Got tired of waiting for the 2.0 release of MA and simply integrated Lyrion into my HA setup. Might have to revisit MA but unsure it will provide any features I don't already enjoy with LMS.
❓4:33 I also created player-groups. Is it somehow possible to change how the groupe-volume influences the individual volumes? Example: How it behaves right now. Group = vol.60 -> vol.30 (60-30) Player1 = vol.80 -> vol.50 (80-30) Player2 = vol.40 -> vol.10 (40-30) (So it's by addition/subtraction of the volume.) ❗Example: How I want it to behave: Group = vol.60 -> vol.30 (60/2) Player1 = vol.80 -> vol.40 (80/2) Player2 = vol.40 -> vol.20 (40/2) (So it's by multiplication/division of the volume.) BECAUSE than the relative volume relative to eachother is kept equal! So if I have 2 speakers in opposite corners, I sit closer to Player2 and I have adjusted their volume so they sound for this position equally loud they still sound equally loud with multiplication/division but NOT with addition/subtraction. I hope it's understandable what I mean. Can someone give me some ideas or help how to achieve this? Thank you all very much!
Works great with my musiccast system. I also have number of AMZN devices and i follow forum in this respect, and probably it will "not fly" in recognizable future due to AMZN limitations
Is there a way to integrate Amazon Music? We have only that because our Amazon Echos on Spotify don't support multiple accounts (only one playback is possible) whereas AM supports up to 5 simultaneous playbacks.
Great question yes the HACS version was extremely buggy and remained in beta a very long time. It looks like it still is?! For example, It would often stall when playing albums and not progress onto the next rack. It also broke with a HA firmware upgrade and was left like that for months. There was also no samba share feature to set up a music file source as I recall which was a game changer for me.. so I ended up unloading it. It would need to be a Sonos replacement for me to go down this path again. And have excellent Spotify integration (which also won't break in the future). So what is the background about why has this been "officially* supported and how is it different? I think I'll wait for a more detailed review on what's changed. thanks
Any idea why the MAS starting page always reverts to the setting menu? I'm trying to built a dashboard wit a webpage card using the address xxx/#/home but it lands on the settings page
If you ran the HACS version do you have to uninstall it before getting this? Last time I tried this it was a bit of a PITA to remove and get out of my project to be honest. I ended up turning it off then ignoring the updates that kept popping up. It would definitely need to be less beta than the HACS version which promised a lot but failed to deliver IMO.
Unfortunately Spotify not working for me, found my username and added password, worked once now rejected. Looked under spotify online showed as Kodi, removed, now re-adding spotify rejects username and password even with a password change. Also tried on a clean instance of HA. Shame any ideas anyone? p.s use standard spotify login not facebook
This is amazing. I was just wanting something like this in home assistant. Thank you so much for this video.
@@elevatedviewstcl yes I think it is one of the best add ons I have played with !

Another Great video Simon

Take me back a few years😂
@@elisalant thank you ! oh yes I loved 702 do you remember John Berks and his prank calls?
Cool video, it works really well with Sonos speakers.
Oh yes I am sure, Sonos are great speakers!

Yes, I totally get what are asking for. I don't think that there is a way to customise this at the moment, let's hope it comes soon!
Needs Echo support, i have them all over the house, once that happens then this will be a must have for me!
Yes, I agree Echo support would be awesome!

@@jasinskihd Yes it would be great if it could include the Amazon!
Hey Simon. EX SA here in Thames NZ. What about Echo speakers?
Hey Shane, great to hear from you! It doesn't seem like Echos are supported on MA

I have not found a way to do this yet
So what’s the difference between this native add on and the music assistant HACS integration?
The HA one will be officially supported by them, not sure what else
@@simonsayshomeassistant so do you know if there’s any difference? It’s hard to understand from the docs
@@michaelthompson657 I agree it is very hard to tell, I am not sure either.

What I actually want to do is cast music from PlexAmp to Home Assistant so the music will play from a local smart speaker.
I don't think that Music Assistant offers the option for this at the moment. Let's hope this will come in the future

Yes, I would uninstall the HACS version first. It seems to work fine for me but I would not select the beta version if you want to avoid bugs
Haven't installed any versions yet, but curious what the project promised that hasn't been delivered?
@@Obtuse94 Seems to have met all the functionality promised from what I can see, plus some extras like syncing music across various hardware platforms
