i said that i did once and it’s true i’ve only done it once and didn’t get disqualified, my asvab is on tuesday and need to get some documents to my recruiter to send to meps before the physical portion

Wow I am glad to hear! If I may ask, what was your medical condition? I have worries that I wouldn't be accepted because there is something wrong with my left eye, I have an appointment setup to get it checked out in a few months.

Good advice to all airman. I am an honor graduate, and a disabled veteran. 3 medals, but only 6 ribbons. Only 10% get honor grad. At discretion. I scored 98% on ASVAB at MEPS. I really qualified for any field. I chose CE. Military Police over manned at the time. I was disappointed as an ex policeman. But I really did more for us, as a civil engineer. Ordering, Logistics, purchasing, testing, and implementation. Still things in use. Over 34 years ago.
The airforce is the only military branch that I’m interested. It’s my dream military. I always love the concept of flying.
If flying is your goal then I suggest looking into going the Officer route. There are people who fly with the plane like crew chiefs and load masters. Those are enlisted.

This is very helpful , i am 15 and my hope is after high school i will join the air force for roughly 10 maybe more years. So this will really help me in 3 years thank you.
Thing with the marijuana usage is nobody can tell how many times you've smoked. It has to be under 25. You could wake and bake all day everyday, but as long as you clean before the drug test there's literally no way to tell how many times you've smoked in your life
Past criminal records will show it ,once they do the background check

Never thought I’d have to tell the story of me when i was in 7th grade going to juvenile court for fighting to my recruiter but luckily my case was dropped/dismissed and the judge told me to stay out of trouble 😭
cases like that shouldn't even be legal. 7th graders are 12-13 years old. That's still a child. The USA is a bit overzealous with trying to imprison literal children for doing childish things like fighting.

@@astutenomad2879 Getting into a fight isn't exactly what I would want kids being arrested for though. It's cases where there wasn't a fight that I'd rather they get involved in.

I had to list all my traffic tickets. I'd been driving for 5 years and I ended up with a total of 16 tickets. My recruiter got pissed because he had to use a different form. I asked if that many tickets would prevent my enlistment and he said no - unless I was going into law enforcement. I think he was joking.

The military requirements:
Join civil Air patrol. For those interested in joining the military. If you get the Mitchell award in severe patrol. You get E3 when you join any branch of the military. Civil Air patrol also gives out scholarships. And we do a lot of cool stuff like search and rescue. let me know if anyone is interested.

I tried to join the air force and this was really weird, the recruiter had this detached, indifferent attitude like, what are you doing here? When I said I wanted to go in the air force, he was like, what for? So I gave up on him and went in the navy

On the ged thing there is a new type of ged called hi-set and it acts the same as a high school diploma. Yall should cover that. Not a lot of people know about the hi-set yet.
Yes bro .. I was looking for this comment.. I keep seeing on the airforce website that if I have a GED in order to have the same eligibility as a highschool graduate I need 15 college credits .. but what about the Hi-set .. that’s what I have

So I don’t drink or curse and I am a virgin. I have been warned in not joining the Air Force because I will be a target by the women. What is your opinion and how would I avoid being at target.
P.S I don’t think I am holier than thou. I don’t drink because I always like having full control over my mind and senses. I don’t swear because it is my way of practicing self control. I am a virgin simply because I want to wait till marriage.

What if someone was charged but not convicted with a OVWI. I remember recruiter saying you can get a waiver just can't have a top secret security clearance. Can you commission as a officer?

For tattoos, you are able to have a cosmetic face tattoo such as eyeliner/eyebrows as long as it is tasteful (only for females)

I graduated early last month & im 17 & I’m not getting my diploma till June with everyone else.would I have to wait to go to basic if everything was approved & test were passed ?
Yes. You’d just have to get an official letter from the school, on the schools letterhead stating you graduated and completed all the necessary course work. Your recruiter should have a template for this letter if you need further guidance.

I know there is a height restriction, I just turned 28 and I've been getting in shape to join the Air Force but I've not yet talked to a recruiter. I'm over the max '80 ('82) but I am noticing some Air Force MOS will accept a waiver for this? What should I expect when trying to go for a height waiver? Will I have to consider another branch?

Wow, this helped me a lot. I am so excited to talk to a recruiter and try my best to get into the air force, if you respond to this, I would love to ask you some more questions on the air force to get all the information I would need, and want to know. I am a very open minded person about space and planets so that's why I want to get into the air force, and work my way up to the space force!! I have a lot of stuff I would like to know, and you seem really smart, and a cool guy, so I would absolutely LOVE to hear from you man :). I am currently in 10th grade and I have a struggle with math, but only math like Geometry, and the real hard stuff like that. Fractions, and basic stuff I'm great at. I filled out a pre-qualification sheet and I do not have any of the problems you listed but I did state I wanted to continue my schooling and get a bachelors degree. I did express my interest in wanting to be a Air Force pilot while any other back up careers were undecided. I never heard back. Is it because myGPA is 3.6? And because I’m not sure what career I want in the Air Force? I just want to know why I never heard back from a recruiter..? Thank you
Or maybe they simply forgot about you? Did you try reaching out to them again?
Most services recruit you but you have to recruit the Air Force. The others were calling me and the Navy recruiter almost had me. I had to look up and call the Air Force recruiter. And when I met with him, he didn't even seem to try. When the AF recruiter called, my mom was like, ya he is in basic training right now.
Oh, if you have those grades, why not look into becoming an Officer. Check out the pay scale and you will know why.
I just had a baby but he stays with his mother in another state so technically she has custody right now. Would that be an issue if were to try and join?

By disclosing tattoos, is covering them with makeup allowed? Or does it have to be a full removal? And about the criminal offenses, do i let the recruiter know about juvenile criminal offenses as well?
Edit: never went to juvie, only arrests and court. And would selling drugs disqualify you? Even if you’ve never done it since a young age and explain to your recruiter that you’ve grown and never had any other criminal offense since then?

I saw in one of your old videos (I can't remember which one) that you mentioned people in the reserves coming in and working as maintainers on your base. My question to you would be: Could I join the reserves as a Maintainer or something along those lines and then get a full-time job through the military as a civilian? My dad was in the army for 20 years and basically told me not to go into active duty but to instead go into the reserves. and I just wanted to know if it would be possible to work as a civilian on a military base if I went down this route and what I would need to do. Would the training through the reserves be enough for me to do this? Would I need to complete anything else? It has been very hard to find information on this subject and your input would be much appreciated.
It’s possible for you to get a job in the reserve and then work on the planes as a civilian. These are called ART (air reserve technician). They are possible, but not guaranteed. You have to have a base that needs the position, and they hire you to do it. Here’s a link which can help you understand it better.

I wanna join, im 32, I have a bachelor degree but I had a felony when I was 13 years old and I have never been in trouble since. The arrest was for possession of controlled substance. I was told to just not mention it and if asked about it just to say I forgot it ever occurred. Any advise?
Yeah I was wondering that too, I had a felony at 13 and they said it was taken off the record and my lawyer said that I didn’t have to say yes to any “previous criminal record” questions. But I’d rather know for sure if I have to say it or not before I get disqualified

If I have a hand tattoo (of a sun) not on my finger but under my thumb finger nearing my wrist, and it’s about over a inch will I be Disqualified?
So I'm in this situation where my doctor assumed I had anxiety and we were just running test and nothing came of it and I only took one pill from the medication she gave me. This was back in 2021.. I tried hoping last April and they were able to bring this up on the medical record along with me in middle school having taking another test due to me fainting and hitting my head. Again nothing ever came of it but it raises the air forces eyebrows so I've been jumping through hoops trying to prove myself and that I'm okay. I'm perfectly healthy. But the SG first told me to wait 3 years as well to reapply... but I just got a letter where he's adding an additional 14 months to it to "be on the safe side". My problem is I've already been waiting a year! I want to be in and start my life! Do you think there is anything I can do to try to resubmit earlier or get him to reconsider? He has all the proof to not disapprove me but again, he is being precautious due to the fact if it were true, just being in the military could trigger things and problems (if there were any) that they have to prevent off rip
That doesn't make sense. He should be trying to get you waivers instead of trying to make you wait for years. If they have all of the paperwork you should be good. You may or may not get a waiver but tbh if you let the doctor at meps know you only took a medicine once they may just write it off.
