I know this video is 2 years old at this point but I just wanted to say thank you for this super simple video explaining how those mounting screws are different than what's included with the cooler. Wasn't sure how just 4 screws would retro fit my H100i to the 1700 socket but this cleared it all up for me. Appreciate you making small videos like this and you're still helping people two years later!
Thanks for clearing this up! Had my doubts that a simple set of standoffs was all I would need with my H150i.
Ive been searching everywhere for info about this and it was so complicated until you cleared it up. Big thanks!
Thanks dude! I ordered my cpu and cooler together as a promoted bundle and didn’t even think to look at the lga layout to make sure they’d work together. 🤦♂️
Thanks for sharing this! I have parts for a new build and the retrofit kit arrived today, but I wasn't entirely sure the standoffs alone would work, but you've alleviated my concerns!
Hey man thank you so much for making this video! Its Exactly what I was looking for!
THANK YOU!!! I've gotten so stressed over trying to figure this out, so glad I stumbled upon your video!
Ordered it on a Sunday, shipped Sunday and is coming this Tuesday! Can't wait
Outstanding video! Exactly the info I was looking for. Thanks!
Fair winds and following seas to all.
Thanks for this! the slight difference between the LGA 1700 stand offs compared to the LGA 1200/115X is so close...but I'm sure its significant. Thanks for showing that.
Appreciate the info. Was worried I'd need a new bracket too but they're unavailable. Thanks to you, I don't need to worry now!
Thank you. I just bought a bunch of parts after a 5 year break (noob all over again) and I was looking for this answer.
You are a legend! I saw that little kit on their website, and sure enough, is said, 'wtf.....' placing my $2.99 order now for new build. thank you
Thank you. I was confused as to why the kit was only the standoffs but it makes sense now. Hopefully this works for me!
Great video. Very Helpful and straight to the point!
Thank you! I wasnt sure if i needed these for my alderlake cpu but now im certain. Earned a subscriber.
@Duk3 damn, i already ordered them midway through my build. Guess i'll just wait since i paid for it. rip
@Duk3 ty for the information
Thanks man. Surely helped me out. Was just about to mount my corsair pump when I came your vid.
Just bought that very cooler and tower today along with a Z690 board. This video is exactly what I was looking for.
@@julienlauzon1106 Perfect. Was like 3 bucks from Corsair and took a week to get here. Once they got here I had the new build complete in 5 minutes. Everything is working out great. Running 12Gen intel and a 3070ti GPU. Nothing gets over 59c temp wise.
This was the exact information I was looking for. Just a quick FYI, the mounting kit is now 19.99$ Thank you Sean!
Not sure about you, but it's cheaper in some stores. In my local canada computers I picked it up for 5 bucks cad
Thank you for this short, but to-the-point video. I ordered the H115i RGB Pro XT and was concerned about this. The 11XX/1200 bracket will also fit in the LGA 1700 socket. I just needed the standoffs.
ciao, per favore puoi mandarmi un disegno di come hai fatto?grazie
Just the info I was looking for, Thanks!!!
Just what I needed , thank you !!
Thank you! Your video was essential for me otherwise I would have done a mistake. There is not much clear info around on this. Thanks again.
Oh thank god, Corsair and other site's explanation of the actual details of compatibility were super vague and this totally clears it up
Have an H60 120mm cooler been used on lga1150, before I watch your video I have no idea about this part, thanks for sharing 😁
Thank you! short, straight to the point video!
I had most outrageous experience with Corsair regarding this retrofit product... When LGA 1700 came out I purchased same kit and on time of purchase it was fully compatible with my H100i v2, when stand-offs came they didn't fit at all (too short), so I contacted the support and they basically said that I can go and F myself, they an't going to do anything to help me. No way I will spent a penny on Corsair products ever again... Funny how for 5$ due to dumb support and stupid policy company looses customer that already spent thousands on their products... Also turned out in my case that AIO actually fits with existing hardware and works perfectly fine without any adjustments or retrofit kit.
Actually I ordered them as well for my Corsair H115i and they were also way too short. I don't get what happened there...
same with my h60 2014 and still run great why waste 100$ for stupid nuts
Thank you for sharing this info. I just ordered mine.
Wow what a life saver. I was o we here freaking out. Now I just have to wait for shorter standoffs. My cooler isn’t on the list but I think the standoffs will work since a have a motherboard designed to support older coolers
Yes, this was helpful and I subbed immediately. Follow up question, so nothing in the capellix box is labelled as LGA1700, so can I use the included intel mount and get these stand offs, and I'm good to go?
Thank you very much for the vid. I was looking for what the difference in size was between the two standoffs.
exactly whatt i needed to hear, thanks!
It works on H100x too btw. And thanks for clearing it up
Great info really needed it!
great recap! thx
could you post a video showing how to mount the LGA 1700 cooler with this kit?
Thanks for the video, helped me to clear some doubts 👍
Appreciate this video. Thanks man!
this actually helped me alot, thankyou
Can you please measure up the standoff?
all we need.. pls
Thanks for clarifying this. Rebuilding with an i9-12900K from a four year old i7 LGA1151 and was wondering what to do.
Thanks for this info... I just bought a new H100X Elite and PC system. While all 3 types of Intel standoffs are provided, they all all in the same bag and not labeled in any way. There was no mention or instructions either in the box or even the product page website. I haven't built a full system since my 4790K so I was a bit at a lost as to which standoffs to use with lga 1700.
Thanks for the video!
Thanks this helped me a lot for my New pc build
just what I needed
I would love to see the actual measurements of the retro fit kit. I want to try to grind my 1151 mounts down since it's such a minute difference
Nice. I received the LGA1700 standoffs in my package and I bought my H100x at August 8th, 2022. Just to who's reading the comment section know it :). I don't know if the package are different among countries, but I'm from Brazil
Good video combined with your tshirt got you a sub sir
Thank you for the quick explanation and visual. Going through this now but the price of the kit is now $5.99.
now its 7.99
Does the LCD version come with the lga1700 kit or do I need to buy it too
thanks a lot for making this video :)
Good info and size comparison, thanks
Thanks for the video, it really helps. The kit is now $7.99 with at $9.99 shipping...better to just ebay the part number and get it cheaper there instead of ordering direct from corsair
my brother you save the day ! thanks alot
good video just what I wanted to see
thanks man ready to finally install my 12700k
Did it fit well? I need to know 😭
Why does the graphic image/picture of the retrofit standoffs from the Corsair website, make it look like the standoffs have an end with fatter, wider threads? The Intel backplate will only take the skinner end of the threads and the thumb screws only take the skinner threads too.
I have an Asus z690 board and h100i Elite capellix, tried old 115x and new 1700 standoffs and they are essentially the same as some other people have noted, about 3 threads different on both sides. I was very pleased and surprised that the old backplate was workable
Hi I’m doing a similar build are you saying this kit helped you with it? Sorry I just want to confirm prior to build day lol
no, I'm saying the "kit" which is just four standoffs, is not needed if you already have an intel backplate and the intel standoffs that come all (new) h1xxx units. I tried them both ( the old and the new) and there was no difference in snugness of tightening or cooling temps. Some people insist they must be needed but it's just not true
@@tulsaterry i switched from 9900k and z390 to 12900k and z690 last friday, used the same standoffs i used for 1151, didnt even think about the possibility of needing new standoffs, came across this just now but the temps and everything were fine, i will buy it just for the sake of "doing things right", but all in all i didn't see anything bad with the 1151 standoffs.
@@heeku_ better safe than sorry and congrats
@@tulsaterry for real bro, thanks!
Thx for verifying this. Corsair website doesn't make it clear on whether or not you need to order the whole kit for $15 because they don't clarify about the backplate compatibility.
Hello, it would be good if you could give the measurements of the screws, height, thickness and about how far the middle part that does not have a thread begins and how far it ends to be able to make some homemade screws since in many places that corsair kit does not arrive and they won't arrive :(
Got my LGA 1700 stand-offs today. The threads are a bit longer on one side than the other. Which orientation gets screwed into the back plate?
Just bought them on amazon bruh, thank you. Just ordered a full z790 upgrade from 10th gen, So I bought everything, DDR5 RAM, Motherboard, Processor. And did not take into account that my Corsair H100x wouldn't have been able to install on that mobo.
Thanks for the Info! Because The new pc is already orderd and i needed it!
Revivew: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐out of 5
This video was exactly the information I was looking for, thank you very much for explaining this in depth!
Had to subscribe! Short and to the point.
Hi, so I'm currently running a corsair h100x/i (dont know which one) on my i5 6600k (lga 1151?). Since I have the backplate and brackets, all I need are these 4 stand off's, correct?
Wish I had found out about this before I sat down to build it all and the AIO was the last thing I had to install....
Still waiting on mine (ordered from Corsair). Over a week now.
Thank you so much for that video
hello, thank you very much for your help with this video! I'm considering buying the corsair h100i elite capelix black that I want to put on an i5 13660 K and I wanted to know if the 2.99 screws kit is enough? or if I need the full retainer kit? I hope someone can help me because I have no idea what to do :/
Thank you so much !
Thank you!
I installed this kit with my Corsair H100i RGB PRO XT cooler on an Asus Z690 motherboard and the standoffs were not tight against the motherboard. They "wobbled" a little bit even though they were fully tightened into the bracket. Is it normal for the standoffs to be loose? My temps are ok but the I feel uneasy about this loose fit.
+1 For the standoffs length, We surely can order the retrofit kit but standoffs can easily be bought without shipping delays not to mention recent Corsair shortages... Sharing the length will surely attract more viewers.
A user on the corsair forums posted a picture showing it to be 22.25 overall length with a 10.45 mm body and an m3 thread
@@Z34_TR Yeah, i can confirm. In my case I mesured 10.40mm body from the standoffs i ordered since i couldn't find the info online. I did print 10.50mm spacer from simple calculations while waiting for the retrofit kit and it worked fine. I did post back with this valuable info elsewhere, forgot here... Still surprised about the lack of information on such a simple thing...
@@Louddub yeah man i hear you on that. The lack of info on lga 1700 coolers alone is just ridiculous. I have an h150i pro (discontinued model) and unfortunately the kit isn't compatible and the only lga1700 ready aio I know of is the msi and newer corsairs.
@@Louddub hello ekimoz, you still got the 3D file? I live in Morocco and I need to wait like a month. Thank you in advance
@@Louddub Hey, can i have the 3D file? i live in outside of US and unfortunately i can't order these standoffs, so i have to build it myself.
Sheesh, they’ve already started to hike up the price lol. Thanks for the explanation ordered mine today
Hi there! Indeed they have, they are right now going for 5.99$ and with taxes around 6.40$ (Without including shipping).
One question, from the moment you ordered your standoffs, how long did it take to come? Also I can still use my old intel backplate correct? I have the h100i XT PRO 240mm AIO.
How do you know which end of the standoffs to screw into mobo?
can you give us the messure standoffs info? please, I'm from México i can't get them anyway...
I have an H100i PRO RGB and ordered the 1700 standoffs but they are longer than the 115X standoffs that I already have and do not make good contact with the CPU. With the 1700 stnadoffs the cpu temp reaches 80 degrees C in idle. I used the old 115X for my 13th gen CPU and they work great keeping the cpu at about 40 degress C in idle. Can anyone explain why? Is there somehing wrong that I do?
So, with these 4 stand-offs, I can use my current 115X bracket that I'm using for a 9700K?
Clarification; so I can use the bracket for a LGA1700 board.
Thanks for this. This that a Corsair 4000x
Thanks Man
So would i have to get a ELITE Series Intel Retention Kit ? for my lga 1700? if im using a Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix for my 14700k?
If working for H150i RGB PRO XT. Does it work for the 'not XT'? ('H150i RGB PRO')
Thanks!
What’s the mm measure of the middle part of the standoffs?
so all that i need for mi H100i Pro Xt Icue 240mm to work with a LGA 1700 is that kit?
Thank you for this video. I was building my PC today and ran into that issue. I didn't know I had to buy those for my i7-12700k. So now my build is on hold. Hopefully Corsair is quick to ship them out. The price went up to 5.99 but free shipping so that's nice. I just wish these were in the box.
Ordered mine last week and they have yet to process it.
@@kinraze I just ordered mine last night. I can't finish my PC build until I get those screws. I'm surprised they didn't come in the box.
Ordered mine on 13th but can't order CPU till pay day anyway thankfully lol hopefully they get it out before then!
I ran into the same issue. I swear I saw that they updated to include 1700, but I guess that was some other brand. I ended up finishing my build with the box cooler. No overclocking until these standoffs arrive!
Dudes I'm in the same boat. This is the last thing I need to start my build. Ordered 2 weeks ago and item is still processing. I checked everywhere online and I think we just have to wait 😞
I am hoping if you guys know if there is a possibility to use the Intel Laminar RH1 cooler on a LGA 2011-3 format ? Maby a converter or bracket changer ?
Спасибо чувак. Очень помог.
Huh, I had no idea. I didn't really notice any cooling issues with my i9 using the LGA115x screws, but I guess I'll order this kit just to be sure.
I just mounted mine without knowing there was a kit because it appears to mount perfectly well with the exisiting standoffs. It makes firm contact and isn't loose enough to slide around at all.
Did either of you happen to notice bad cooling performance with the 115x screws? Assuming no overclock. I just ordered my kit and there’s no telling how long it’ll take and I don’t want to put my whole build on hold until then 😬
support for corsair h150 rgb model
is there ?
Do I need this kit fir my corsair h150i rgb proi? I'm upgrading to asus z690e and i7 12700k.
I ordered mine almost a week ago. Corsair say's there is a 2 week shipping delay. Ugh!
Does any1 know if this will work on the H60i?
Huh. I expected 1700 to be much different than 1200 (because of the new architecture, shape, TDP and whatnot), and it doesn't exactly seem so. Overall, doesn't seem all too bad as far as installation goes.
Just got my h150i elite today and it now comes with lga 1700 standoffs
mantei o meu I7 13700k na z690 com o meu H100X. Não tive que trocar peça nenhuma, o backplate serviu certinho, e meu parafusos do LGA1151 tambem serviu certinho. Não precisei trocar nada e nem comprar nada.
Thanks for this comment - I'm waiting for my 13700k and mobo to be delivered and was concerned.
perfect thankyou
I scrubbed through the comment section and through replies, still quite unsure. In my country, I am not getting any recourse to get the retrofit kit, not from the reseller and definitely not from corsair. Should I just use the included 15xx standoffs or will I be in compromising cpu contact. I don't plan on overclocking, just playing AAA titles and a bit of coding and video editing
I bought that exact cooler and have a pro z690a. Will there actually be a problem if I use the computer until I get the retrofit kit
I never tried the original ones myself on an LGA 1700 board, but others in the comments said it worked ok. YMMV
I'm using the H170i with an i9 12900k with the kit for the 1200, and the temperatures are very good. With the cpu stress Aida 64 and cinebench the peak temperature is 80 degrees. I ordered the 1700 kit, when it arrives I will modify the comment to tell you if there is an improvement.
Update ?
Update?
any improvement?
