Austin going back to his roots...he sang with his dad’s southern gospel quartet sometimes when he was young. This was such a great collaboration. Loved your reaction.
So happy you reacted to this. I love this song anyway but this is almost (if not) perfection. I love the feeling they give it. And Austin! He always kills it but to see members of The Oak Ridge Boys patting him on the shoulder and get so excited when he's singing is amazing. Could there be a better compliment? I think not.
Jeffrey East has written a couple Home Free, "Love Me Like That"(which he wrote with Austin) and "Why Not" (which we performed live with them several times). He's also got a very nice voice. Just a little bit of info on Jeffrey East for ya. Nice reaction, DramaSyde, and God Bless!
Thanks so much! And yes, Austin is always Austin!!! I love him so much because his voice is so perfect and he does not have to strain to reach high notes, he just does it with his God-given talent. (And he worked and trained hard to perfect things.) He can sing with a twang, classical like Les Miserables, high super wailing or just incredible background singing to fill in, whatever is needed. Super talented young man. We are so lucky to hear him all the time. Such respect the Oaks were paying to him with the pats and rising up, etc.Hope you've been watching some of his solo original videos, the newest is special, Off the Grid. Take care.
One of my earliest memories is my grandmother raising her hands in praise assome group sang this song on the radio. I have loved it lo these many years but have never heard it done so well. Thank you so much for reacting to it. Bless you
This is a song you don't hear very much these days, but one that I have always loved. They knocked it out of the park, from the way Jeffery started the song, the blended harmonies between Home Free and the Oaks, to Austin 's solo part. Just beautiful Austin's father belonged to a traveling gospel quartet when he was growing up. Austin used to travel with them on many occasions, and even sang with them. This just showed his roots, and boy are they deep. Even his southern twang came out. Thank you, for another great reaction. Merry Christmas to you, and yours, Sir!
With all of those vocals blasting out toward the end, I couldn’t even hear the guitar. That’s power! Beautiful!!! Austin definitely brought us to church!! I definitely want to acknowledge Jeffrey East, though! He has a great voice!
First, shout out to the phenomenal Oakridge Boys! Dang, they've still got it! And, always, Home Free does their "thang"! This one makes me feel... It's not about "religion" it's about the "relationship"! Not about the "holiday" it's about why we celebrate! Luv ya bunches, Drama!
This is so Beautiful and amazing!! Love this rendition!!! It reminds me of my grandpa singing this song when I was a child. He’s been gone 26 years now and my grandma almost 7. Their entire Album Warmest Winter reminds me of childhood memories of Christmas with my grandparents. It’s just not the same anymore. 💔 Merry Christmas Michael! Much Love.
Austin killed that solo! 🔥 Like you said, there was definitely an anointing on him! He brought out his Georgia accent! You could tell he grew up traveling around with his dad and his southern gospel group! He said that his dads group used to sing this song every year at Christmas and that memory was his inspiration for how he sang it. I read somewhere that during every rehearsal he sang it much more subdued and at taping he got out there and let loose and surprised everyone! Lol🤣
Mike I knew you were gonna like this one ! I remember as a kid in Flagler Street Baptist Chruch here in Miami singing this one the last Sunday before Christmas EVERY YEAR...it was the devotional song at the end of Worship Service ! This, to me, was the highlight of the Home Free Holiday Special !! Merry Christmas my friend, I know you don't talk to o much in the comments but I hope you read this. I have enjoyed all of your Home Free reactions since I discovered Home Free Reactors on UA-cam back at the beginning of the Pandemic in March :)...again Merry Christmas to you & yours sir !!! I mean that too.
It's nice when you have two great bass singers and that you are able to alternate lead. In this case FANTASTIC first bass on Richard's part with Tim nailing the bass harmony.
I just love this collaboration! Jeffrey East has such a calm, soothing voice-and you can hear the smile! Home Free and The Oak Ridge Boys just work so well together. And what I really love, is that everyone is having a good time, everyone is appreciating eachother, everyone is supporting the song. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Michael.
I know I'm repeating myself in lots of posts so pls forgive me, but I reacted pretty much to same way when I heard that they had given the Oaks the lead with Richard first Bass. And he DOES come through very nicely. My bass hero is still going strong. All sing soooo well. Well done !!
What an amazing performance! Love everything about it! Jeffrey East is a gifted singer/songwriter who’s songs have been performed by major artists like Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Point of Grace, Jason Crabb, Home Free and others.
There's so much to love about this! The fact that Home Free let their guests shine covering the front melodies and backing them with their beautiful harmonies. Austin took everyone to church, including those he was singing with. The ORB's looked like proud papa's when he spun out those glorious words! Anointing indeed! Every time I hear this I can feel my heart fill with joy! And this was LIVE. I can't imagine it sounding any better if they'd been in a studio. This is one of the most special performances I'll ever see. The chemistry and talent is so closely matched that it brings out the emotion that we should be so lucky to feel every day of our lives! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and all of your dedicated followers. Keep doing what you do, exactly how you want to do it! If you lose a few negative people that way, even better! Don't let those few dim your bright shining light! ❤
I am obsessed with this song. Had it playing on repeat in my car all day. So beautiful. Reminds me of going to church with my mom in Dublin VA. Fire and brimstone Pentecostal church. My favorite part was always the music. They could tear up some hymns. There were also some scary things happening - shouting, speaking in tongues and alter calls. I could never figure out why i needed to have hands laid on me while people prayed for me. It was terrifying as a child but you didn’t dare not going up to the front of the church when you were told to - that was grounds for a whoopin back then.
The Oakridge boys still sound awesome and how wonderful our boys singing with the Oak Ridge boys and doing themselves proud. I'm not really familiar with Jeffery East either, but from hearing him in this song I like his sound a lot.
Hi Michael! This is your subscriber from Down Under! I always really enjoy your reactions! You are funny and caring! I'm sorry that you have had some nasty comments! Unfortunately you will always get a few of those! Just ignore them! I would say that most of your subscribers, like me are loyal and think you are lovely, caring gentleman! Please take care and stay safe! Merry Christmas from Australia!
So Beautiful!!!! I Love The Oak Ridge Boys, I grew listening to them!!!! I could the Anointing so Strong, because I wa covered in Chills!!!! Great Reaction!!!!
Amen brother - they took us to church on that beautiful song - Loved your reaction - sometimes you just can't put something like we just heard and experienced in words...they fail us completely so you did what you had to do my brother...just stay silent because those boys did all the talking!! Merry Christmas DSyd! RichieC
I'll admit I got so engrossed in the video I honestly forgot it was a reaction video. That's how good your videos are. When you paused it at the beginning of Austin's solo I thought my phone was acting up 🤣🤣
Awesome! Old-School Southern Gospel at its finest! Austin’s solo just about had this ol’ Methodist girl throwing up her hands in praise! I loved how big a kick the Oaks and the rest of them were getting out of it. Thank you for your review!
I came back and rewatched, so I could actually see your facial expressions (first time I was too enthralled with the song to see anything else), great reaction!
That was beautiful and I loved your comments. Yes, an anointing! So beautifully put DramasyETV! Just subscribed (don’t know what took me so long). I’ve never heard this song before but I’m loving it.
Jeffery East wrote a few songs off their last album, including Why Not and part of Dive Bar Saints. He's a gospel songwriter, and a good friend of the guys. Merry Christmas, brother Mike, and Happy Holidays. Stay safe, man.
LOL --- Was there any question???? And if so, just where --- where did it come from, huh???? For me ---- the stand-out was Jeffrey. He was the "change"; honestly the compliment!!! We know who and what the Oaks and HF are and what they do --- and capable of. Jeffrey was the element which blended very well --- yet that clean voice ... Kicked it off (and carried) it through. Applause!!!! Be Safe
I just love you. Your comments are so real. If you wouldn't mind listening to some more Christian songs, I would love hear your reaction to Crowder - Red Letters and All My Hope is in Jesus. They are great. Thank you!💗
My favorite Christmas song it was my mamaws too makes me think of her! Seriously tho I would absolutely love to see home free do a southern gospel album! The holy spirit is absolutely present when austin sings his solo!! Made me fell like I was in a good holy spirit church!!
Richard Sterban has the despest voice I have ever heard live. Austin said it's time to take them to church!
The Oaks were patting Austin while he was singing because he killed that solo.
I love the way the Oak Ridge Boys tenors support Austin and encourage him. 🙂
Austin's father was a gospel singer in a group and he grew up around that atmosphere. Home Free has sung a couple of songs written by Jeffrey East.
Austin going back to his roots...he sang with his dad’s southern gospel quartet sometimes when he was young. This was such a great collaboration. Loved your reaction.
I know I am quite randomly asking but do anybody know of a good site to watch newly released series online?
@Nixon Leonidas Flixportal :P
@Ayden Darian thank you, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I appreciate it!!
@Nixon Leonidas You are welcome :D
Agree, Austin was feeling it. Most country singers, old school ones, started out in the church. So the connection is there. Amazing rendition!!
Austin went full gospel and killed it Merry Christmas Mike
So happy you reacted to this. I love this song anyway but this is almost (if not) perfection. I love the feeling they give it. And Austin! No that was HIGH PRAISE from legends & I'm sure Austin realizes that & really appreciates it...he is such an awesome talent
This is one of my very favourite Christmas songs when it's done well and Boy oh boy did they do it well!

Amen brother! This was anointed and everyone was awesome. Austin took us on a heavenly journey with his vocals. God bless
I can't explain how much I love Austin's voice. Even the ORB are fans of his!
Soooooo glad ya did this one. It’s great to see these 2 great groups team up again... Just totally Epic 🤠🤘🏼🎄🎁🎄🎁🎄🎁... Merry Christmas Mike
Epic is correct !
@@miamidolphinsfan Indeed 🎄🎁🤘🏼🤠
Just like The Oak Ridge Boys, I could see Home Free bein a Gospel Group at some point... Just Sayin
Perhaps, but at least one member openly rejects Jesus: Tim. Makes me sad. They'd be a GREAT Gospel grouop.
They Were a gospel group when they started out ....many years ago.
One of my favorite mountain carols! There are TWO great basses! Great selection, Drama!
Anointed here!!
Merry Christmas Michael! Much Love.
This is just too beautiful ❤️ Jeffrey East has a beautiful voice. Love it when Oakridge Boys and home Free sing together.❤️
Love this. Austin is showing off his gospel roots but he does every genre equally well. A great collaboration by all.
Austin killed that solo! 🔥
Like you said, there was definitely an anointing on him!

That base is mostly Richard Sterban. He can still go deep. Have a wonderful Christmas Michael 🎄
Same to you! :)
Richard covers the bass melody and Tim, the bass harmony
It's nice when you have two great bass singers and that you are able to alternate lead. In this case FANTASTIC first bass on Richard's part with Tim nailing the bass harmony.

I pray that HF and this song I brings you into a peaceful place. Awesome reaction. Austin does take it to a different level in this song!!
Thank you so much for this song tonight! One of my favorite hymns, not only for Christmas, but all year around. Loved it all my life.
Happy holidays!
Oh yes, the Spirit was there. I thought he was going for a run for a bit.
Look at Michael going all Denny Green on us. Love it, brother.
Have been singing this for many years and is my favorite song
This version with Home Free and Oakridge Boys best version!
What an amazing performance! Love everything about it!
Jeffrey East is a gifted singer/songwriter who’s songs have been performed by major artists like Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Point of Grace, Jason Crabb, Home Free and others.
This is absolutely beautiful. It looked like no one expected Austin to go full gospel on this. Love your reactions
Crown them!!!!!❤ Austin took us to church!
They are doing what they do, and are amazing at it. Thank You for your reactions.
I wholeheartedly agree with you...Austin killed it! They are all amazing...and to think they are not used to working together, it is so wonderful!
Beautifully done! Jeffrey East is new to me but he's pretty talented too. Oak -Ridge Boys goes without saying. Christmas is almost here! Thank you.

Loved every minute thank you Drama 😊
Thank you! I felt so blessed! And to hear you acknowledge the anointing... Well just amen!
They Love Austin...(The Oaks) 🙃💖‼️
