Your voice can help end homelessness. If we do not fix the affordable housing crisis, homelessness will continue to get worse. Click here invisiblepeople.tv/getinvolved to tweet, email, call, or Facebook your federal and state legislators to tell them ending homelessness and creating more affordable housing is a priority to you.

@Heart Hexed The world doesn't work that way lady. Always blaming others for your problems, you seem like a child. The man in the video obviously wanted to be homeless. He almost tries to glorify it, by talking about being around amazing scenery. Many people chose to be homeless from lack of discipline. You're not the only, "homeless survivor" (lmao). It took me a long time to grow up and get my shit together. Your bohemian ideals are the same reason why so many people are homeless to begin with. No one is gonna help you, no can can help you besides yourself. I'm glad someone gave you a golden ticket out -let's hope you don't end up there again.

@@876vanred he said the Social Security agent told him he didn’t qualify to draw it. He claims that he’s been self employed all his life. A lot of people who are self employed don’t claim all their earnings to escape paying more taxes. Young people don’t think about being old, but you find yourself in trouble because they go by how much you made in 35 yrs time. Example...if you work only 30 yrs, the 5 yrs is tallied as 0 each yr. deducted and figured into your monthly payments.

@@876vanred Yes, agreed with you. The sooner he could get off the street, the better. For the other point, I don't know how to put it in a better way. If there is a chance in life, we might all take a chance to experience how a homeless person's life could be in a day or a week and what kind of struggle there could be. Sitting on the sidewalk and observing how some people could treat us or look at us. Then we might have a better understanding of what they might need and how they really feel. Losing one's house might not mean that one should lose everything as a human. It's just my bias. Thank you very much for your comments.

Interesting video - shows how complicated homelessness can be. When I was pretty young in the 70s you still saw the odd ‘tramp’ (UK term). It was a different thing to modern homelessness - they were a certain sort of self-contained character. When we asked about them back then our parents used to say that that had been a lot more in the immediate post-war years - many had returned from the war and they just couldn’t live inside anymore. They just had to keep wandering and thinking. They never asked for anything - apart from occasionally knocking on your door to beg some tea, milk and a sandwich - then they’d be off again. Dirk’s attitude and mannerisms sort of puts me in mind of them…

This guy sounds enlightened. I think Californian people are probably the nicest people in all of these docuseries that I have watched. Spread a bit of Freedom to your own country America. God bless these people, God bless Invisible People for showing the humanity in these homeless Soul's who are just you or I. xx

He’s a very wise man. Says some powerful truths. I hope this video opens up some discussions between him and local agencies. He could help make real changes!

smokers and peoples with mental problems have to go separate, but elders have to come first and those with no income should benefit from charity...when u make a video like this u should find a way to show the public how to reach to that person: some peoples could send him some money via western union...some peoples dont trust intermediaries...And me personal, I dont like to see peoples begging on the street and I dont trust them...watching this kind of living, I think they could live better in prison...the society provides better conditions for criminals than for this unfortunate neighbors...Shelters for them should be better than prisons...we should have based on income shelters and charity shelters for those without any income...

We need public policy to catch up with the tiny house movement. There are many organizations ready to jump on dignified tiny house villages for the homeless, but most places and cities don't allow them.

The person is saying will you listen a minute? Because the person with the camera won't acknowledge what he's saying, as a legit standpoint. He keeps trying to throw at him his standards on the homeless person and it's kind of annoying
