  • The ski instructor who accompanied Gwyneth Paltrow and her children on the slopes the day she collided with Terry Sanderson reported that a "male skier took her out from behind" after the crash. Eric Christiansen reiterated that he did not see the crash but based on his observations, he believes Sanderson hit Paltrow from behind.

His testimony is the best I've heard so far. Many people have commented, on videos, about Sanderson sustaining broken ribs, head injury and he had to have fallen forward. That's ludicrous because an object slamming into something in front of it, going on a downward with a base such as long skis, would fall backwards not forwards. Although not on a slope picture bowling pins (candlepin) with the fast-moving bowling ball (the small ones) hitting the pins, they fall forward or sideways, not so much backwards. They fall in the direction of where impacted. His testimony and GP's makes so much more sense. I think Sanderson's one blind eye, one eye with cataracts, his skiing fast and in wide arcs, all makes sense that he would have slammed into her.

@@Aboma2012 No. In fact, I didn't want to believe her because she doesn't come across as a very down-to - earth person, but that would be prejudicial. Personality quirks aside, listening with my gut, and logic, and being able to read people quite well, his story is illogical. As well as my gut is simply not believing his story. I think he had health and cognitive issues that escalated over time and he really has a hard time accepting it and would rather blame anything other than himself for it. Sanderson, that is.

@@Aboma2012 "His testimony best because you already believe her that is why. People lie even on murder case to help friends or family." You mean like when Craig Ramon lied for his friend Terry Sanderson:
Ramon: Then Eric said "Gwyneth Paltrow just took out your buddy.
Sanderson's Attorney: I'm sorry he said what?
Ramon: He said "Gwyneth Paltrow just took out your buddy."
Sanderson's Attorney: "oh your buddy took out Gwyneth Paltrow?"
      Ramon: No, uh
Sanderson's Attorney: What did Christiansen say?
Paltrow's Attorney: Your honor, let's make sure the witness is testifying and not the lawyer
      Sanderson's Attorney: I will rephrase ...
Sanderson's Attorney: What did you hear at that scene at that time in this excited condition? What did you hear and from whom?
Ramon: Well well he told me that "Gwyneth Paltrow...Eric told me that Gwyneth Paltrow took out Terry.
Sanderson's Attorney: Gwyneth Paltrow took out Terry (unhappily)
      Ramon: Yes
Sanderson's Attorney: Okay, was he accusing Terry of taking out Gwyneth Paltrow too
      Ramon: No
      Sanderson's Attorney: Okay, alright (unhappily)
Of course, Paltrow's lawyer during cross called him out on his testimony, under oath, during his deposition where he said the exact opposite and which Sanderson's lawyer was trying to coach him to say under oath now. The problem with Sanderson's witnesses and accounts is that they are not only inconsistent with reality, common sense and simple facts but they are contradictory internally and against each other. The account that Craig Ramon gave of what happened not only didn't match what he testified to during his sworn deposition but also his testimony at trial conflicted with itself and you could tell that he was giving descriptions of what happened to Paltrow and not to Sanderson and became confused as a result. That's also why he insisted here that the resort employee said "Gwyneth Paltrow just took out your buddy." Even as Sanderson's own lawyer kept trying to get him to say that the resort employee accused Sanderson of taking out Paltrow.

Im sure that if Gwyneth hit him and felt that it was her fault she'd just pay him, their's no reason why she would put herself through this , because she definitely has the money and from what I've seen of her and her over all personality she doesn't seem the type of person that would lie about something like this. My brother has a really bad TBI as the result of crashing when he was a paratrooper. You'd never know just by talking to him but the signs are all there if you interact with him long-term, especially if you knew him before his TBI. In fact his own ex-wife didn't believe he really even had a TBI until he went to a specialized clinic and got a brain scan that showed a massive amount of damage.
Edit: To be clear, he does have a lot of issues, especially with numbers and memories from before the TBI as well as a huge change in personality. But, his ex refused to believe that they weren't just a part of his normal behavior (she didn't know him before) until there was irrefutable proof because he seems very together when you talk to him. He can hold a conversation just like he always could and he's still very intelligent.

This Sanderson accuser is so lying. If he had four broken ribs, there is no way an ambulance would not have been called. I broke my ankle and I was writhing in pain, and an ambulance had to be called. And, that was just one bone. An athlete sometimes has to be carried off the court if they severely sprain their ankle. This man alleges he broke four ribs. If he suffered such a bad injury that he was knocked unconscious, and suffered four broken ribs, an ambulance would have had to be called. You don't just walk away or ski away from four broken bones. If the impact was so severe to suffer four broken ribs, he would have been out for more than a few seconds. And if he was unconscious for ten minutes, his friend would have called an ambulance. Someone would have called an ambulance. Sanderson is so lying.

I can’t believe that the instructors and the patrolman left the scene without making sure everybody was actually OK even though they said they were. The plaintive had broken bones. Why would he be allowed to ski down on his own With broken bones? I believe the instructors miss led the patrolmen, and I also believe the instructors really did not do a good job of noting the details of a pretty severe impact. The fact that no one actually saw who was the skier above leads me to believe that no one actually knows.

How does a skier of 37 years (doctor) ski between a skier's skis who is "skiing" which is basically back and forth, or like the man said,... making turns? GP said she looked down and saw two skiis between hers? While she was turning or skiing back and forth? How is that possible? It makes more sense that one of these folks clipped the other while both were in motion. Usually happens to when one is skiing faster than the other, from an angle, because at least one of the two is not paying attention.
