This a review of the Trust 2.1 speaker set Avora, they look the real deal and with self powered 18w USB connection they should be a good upgrade from the previous Ziva 2.1 set but are they? Watch the video to find out.
If you want a spoiler then the title should give it away! These sound okay and are a decent upgrade from laptops built in speakers but are seriously lacking bass, they are loud enough but there is no feeling of bass unless you are right on top of the sub which is not really how this should work.
For the £10 i paid they are fine but at the RRP of closer to £20 there are other options that you should probably take a look at.

Thanks for a fair review Mike. I too see trust as a cheap basic brand and look to buy better. I had a pair of creative labs speakers back in the day and were great for game play etc. Plastic cases, cheap but decent sound without boom box. Maybe trust should focus on the left right combo and leave out the wooden box! Stay safe👍
yeah how the managed to get this wrong i don't know? in theory everything is there, just they sound pants
I bought these exact same speakers for just under a tenner when you recommended them. I've got them to add some sound to my speaker free monitor. To be honest I was pleasantly surprised. With a bit of playing around with my audio settings to me they sound quite good with a decent bit of bass. Makes me wonder if you've got a faulty unit. I'm very happy with my purchase!
Perhaps recommended isn't quite right. I should say made me aware of them via your channel 😊
yeah that is possible that they are a duff set? I think i was more disappointed due to the previous ones that were decent but much smaller so i expected more
Its a shame cos the other set were really good and these gave the impression that they would have more bass etc. I know sound device reviews are difficult but given the look on your face I can only summise that the sound isnt too good. I'm sorry, Mike. For sound I've changed to Logitech after many years with "Genius" brand. I had a 5.1 subwoofer system and one of the plugs failed (had to manage to plug and find out how to make it sound). After that I sold them and my wife bought to me a 3w USB simple speakers. They had a noise, so I decided to go for a 2.1 speaker system. Wanted to go for Logitech Z323, had the money and when I was gonna buy them in a local store: SOLD OUT. But then I saw the Z313 (20% less), here they are! Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts with this audio system.
logitech do make some really good speakers, and they blown trust out of the water at every price point

its a real shame. I still looking for a cheap set of speakers myself but they all seem to be USB powered these days haha (well not all, allot)

getting a set of these for free tomorrow just to mess around with got some woofers and speakers lying around from small bookshelf speakers, 5.1 surround system and a sound bar
guess ill see if we can get any usable quality from them

not really to be honest, even the creative t10 will give a better sound

i doubt it over USB
You are powering from a regular USB port from your computer. From that port you get 5 V and less than 200 mA, which is less than 1 Watt. Due to energy conservation, there is no way that the speakers are outputing 9 W RMS, physics forbids it. Maybe the crappy sound is because of this, if you use a bigger cellphone charger with 10 W (this is 2000 mA) they may sound better.

Agreed plus this will also help eliminate ground loop issues as well. It amazes me how many people making reviews of USB powered speakers almost always connect them to their computer for power which is a mistake.
what would happen if we use with 12v?
not sure, most likely damage the unit i would think
@@mikesunboxing Actually the direct opposite as most drivers are damaged when under powered receiving square waves from from the digital power supply. These speakers will sound much cleaner with better bass with a power brick of 12-18 watts it's rated for.

Around that price point, there are bound to be some real stinkers... not everyone can be good. Also, I can't see USB having enough power to drive a good sub.

The fact the you can buy Trust products at Asda/Tesco should be a warning of the quality of the sound you are going to get. Me, I always head over to the Bose store and buy a set that I know are going to be great for the next 20 years. As my grandfather used to say “Always buy a good set of speakers” and that was sound advice!

lol sound advice good one. I get what you are saying there, when i worked in the PC shop we sold trust stuff and the return rate was pretty bad to be fair, but that was a long time ago. I had hoped for better

they sound pretty awful to me, but depending on your needs and their price you might like them
USB powered is no more than 5 watts lol. 18 watts is just a gimmick. It should’ve been DC powered. The subwoofer is clearly 5 watts on that magnet.
yeah it is awful, still have them on my shelf waiting for a poor sod to ask if i have any speakers i don't want
