    There are so many studies showing that not only increased activity leads to higher TDEE and leaner body mass, but also that being secondary makes your metabolism even slower than being moderately active, but you can always find a study or anecdote to confirm whatever point you want to make

      True, but I like the kurzgesagt message, it basically incites you to exercise more.
      I recently lost a few kilos just by eating less, but this video reminded me that just losing weight does not equal being healthy, so I decided to work out 3 times a week, not to lose weight, but to be healthier

    As with what you've already mentioned on one of the older reactions you've done, what you put in your body affects your weight and health way more than what you do with your body. I only started biking to and from work because of the pandemic a few years ago and had to give up coffee, but I've already lost a lot of weight without really going hard on exercise.

    So, in short: don't go ham on exercise, cause your body will just say 'Nuh Uh' and throw bullsh*t things to hog all the cals for the sake of survival

      @@battlefuta9953 it depends on your goal, of course. If you want to become a proper athlete or a bodybuilder, you’ll really have to push yourself to overcome this. However, for a normal person it’s reasonable to stick to a moderate amount of exercise

    Living in a country where some commute by car and some by other means such as walking or bicycle, there seems to be a correlation between folks who commute by car and people who are overweight. Not that all car commuters are overweight (far from it), but that overweight people are usually car commuters. I can even see this correlation even in my own family.
    Of course, correlation do not prove causation, however it still needs explaining. Maybe somebody has thoughts?
    Something different, though maybe still related, will those stress hormones active people get rid of in a healthy manor, not leads to bad eating habits in inactive people? At least, from my self, I know that I am way less careful what I stuff myself with when stressed out.

      All my co-workers who bike are fat. All my co-workers who use a car are either of healthy weight or are workout freaks. You gotta bike a lot and intensively to get a reasonable work out from it. Its a rather efficient transportation method, so it doesn't burn a lot off of you, especially if your body's used to it.

    • @seanwallcroft6272
      @seanwallcroft6272 22 дні тому

      @@DiabloDelMer1 there are studies that say low intensity cardio is better for fat loss, so people who walk more on a regular basis are usually not overweight. Honestly, I can confirm, walking more really helps me keep my weight at a good mark (for me that’s roughly 10-12k steps a day)

      Cool 😮 I just startet and im not even remotely close to the frontlever and backlever. I can barely hold a tuck frontlever.
      When you say you are currently doing planche training, do you mean you are working on getting the planche or are you training for a better hold or an even more advanced variation?

    14:15 Now let's remember Kurzgesagt here is referring to average person. Person that works our few hours a week. Or maybe even everyday for let's say 90 minutes.
    I've seen the "yeah but what about elithe athletes or professional cyclists riding tour the france" argument thrown around. Yeah obviously they burn more.
    But it is also important to point out that presentation and phrasing in this Kurzgesagt video was bad and it should have been either done differently or clarified this aspect.

    • @electricant55
      @electricant55 Місяць тому

      So average person or someone who works out a few hours a week? Because that's nowhere near similar

    • @paxon57
      @paxon57 Місяць тому

      @@electricant55 It is from biological point of view.
      What I'm talking about is professional athlete spending hours on high intensity training every day vs person that exercises few hours a week or not at all

    • @electricant55
      @electricant55 Місяць тому

      @@paxon57 if the effect they're talking about was real, professional athletes would grind their metabolism to the ground. if anything studies observe the opposite, it's the extremely high amount of activity that slows the rest of the TDEE down more

    • @HitodamaKyrie
      @HitodamaKyrie Місяць тому

      @@electricant55 No? It just balances out to homeostasis over time. Professional athletes don't have to eat a ton more to keep normal. Their metabolism just adapts to their activity level.
