I remember buying FC2, a Saitek Stick, and a “top of the line” ROG laptop powered by a 460m GPU before going to USAF tech school (to learn how to crew 16s). I also had the A-10c. I remember watching the promo vid for Vegas/A-10c when it was Linkin Park in the background. We all wished there was a 16 module. Now I’m winding down crewing 15s and all I fly is still.... the 15. Lol. Thanks for all you do for the community and for paying painstaking homage to these fighters.
Very nice - any chance the heat mapping can be sorted out a bit. Right now bushes and trees are on par with moving engines. They should be no warmer than a muddy field

I noticed recently that the brightness of the NWS green light is sometimes turned down/off, have you checked that? IF the steering actually works then it's the light brightness. If the NWS doesn't actually work then check your key binding, perhaps something got screwed up?
Hmm. I'm not getting the crosshairs on my mav seeker page, just a small cross. It also won't lock anything when I put the cross on it but will occasionally just randomly lock something that isn't my reference target.

hey Matt or anyone watching this video .... I need help to why my F16 Viper NWS does not turn on during ramp start. Initially when I first create a new mission and drop a viper on the ramp, I go through the startup procedure that I have been doing for the past 6 months with no issues with the NWS. However once I exit the mission and close down my PC for the night the next time I jump back into the same mission and ramp start the F16 the NWS WILL NOT turn on. It never fails if I make any adjustment to the mission like time change or even assign a new callsign , when I do a ramp start its the same old story ... NO NWS. And even the MFDs are dimly lit , this never happened before the viper upgrade. Can anyone please share with me why my NWS wont come on please.
In boresight mode my reticle on my HUD and the reticle on the mfd does not line up and therefore it's hard as hell to get a lock on targets, any suggestions? (no tgp btw if that helps, just the mavs camera)
Neither can I. In my case, the maverick won't follow the TGP correctly. BTW to align it you have to turn ground jettison on and master arm to simulate.
Wags back in my military years we had an armament team which utilized scopes and fixed targets for accurately bore sighting aircraft weapons stores/mounts. Why would pilots be required to complete this maintenance procedure? Just curious. Gordon
Great vid. It's interesting that in the hornet you cannot change FOV on the pod with hotas even if the TGP is SOI when there is a MAV loaded, but in the Viper, you can.

What's happening in the Hornet is that the Mav always gets priority over the TGP for the Expand button, regardless of SOI. Supposedly that's accurate (if dumb as hell).

Yes there may be some bugs here and there and less stable (not an issue most of the time) but by being on the Open Beta you get access to functions and modules much faster, if that is your thing. You buy each module you want from either the ED site or Steam if that's the way you want to go. Newer modules don't have the same discounts as older ones when there is a discount btw but if you feel like it it can be worth the wait. The Viper has come very far from the beginning though it's really a beautiful module to fly now. WIlbuz

There is no advantage. It is a requirement. It's something to do if you want to be able to find your targets with the TGP and then shoot a maverick on them.
@@TuneboyR This needs to be done if you want to use the TPOD to aim the mavericks (without needing to do any corrections, just TMS up and fire). It's particularly useful when using H and K mavs, since it provides very accurate force correlate locks, so you can fire at max range and actually hit the targets.
Man, sure would be nice if the Targeting Pod would work, not get stuck on a steer point, and only show a black screen upon being loaded after a landing...
Colin, I know exactly what you are talking about. Try this: 1. In the TGP display, press CZ to lock tgp to steerpoint. 2. Uncheck CZ and move cursor a tad bit. 3. TMS Up short for a point track 4. Hold TMS Aft long (tgp resets to steerpoint but remember to keep holding so that you command the TMS Aft long) 5. Press SP and the tgp will go to snow plow with the bomb fall line and everything
I just ran a test. In the Hog you don't actually boresight the mav seeker, you boresight the HUD wagon wheel. The Mavs are perfectly aligned with the IFFCC
@@Jarlerus Depends on what you mean by boresight Mavs, if you mean return them to looking straight ahead then yes, you can do that in the A10C. On the F16, since the update, you can slave the Mav to the TGP, but the Mav might be mis-aligned with the TGP. So you put the TGP on a target and the Mav is looking nowhere near it. This procedure is to align the seeker of the Mav with the seeker of the TGP.

well this doesn't makes sense at all if in real life is how it works because its a pain to sync the tpod with the maverick seeker, because in the end you have to lock twice the same target and sometimes mav seeker is pretty off target , sometimes i end up shooting the wrong target in the heat of the moment with so many close ground targets, if this procedure you have shown here is a work around that will sync all mavs with the tpod, ok i will try it, sometimes i see myself just using the weapon display page and ignoring the TGP because ends up sometimes being easier, anyways Matt tx a lot man. I see this video is 3 years old so...is this really how it works in real life or you guys are trying to fix it, i know slave is a thing of the past but here would be nice to see it working , the TGP works way better to lock ground units with a dedicated zoom the different contrasts to choose from, but then when you look to the weapon MFD and is way off target and i need to re adjust the lock, sometimes is very frustrating , you have multiple ground units etc.. , still love this plane and is a pleasure to fly it. Another thing, is normal the amount of de-compensation you have in roll when you drop a weapon from the left or right wing, its sometimes brutal the amount of trim needed to compensate and level the flight, cheers and have a great year guys, i belieeeeeeve in youuuuu(south park)
It would have been better if you just said what boresight means, I get it has to do with alignment using the target as a reference but it could have been clearer.

After the recent update, ‘part of group in zone’ and ‘group dead’ in ME are not working at respawned air units. And it cause huge problems in our dedicated servers T.T...pleeeeeeese check and fix it~~T.T Anyway, thx for the amazing modules and many get betters~

I don't quite understand why the F-16 is the only aircraft that requires Maverick boresighting. Seems like a needless complication for the sake of "realism".
@@agamemnonn1 well it can be realistic or it can be simulated, a simulation is an exhaustive attempt at being a replica of the real thing, a realistic interpretation is not the same amount of effort or even intent most likely.

Forgot Master Arm Switch should be set to "Simulate" not armed as you usually do this enroute on things you don't want to die

This makes H and K mavs accurate enough to hit at max range (using force correlate on TPOD designated tracks) 😉

I wish I had the same game that Wags has. My Mavs act like they are on Bath Salts. Almost nothing in game functions like what I just watched.

Just to clarify, boresighting on the ground is a no go because you need a reference object roughly 7nm away.

The H version is bugged. It dosent show the lines and when in pre you cant slew it but when in vis and bore you cant slew the tgp
Lines show fine here with the H and you should only be able to slew the TGP in PRE mode, that is accurate. Thanks

BGST won't highlight for me like it does in this video. I'm doing this on the ground ready on the runway with a tank on the taxiway.

Hasn't the ability to boresight mavs existed since the original A-10C? I've never used it but I believe it's always existed.

Mavs will follow TGP without that procedure, but doing that will increase accuracy of following TGP
