rating was 1.5 being generous. The TOP12 list of your Xmas Hallmark was too fast, I would have expected more details, I share that CROWN FOR XMAS is in my top5, but it is not my Top1, that title goes to ONE ROYAL HOLIDAY...could you share with us your twelve movies please.... Question: do you know XMAS WITH TUCKER (2013), FINDING XMAS (2013) & THE XMAS SECRET (2015)? Best wishes for 2025
Thank you, I would love to go back to Europe again and stay longer in one place to be able to take in more of the details, like a chance to hear the Staatskapelle, which I'm going to go look up now. And I love your analogy to the Chicago Bears coach! I have a feeling I gave this one a generous rating simply because of the writer. Crazy how Branching Out was written by the same person, isn't it? I have not seen those three XMAS you mentioned, but I'll see if I can find them streaming somewhere. And yes, that's a good idea. I'll post my top 12 list in a separate comment. Happy New Year 2025!
@@MagicalMovieClub The Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden or Staatskapelle Dresden was founded in 1548 and has not ceased to delight the world with music of the great composers, many composers premiered their works there (Richard Strauss for example of the most famous). Of the three movies, all of which I highly recommend, if you have to choose one it should be THE CHRISTMAS SECRET with the amazing Bethany Joy Lenz, I guarantee you will enjoy it very much and you will shed many tears at the end. That movie is related (they take place in the same town and share characters) with another very good movie called THE CHRISTMAS NOTE (one of the few Hallmark movies made by the exsoprano Jaime Lynn Sigler)...
1. Crown for Christmas, one of my favorites, but like the previous comment , One Royal Holiday is number 1. My first DVD purchase was Crown and I adore Danica McKellar, truly a treasure. Nonetheless Royal Date for Christmas and Cinderella Christmas Ball rank higher. David
How fun that One Royal Holiday is also your number 1! I was both excited and nervous to watch A Cinderella Christmas Ball because I had such high expectations for it and yes, it met them all. It was by far my favorite Christmas movie of 2024 and I'm going to have to rethink my list about whether it deserves a spot on there.
