A researcher at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine has discovered how coronavirus causes harmful and escalating inflammation. KDKA's Dr. Maria Simbra has more.
If you have this rash you want it to dry out. Use hydrocortisone cream. Avoid scented lotions & harsh soaps. Use sunscreen & avoid heat when possible. Use an oatmeal bath but not in hot water. Take cooler showers. Limit or avoid histamine releasing foods, caffeine, alcohol, etc. Take an OTC antihistamine like benadryl, Allegra. Wear lose fitting clothing. Women don't wear a bra when possible. Sleep in cooler temperatures. Use a cool compress like ice cubes wrapped in wash cloth several times a day. Limit/Avoid anything that stresses you out! Stress will make hives worse as our immune system is directly connected to the nervous system. Maybe try a low stress/impact exercise like yoga. This is what all I've found out as I also have this terrible rash! I had to do my own research because my doctor was no help at all. I realize we still don't know a lot about this virus but she didn't even explain anything to me about covid rashes. Didn't see me in person. Because I had covid we did a telemed call & I took photos of my rash. Even after being negative, she is still no help. I was completely on my own. I had depression/anxiety real bad during my acute illness phase because I didn't understand what was happening to me. I'm in my post acute covid stage now & all my other symptoms are gone except this rash. Which actually got worse in the post acute phase. I'm documenting my entire experience since my doctor isn't because I wanna learn more to help others going through this. I'm taking photos of my rash & experimenting with what works & what doesn't for me. During my acute phase, it started as little heat bumps on my arms & abdomen. It gradually spread from there to all over & now includes itchey hives. It burns when it gets irritated. I tried to put coca butter on it at first & it burned for about 10-15 mins straight. A lot of lotions will piss it off! Do not stress over the rash if you have one. Your body will heal it eventually. You only have the rash because your body is responding to the threat. Your immune system is in max overdrive. Take vit D daily 5,000 units. Zinc, vit c, & a daily multivitamin to help it along. Also a baby aspirin to thin the blood to help prevent clots.
@@jasminesimpson7949 It seems to go away on its own but the timeframe depends on the person's immune system. Just had covid for the second time with no symptoms at all, when I first got it I only had stuffy nose and that was it. This time some skin rashes showed up in my stomach and my back after the peak of the infection, and I tested negative a day prior. I've had two shots of Pfizer and one shot of Sinovac which seemed to do the job as far as of preventing severe symptoms, but just like a flu we'll still catch it and due to the immune system radical response to the infection our body may accidently damage itself and this rash is one of the ways it does it. Mine is almost gone by now after two weeks but like I said it does vary a lot depending on the person and severity of the infection. I got some vitamin C, D and Zinc supplement along with some sun exposure in the affected areas. Under your armpit the hashes may be a little stronger next to the lymph nodes.

Hi. Been dealing with that for 3 months. Doctor said it was an immune response to the second booster. It happened exactly 12 days after. My dermatologist suggested i quadruple the amount of antihistamines so now I'm taking 2 Zyrtec in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. Itchiness has disappeared. But it does bring on drowsiness. Hope that info helps.
i dont know. i recovered from the omicron jan 10th. all went well until 12 weeks later. i went through telegen effluvium for a month but then my hair finally stopped falling out after a month and its growing back ok. but after that i have been getting dry patches and skin rashes on my body since may 10th. to this day on July 1st 2022 i still have rashes all over my body since. what s hould i do after all this time when i thought it would have went away by now. am i dying?
I got urticaria triggered by Covid and it’s been 3 and a half months now and it doesn’t want to go away! Anyone else experience the same and if so, how long did it take to go? I’ve been on prednisolone and also high dose H1 and H2 antihistamines. I’ve seen so many drs and I just need this to end!
I been dealing with this goin on a year now after covid. i have to take allergy medicine every day or two because the itching will get bad. I get hives if something abrasive rubs against me..They only relief i get from all symptoms is by taking the meds (Hydroxyzine)..

Thank you for the responses. I’m on month 7 of dealing with this and will say that I’m about 90% better so feel confident it’s fizzling out. I was taking 4 (Telfast) antihistamines per day and have been switched to 4 Bilaxten per day and have had a few days pass between flare ups which is amazing to get mini breaks. I hope this will be gone within 2 months and wish u all relief as well. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I’ve been having a rash problem since I got my Covid shot and I’ve been having it on and off I’ve been going to doctors and now I have to go to a dermatologist like what is this
I got my rash after getting the second shot back in March. Been to doctors and dermatologist, one says I have eczema other says no. Started out as red dots , then red like rash, very itchy. Turned purple and very slowly going away on one leg.
I'm dealing with the same except my dermatologist said it was likely due to the second booster. I got my first rash exactly 12 days after. She said it's taking about 6 months for it to go away.
I got Covid like rashes all over my body after the second dose of the mRNA vaccine. I wonder if this super-antigen region is also present on the spike proteins produced from the mRNA
@@LAOBASS my rash went away in a week or so. the itchiness was pretty uncomfortable so I took some antihistamines and felt better. Hope you get better soon!
This is what I have! After getting covid, my skin started developing red dots, I thought it was from an allergic reaction to fruits of pain killers I took, but I quit those for 3 days and the red dots started spreading more and more each day. My whole mid body is covered with rash now and spreading through my neck and arms. I really hope it's not long term, my legs are purpleish too, looks like dead meat x0
I broke out in a rash after getting the 2nd Pfizer vaccine. When I went to the first dermatologist, he was going to admit me to the hospital. I had alligator like skin. Horrible. He instead put me on prednisone for a month which slightly reduced the hives. I've been to 7 dermatologist and 2 allergists. No one knows what to do. I'm now trying ozone therapy and IV with chelation and I believe that I'm seeing improvement but my skin is still riddled with red marks all over and purplish veiny streaks which I didn't have before. Is there anyone out there who knows what to do? Is there somewhere where all of us can unite to try and find some answers to this?
I’ve had this rash now for 6 months and it’s really affecting my life, I can’t sleep at night with the itching, I’m considering taking ivermectin suitable for human consumption, has anyone tried it or had luck?
Ivermectin was 'created' for human consumption---animals using it came later. Thats why its discovery led to those doctors/scientists getting the Nobel Prize. That prize isn't given out for animal medicines. Just FYI.
