Why have a giant shield on command when you can do slightly more damage?
@@ShlnMonk1985 for sure, just this one in particular really got me. Against Tracer (Blink), Li-Ming (Teleport), Lunara (Trait), Valeera (Sinister Strike) and Valla (Vault) literally every single one of them can dodge the flamestrike easily and the shield would have helped against the burst. It's just mind-boggling but eyyy that's a quick match for you!
@@lgkninja let's not forget that you also get the mana to actually *use* your abilities.
kael is pretty mana hungry. the shield is amazing, but even if you didn't need the shield, I'd still say that most of the time you should take the talent just for the mana.
@@sharkforce8147 Kael won't have mana issues if he dies 3 seconds into every team fight! See, it's actually a really smart plan to take Convection.
Ghoulish Daniel is one of my absolute fave heroes. Complete self-sustain. No need for any help from any weaklings!
I haven't played HotS for 5-6 years but still it is an amazing experience to watch you play.

I felt so bad for the Maltheal this game, that was an awful team for them to go against. Gul'dan is my second most played hero and I think the reason Demonic circle has a lesser win rate could be that it's often picked when things are already going badly, and you need that extra escape ability just to stay alive. If you're already slaying, it's not that necessary unless you want to be extra tricksy
True, Demonic circle is often picked when you die a lot and need the escape.
It's also worth to be mentioned that both the ult upgrades are extremely good.

Yeah but mal could have gone for a ranged mist build with increased teleport range and possibly stuck with Kaelthas a lot to follow up after a stun. Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.

Pally, I gotta say, I'm not exactly sure how I found your channel, but I am glad that I did. You are an angel possessing the body of a man, and that's a pretty significant phrase coming from me and my severe lack of faith with humanity. I've watched every HotS video you've put up so far, and I wish I had a computer so I could attempt playing a few rounds with you on this game; I used to play LoL back before the release of Xerath, and haven't had a computer since due to pawning it, but nobody ever forgets how to ride a bike, unless it's due to some serious thing. I've played several mobas for the phone with my personal favorites being Vainglory and Wild Rift. I've watched enough of your videos I could pick up HotS pretty quickly, I would just need to get a little practice using a computer again.
I do have a question though... Would you be willing to try build ideas by someone who has never played this game?

I love Gul’dan. Hands down one of my favorites if not the most favorite. Though I can’t say I have much love for hots anymore. The losing streaks because of bad teams are just unacceptable.
Man that was a really smooth game. I usually always go Flame build because I just like to constantly vomit damage, but Drain build actually looks insanely effective, I'll have to try it out soon.
With the W reset talent if you Q out of it and the Q kills the target it still resets the cooldown. Makes it really good for healing in wave to guarantee a reset.
Hey pally, i really do hope you read this but i just wanna say that i myself enjoy all of these new hots videos even if they would be the same old same old, but its because its your humour and your personality that i like to watch aswell how you play the charecter, so if possible, keep it up and dont stress too much,pls and get a good night sleep someimes

"These comps couldn't get much worse" excuse me, I had a game earlier today where aba and murky were on my team while the enemy team had butcher, diablo, stitches etc, nothing but melee and ranged! Mostly melee. So every team fight was a 3v5.

The thing about winrates is that the reduced winrates from taking gateway isn't necessarily BECAUSE of taking gateway. It's that people take gateway when they aren't already hard stomping, thus more likely to lose. If you're winning hard enough that you don't have to play safe then you're much less likely to lose.

Drain life Gul'Dan is basically a bruiser, it's weird and wonderful.
Weirdest solo lane matchups I've had have been me as Alarak against Drain Life Guldans. Alarak wins that matchup every single time. It's actually weird that has happened to me multiple times tho.
So glad to see good but ignored builds see light. Horrify is great but Reign is great when used well too. Especially with Darkness Within on a building Reign is devastating.

Funny how this match-up made Gul'dan the team's pseudo-tank, while poor Malthael just had to keep dying every time he engaged. Drain Life build is really strong. Last time I played, I think I ran the Q build a bunch and did pretty well with it, but that was a fair while ago.

My buddy I play HOTS with likes to run drain life guldan, and rarely runs anything else lol. They have pretty good luck with it.

I don't really play hots anymore but decided to give this build a try cuz Gul'dan is one of my favorite HoTs heroes and in the beginning I was dying to Valeera in my game but once I hit 20 I was just bullying her every time she came at me. It was nice
Do wins/losses on ARAM affect the win/loss percentages listed online? Because drain life builds on ARAM do really well. that extended reach and slow from Guldan kills.

I know this isn't the right video but a few Subnautica videos ago I got the sea dragon mixed up with the sea emperor because my buddy forgot to mention they existed until I mentioned to him I wasn't sure how she got into those areas.
Edit:guess I should mention I commented on the video saying she just wanted to talk but the sea dragon wasn't interested in talking at all lol
Always pick darkness within to max out that drain damage. Incredible if you take rain of rng too.

Rain of destruction has a high win rate depending who you play against and with whom you play. If you play vs super mobile team, like this one and where one high dps mage benefits of players standing still, its probably better to go with horrify.
Not all data is useful data. The 11% difference in win rate between the final talents could be interpreted differently. Perhaps players in a dominant position take the ultimate upgrade frequently while players feeling pressured take the defensive talent. The difference in win rate therefore would speak more about how teams performed prior to the level 20 talent choice than it does the utility of either talent.
I never really understood the level 4 talent tree for him. The drain life cool down reset on kill is practically the same as the harvest health from a minion but without charges, at a slower pace. They both feel like the same thing
The level 4 tier is all about health management. If you aren't built into it, and/or the enemy team can really punish a drain, than the consume isn't a terrible choice, both charges is roughly 40% of your health back instantly, also can instantly remove catapults. I would say more of the strength of the drain talent is the cooldown reduction, if you get the whole channel off you are at a 4 second cooldown. Coupling that with the absurd range and the slow from channeling on someone is what makes it rather lethal in fights where they need run away, which rain helps with.

I don't know why they didn't make Rain of Destruction hit in a set pattern yet. Dealing damage over a wide area is fine, Hyperion is proof that such a concept can easily meet the criteria for a "fine" ult, but the randomness makes it awful.
Hey HotS team, just take the RNG out of the RNG of Destruction and everything will be fine. Make it a set pattern a good Guldan player can memorize and use to their advantage, may even cut the projectile damage in half but double the projectile density. This ultimate can be good, I swear, but it needs to lose the randomness first.

People are still playing HoTS? No flame but isnt this game dead cause the devs updated hogger and then quit.
