As a senior in high school, I’m glad to be a quiet person that doesn’t get involved with people who could ruin my life

In high school I had a friend who I'll call John (not real name). In Senior year John started to hang out with another guy who I'll call Joel (again fake name). Well, John started spending less time with me so I tried to become friends with Joel so all 3 of us could hang out. Well, Joel didn't seem to like me so I stopped trying to be his friend, but we still had a couple of classes together so I talked to him every now & then in them, but his anger/hatred of me seemed to grow & I didn't understand why. Well, 1 week before graduation I was wanting to talk to Joel about John since we weren't all 3 in this 1 class & Joel snapped (to put it lightly) & yelled at me & threatened to kill me. Unfortunately, he didn't realize how loud he was & the teacher was still in the room, so the teacher took Joel outside. I never saw Joel again, but I found out that he got suspended from school in the last week & was banned from attending the graduation ceremony the following week.
Did you ever find out why he singled you out like that? Like did you talk to John about it after? Seems crazy you two never really knew each other and despite trying to be nice, he legit threatened you, just scary 🫢
@@gred_and_forge: John & Joel lived in the same neighborhood & hung out on weekends, but I had known John for years before high school. After high school I only saw John a few times since I went to college while he went into the military, & I never mentioned Joel & John never brought him up so I don't know if they remained friends after high school either.
Okay...I feel like saying "they have it so bad when it isn't that bad"...as someone on the outside looking in on someone's life unless you know them from childhood and know they don't have it bad, saying 'you don't have it that bad' will make that person feel awful if it really is that bad.
my life got ruined in high school. i got sick, i developed a chronic illness, and i was subject to an abusive relationship. but i'm getting better, there's always hope
They probably become real estate agents cause that’s one of the few jobs you can make decent money without having any type of degree.
That, and it seems from what I can tell to be where even if affiliated with some RE firm the relationship is looser and maybe background checks are not a gate.

@fairiesarefair, in the US, it's WAY too easy. Steal from your father, grandfather, any number of uncles, who just leave them laying around. And so can all your friends. I had a close friend, who stole his neighbor's pistol, bought two weeks prior, walked into his house, took it, and committed suicide. Guys leave them in desk drawers, nightstand drawers, and do you REALLY think kids don't know?
@@fairiesarefairjust plain stupid, at the high school level. For me to play, it would have to be at the million dollar level, AND I would absolutely have to NEED that money, to win. You are absolutely right, its stupid. "Every man has his price", but at the high school level? What could it be?!?

I was a high-achieving kid once. I unfortunately entered a wayyy too friendly relationship with alcohol and nicotine, and it all went downhill from there. I know this isn't as bad as meth or cocaine or anything like that, but even slight substance abuse can kick you into a bad path, even economically. I no longer abuse nicotine spray (advertised as an aid to get rid of other nicotine products) with me taking 110x the recommended dose 5 times a day, but I haven't been able to kick alcohol altogether yet. Working on that.
The sister in the last story was really shady, immediately abandoning a friend because you don't like their partner?? I'd voice my concerns to them but cutting ties is the worst possible way to handle that situation It's extremely lucky things went the way they did, because if that relationship had turned out to be abusive, not having friends to support her could have made it much harder to break out of Even though the relationship worked out, I still feel bad the girl lost a friend over it

When my older sister was a junior in high school, a classmate of hers was drunk driving around our neighborhood's golf course when he lost control of his car and crashed into a tree. The car was completely crushed. He was the only survivor while his brother, his best friend, and his friend's girlfriend all died on impact.
and the crazy thing is that being drunk saved his life but unfortunately ended others. since he was drunk, his body didnt tense like the others and thats how he survived. he most likely has survivor's guilt now or at least i hope he does

2 guys in my school went to a party and one of the guys decided to prank the other guy by hiding his shoes, the guy went home without his shoes (he was drunk) and when he realised that he didn't have his shoes he went back for them but ended up getting shot

Okay.. I've gotten those words "But your life is soooo great!" Many times. Some people are mentally weaker than others. I am weak mentally. Depression is a bitch, and I've gone to therapy, and have many people still bringing up little things I did in the past and calling me slow, and I've been in bad friendships. So I have A LOTTA trust issues. There's a lot going on, even though I seem to have a great life. So, don't say things like that, please. We are all different mentally.

How are you doing my dear sweet friend? How are you feeling? I hope just great!! In the very first story, she just had bad luck on top of bad luck, but at least she still had a positive mind frame though. In the second story, I have actually saw and even heard about a whole lot of people who this has happened to, and it is just so very sad too because could've became very successful. Please stay dar away from that stuff because it ruins lives quickly. In the third story, this is also just so very sad too. He was just out having fun with his friends and he never, ever intended for something like that to happen, but unfortunately it did and it life was forever changed. In the fourth story, all of the people who are in cults are very sinister and they are up to no good. I wonder what happened to all of his kids? In the fifth story, this is such a tragedy right here because now their friend is no more and they are all behind probably for a very long time too. Never, ever play Russian Roulette. In the sixth story, this story is just so infuriating because he was easily excelling at every single thing that he touched, but he chose to touch that stuff and it completely ruined his life. I just feel so bad for his parents because they must've tried their hardest to get him clean only for them to finally come to the realization that he didn't want to be clean. His parents even lost their house in the process of trying to help theit son, but sadly that just backf*red in the both of their faces. In the seventh story, I am very happy to hear that your friend was able to turn his life around like that and now he is a very successful family man. In the eighth story, there are just so many things that are to blame for this actually happening. How in the world was he still allowed to attend school after that really because I figured that he would've been arrested if not s**t? Did the any of his fellow students whom he he approached sue him? In the ninth story, she is definitely a rac*st and that guy whom she married she's probably making his life a living nightmare.
