To be honest my favorite lineup was with Trey and Richard a lot of people gave Richard Brunelle shit because he sounded like trey when he plays solos but you can tell when Richard is playing because he offered melody in an evil sounding the way
What I 've learned through the years is to "decrypt" the influence of individual musicians in albums by listening to the whole discography first and compare the musical changes when lineup changes. In this case there is a reason that from Covenant album onwards the songs are riff-based, simpler (with less music drama imo) than on the first two albums which resemble more the classical music attitude, are more composition-oriented with far more complex structures and melodies. Finally, what I want to say is RIP Richard Brunelle, you played a big part on MA music and the first two masterpieces wouldn't be the same without your contribution. Great playing by the way, I believe some details are not exactly as I hear them in the album (I learn songs by ear too) and are covered by the amount of distortion but not a problem as the whole picture is where it should be. Well done.
Yep, totally agreed, just look at how the music of Death progressed as the different musicians rotated in and out of that band. And thank you for recognizing Richard Brunelle's contributions, he was great.
Yeah, but you could chalk up changes in the composition and playing style to things like complacency, commercialism, alcohol abuse, aging and so forth as well. Or maybe just overall personal preference. Hard to say. Happens with a lot of bands honestly, all of the above that is.
Awesome back door bragging bro. You taking credit for something like that, wow. You're fucking clueless obviously and couldn't decrypt your way out of a wet paper bag.
This is awesome!! Would loveeee to see some more Death covers I saved all the ones both of you have done on Death which also helped me learn some of the riffs I was having trouble with!!
Dude that was totally awesome, totally gives you such a respect for Morbid Angels excellent songwriting skills too, seeing your hands perfectly play those riffs like that man. Way to go, Bravo
Hey man! If I made a high quality cover of that album would you watch? I learn everything by ear so it would be accurate!! Considered dead is one of my favorite so it would be a pleasure doing a video like that.
Kapoios Kapou Cool! Expect it soon on my channel. Would you like to see it in parts or all at once? I’m trying to cater to one subscriber at a time so let me know man! \m/
@@no.mids.brando6458 Lol if it were up to me I'd choose inoculated life. But tbh you aint gonna grow your channel covering old school death metal, sorry man but nobody listens to that stuff except for us maniacs \m/
Kapoios Kapou LOL you’re right unfortunately. However I’m trying to be the successor to the biggest osdm cover channels on UA-cam; Danny cynic and jolyon dagon. They both stopped uploading regularly especially poor Danny who has tendonitis. There videos still get 1k+ views so I’m looking to cater to those fans. The end goal is a platform to release my originals. Sub to me for inoculated life as well as other Gorguts covers very soon \m/
altars of madness is morbid angels' first album, in the description you said second. great playing btw, I have respect for people who can duplicate masterpieces like this and play every note so perfectly
What I wanna know is how u managed to keep that jackson floyde rose in tune after those insane dives and pull ups, I got a ferrari red js32 kelly, and my bridge is suprisingly stable for how much I paid for the guitar but it's not stable enough to keep the g and b string in tune after some heavy pull ups and dives. Everything else for the most part stays virtually in tune for the most part. I'm assuming u did those takes separately and had to retune it every time you went ham on the whammy bar
@@derekobs9688 definitely more painful ;) about solos, unusual postions at high speed and fast whammy bar action so in my case it was a long way for the brain and the fingers to capture the fine details but after a while...
@@JolyonDagonShreds I could imagine haha, I always thought of this album to be the pinnacle and the most forward thinking album of 80s osdm.., what would you say are the top 3 osdm albums from the 80s in general in terms of compositions and overall musicmanship? My top 3 picks are this, Leprosy and Consuming impulse.., hbu?
You said you didn't use tabs? wtf... you must have an ear for music then to pick up all the riffs and licks. Some are more obvious than others, but still, maybe you studied live performances too? wicked shredding, sounds like music that ancient Babylon would approve of.
Great job! One of my favorites! Would appreciate it if you checked out my covers and subscribe if you like them. Looking forward to more of your videos.
No doubt Altars and Blessed are brilliant but Formulas and Heretic are sorely underrated. There’s a frenetic energy to many of the songs that dwarf the earlier compositions. Trey will always be held in the most high regard in my book.
I know this comment is 2 years old, but I just wanna say that you are absolutely right about Formulas and Heretic. Trey is a master, the greatest composer in metal in my eyes, bar none 🌋
