Everybody knows who lil rob is. People that don't even know what chicano rap is have heard of him. To be the face or king of the genre you need to have that effect on the masses not just the chicanos. The song summer nights alone is recognized by the whole world. You can't say these facts about any other chicano rapper. Also...I find it disrespectful that Mr shadows name doesn't get thrown in on these conversations. He's one of the most talented chicano rappers out of all of them.

Lil Rob is the face of chicano rap for me, not only does the dude have traditional standards but he holds himself to a degree of humbleness throughout his music. The thing is you'll notice that you don't see in other chicano rappers are the fact he never changes his style whether it's his rap style to the way he dresses so he stays loyal to his how is profiled. He's basically the mexican version of what snoop dog should of been in the first place.

Don Cisco the Frisco Mac was the best lyrical street rapper of all time in my book. He had classic albums and mixtapes. He was a freestyle king. He was apart of the Dogg pound and Thizz Entertainment and was close friends with Max Dre , Miami etc.. He’s the most featured Mexican rapper. He has written songs for people and wrote full albums for Goldtoes and Frost. He tried to bring the North and South together before it was in style and got flack from both sides for it. But he was all about the brown. He could rap in Spanish just as good. He did music and shows with Tupac and the Outlaws. Was on the Friday soundtrack. He was in the Dopest Chicano super group Latino Velvet. He had the best songs on those albums. If he wasn’t so in the streets and in and out of Jail he would have been way more commercial. He also had videos on MTV and BET. He was working on an album with Roger Troutman before he passed. His group the 151 YGZ were sick to.. Don Cisco from Frisco to Longo. He was ahead of his time. Excelsior District Legend. That song he did a few years back LET EM ALL FEEL IT is a banger to. Put up any song and I got a Cisco song that’s better.

Lil Rob without a doubt, He is the face of Chicano Rap and the one that is the most successful, surpassing A lighter shade of brown and Frost.
Royal tits stole from Mr Shadow, Lil Rob and many other artists. In Lil robs song "Somebody call the cops", he addresses how Royal tits used his personal bar code in all the CD's he would put out for other artists, so when you bought a Lil Rob CD, it would scan as a sale for Royal T. This is why Rob broke off from him and dissed him.
This is why Royal tits is bragging about "Numbers" saying "numbers don't lie". He may have a high output of numbers but they were a combination of many peoples CD's, funny how if you just counted his own sales....it probably didn't sell shit.
So yes the face of Chicano Rap is Lil Rob. a great runner up would be Mr Shadow aside from frost and A Lighter Shade of brown.
