Simple really Paul said that the COMING of Jesus Christ and the RESURRECTION of Gods Children precedes the Harpazo we call the rapture! The COMING of Jesus and the RESURRECTION of the Dead PRECEDES the harpazo! Blessed and Holy are all that Partake in the First Resurrection is what Jesus said to all of the Churches! Paul himself said that he attained to be in the RESURRECTION!
I used to hold a post tribulation view, but now I believe in a pretribulation. Revelation 3:10 was key for me and the Lord corrected my theology. However, I do believe there will be and is already a synogogue of Satan, hiding in Israel, preparing to deceive the world after the rapture. They are mentioned in the previous verse Revelation 3:9. Not to focus on this, but I'm curious if anyone else has any insight on this.

Jesus said to pray we are found worthy to escape all these things (that's coming to everyone who dwells on the earth). Luke 21:35-36 It seems the Church of Philadelphia is found worthy to escape OUT OF THE TIME of the testing. It also seems the 24 elders and the 4 beasts were found worthy to escape, too.

The idea is NOT to have strength to ENDURE these things THEN stand before the Son of Man, but to have what is needed to FLEE AWAY FROM THESE THINGS and stand before the Son of Man INSTEAD. Because it is coming ON ALL WHO DWELL ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH. FLEE, and Stand before the Son of Man so that it doesn't come on you.

I was told that Roman Catholics do not believe in the second coming of Christ. One told me off for saying Christ was coming again, told me it was a load of nonsense and that was a Catholic priest.
context here in the whole chapter he is talking about the resurrection of the dead, and we know that happens on the last day, John 6 -40 is just one of many scriptures that speak of the resurrection being the last day, there are non that I can find speaking of the resurrection prior to that. He is telling the church what will happen if you are still alive when Jesus returns, since it was unclear, at first he was only talking about those dead, and notice they get there glorified bodies before those that are alive. MEaning that the church that has died for christ all through out history have not yet come to life, Revelation 20:4 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. So we see the pre tib theory says that the church all are resurrected at the rapture prior to the tribulation, yet we have scripture here saying they are still in heaven in soul form not in resurrected bodies. lol, the Church isn't "resurrected from the dead." The Church is not dead. The Church is the First BORN FROM THE DEAD. Colossians 1:18 The resurrection at the last day is talking about the 2nd resurrection of the dead from Revelation 20:5. This is the only resurrection the Jews know about, and it's from Daniel 12:2. It's also the only resurrection that has both good and bad servants who will be judged by their works. This is after the millennium. This is not the rapture. The 1st resurrection of the dead (Revelation 20:4) is only those who came out of the tribulation. This is also not the rapture. My question is, that we will be raptured from God's wrath, but when is that? There's the tribulation, and the great tribulation. Is God's wrath a part of the tribulation or does His wrath begin at some point in the great tribulation?
*All* of the 7 year tribulation is God pouring out His wrath and the Church isn't appointed to God's wrath. We'll miss all of it, thank God! Starting in Revelation 6:1, it's the Lamb of God, Jesus, God the Son, Who opens the first seal. So all the judgements are coming from God. The second 3 1/2 years is known as the "Great Tribulation" because the judgements are so intense.
R Johnson, it specifically says that God's Wrath is poured out in the 7 Bowls, which is right after the great tribulation ends and right before the second coming.
According to 1 Thessalonians 4:16, the dead in Christ rise first. The change of living believers cannot happen before all who will die in Christ has died. Revelation 14:13 refers to "the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth". According to Revelation 14:13 there are still people dying in Christ and the word henceforth means future. The Rapture is not the Second Coming, as Ed Hindson suggested....and, also I Thessalonians 1.10 in King James Bible says..."delivered" not "delivers." Big difference here.
@Shane Guillory I understand where you are coming from and I understand these verses well. When Jesus appears in the clouds, this is judgment day for the earth. Here is an important point. Jesus does not appear at the rapture. Christians will simply escape the hour of trial (Rev 3:10).

These people will come to repentance when they realize what has happened, but many will be decieved and follow the false messiah (the anti-christ). This is the tribulation. After this time is judgment day. God will gather those Christians who are left on earth together with the (raptured) saints in heaven (Matt: 24:31).

Yes, many will get saved after the rapture. Most of them will be put to death for their faith in Jesus. Revelation 6:9-11, 7:9-17, and 20:4 confirms this.

Just couldn't get my mind around the concept of the "rapture." I knew our Lord was coming for us but in the 2nd coming. This has helped.

context here in the whole chapter he is talking about the resurrection of the dead, and we know that happens on the last day, John 6 -40 is just one of many scriptures that speak of the resurrection being the last day, there are non that I can find speaking of the resurrection prior to that. He is telling the church what will happen if you are still alive when Jesus returns, since it was unclear, at first he was only talking about those dead, and notice they get there glorified bodies before those that are alive. MEaning that the church that has died for christ all through out history have not yet come to life, Revelation 20:4 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
So we see the pre tib theory says that the church all are resurrected at the rapture prior to the tribulation, yet we have scripture here saying they are still in heaven in soul form not in resurrected bodies. The resurrection at the last day is talking about the 2nd resurrection of the dead from Revelation 20:5. This is the only resurrection the Jews know about, and it's from Daniel 12:2. It's also the only resurrection that has both good and bad servants who will be judged by their works. This is after the millennium. This is not the rapture.
The 1st resurrection of the dead (Revelation 20:4) is only those who came out of the tribulation. This is also not the rapture.
Thru baptism, we have already been crucified, buried, and risen from the dead with Christ. But that is not the rapture either.
Jeremiah 7 defines them who have no oil and quench the Holy Ghost by not following the supreme command of love in Mark 12:29-31.

My question is, that we will be raptured from God's wrath, but when is that? There's the tribulation, and the great tribulation. Is God's wrath a part of the tribulation or does His wrath begin at some point in the great tribulation?
*All* of the 7 year tribulation is God pouring out His wrath and the Church isn't appointed to God's wrath. We'll miss all of it, thank God!
Starting in Revelation 6:1, it's the Lamb of God, Jesus, God the Son, Who opens the first seal. So all the judgements are coming from God. The second 3 1/2 years is known as the "Great Tribulation" because the judgements are so intense.
R Johnson, it specifically says that God's Wrath is poured out in the 7 Bowls, which is right after the great tribulation ends and right before the second coming.
According to 1 Thessalonians 4:16, the dead in Christ rise first. The change of living believers cannot happen before all who will die in Christ has died. Revelation 14:13 refers to "the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth". According to Revelation 14:13 there are still people dying in Christ and the word henceforth means future.

Wonder what’s right: pre or post tribulation rapture. According to 2 Thessalonians 2: 1-4 it’s a post tribulation rapture.
The Rapture is not the Second Coming, as Ed Hindson suggested....and, also I Thessalonians 1.10 in King James Bible says..."delivered" not "delivers." Big difference here.
They mention that the rapture and the second coming are two separate events in a previous episode.
@Shane Guillory I understand where you are coming from and I understand these verses well. When Jesus appears in the clouds, this is judgment day for the earth. Here is an important point. Jesus does not appear at the rapture. Christians will simply escape the hour of trial (Rev 3:10).
@Shane Guillory There will be Christians on the earth after the rapture. These people will come to repentance when they realize what has happened, but many will be decieved and follow the false messiah (the anti-christ). This is the tribulation. After this time is judgment day. God will gather those Christians who are left on earth together with the (raptured) saints in heaven (Matt: 24:31).
@Shane Guillory hello Shane!...those verses in scripture are telling us of the Second Advent, not the Rapture...look at it again. At the Rapture - no one will know when this event happens. The Church will be taken out quickly - in the twinkling of an eye.

Jeremiah 7 defines them in the church who are kept behind after the Rapture, sin unto death will keep you behind after the Rapture 1 John 5:16. These people don't follow the supreme command of love in Mark 12:29-31.
