Solved, Kodi start error. Fix Kodi crash after logo. Risolto! Errore di avvio di Kodi dopo il logo.

In this video I show you the solution I have found to solve the problem of Kodi, not being able to start.
I am using the Xiaomi Mi Box S with Android TV, but the solution may work on any kind of device using Kodi.
I had the bad idea to use an addon to do some maintenance in Kodi, as soon as the addon did his job (it was trying to fix some errors related to
the updates of the addons in Kodi), Kodi stopped working and refused to start.
No matter what I tried, Kodi did no longer start.
All the solutions that I could find on-line and on UA-cam where useless (like cleaning the cache, forcing the closure of Kodi, etc.), the only that
could have worked, was too radical and destructive (delete the data or uninstall Kodi).
I did some research in the structure of Kodi, using a good file browser (X-Plore), which lets you see and edit also hidden files,
(please remember to allow the view of hidden files in the settings) and after editing the log file "kodi.log",
I found at the end of the log, the error causing the boot failure of Kodi.
The error string is:
ERROR: unable to load resource://resource.language.it_it/langinfo.xml: Failed to open
FATAL: SetLanguage: CLangInfo: failed to load resource.language.it_it language
the Kodi log file (kodi.log) is stored in:
Android/data/org.xmbc.kodi/files/.kodi/temp
From this I could understand the nature of the issue, and also that it could be easily solved with a simple change in the configuration file of Kodi.
I could find the string to be changed in the "guisettings.xml" file, stored in:
Android/data/org.xmbc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata
Using the editing features of the X-Plore app, I could modify the bad information related to the Italian language, to the default setting which is
for the English American language:
from "resource.language.it_it"
to "resource.language.en_us"
I saved the file with the new setting, I deleted the cache of Kodi from the APP Manager in Android, I forced the closure of Kodi and started it.
Kodi did start without any issue, showing the English layout, I went to the settings, changed the language to my preferred one and everything
was back again, without loosing any configuration or addon.

Vi illustro la soluzione che ho trovato per un problema di avvio di Kodi.
Ho avuto la malaugurata idea di usare un addon per risolvere un problema di aggiornamento che altri addon avevano in Kodi.
L'addon è Team Falcon.
Finito il suo sporco lavoro, questo addon ha fatto crashare Kodi che non si è piu' avviato.
Le ho provate tutte, ma niente, Kodi si chiudeva dopo il logo iniziale.
Premetto che uso una Mi box S di Xiaomi con Android TV, però questa soluzione dovrebbe funzionare su qualsiasi tipo di sistema.
Ho allora scaricato l'App X-Plore dal Play Store, è un file browser, se ne possono usare anche altri, importante è che permettano di visualizzare
i file nascosti e che si possano editare.
Dovrete abilitare la visualizzazione dei file nascosti nella configurazione di X-Plore.
Ho trovato il log file di Kodi (passo importante da fare per ogni problema che sembra irrisolvibile, consultate sempre i log, il problema viene
riportato e lo potrete analizzare), alla fine del log c'era il motivo del mancato avvio, ovvero un errore fatale relativo alla lingua di sistema:
ERROR: unable to load resource://resource.language.it_it/langinfo.xml: Failed to open
FATAL: SetLanguage: CLangInfo: failed to load resource.language.it_it language
il log file di Kodi (kodi.log) si trova in:
Android/data/org.xmbc.kodi/files/.kodi/temp
A questo punto ho trovato il file di configurazione (all'interno di Userdata)
"guisettings.xml", contenuto in:
Android/data/org.xmbc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata
Ho editato il file (sempre da X-Plore, facendo click sul file con il telecomando), con la funzione cerca ho trovato il testo "language.it_it"
e l'ho poi modificato in "language.en_us" ed ho salvato il file.
A questo punto (ma potete farlo anche prima di apportare modifiche a guisettings) ho cancellato la cache di Kodi e ne ho forzato la chiusura.
Kodi si è avviato subito, con il layout inglese, ho cambiato la lingua impostando l'italiano e tutto era come prima, senza perdita di configurazioni
o di addon.

Bravo, Gianni! Bella pazienza, a cercare l'ago nel pagliaio nei log... Io ho provato a dargli una chance a kodi, oggi, dopo un annetto abbondante, ma crasha ancora troppo spesso per i miei gusti.

Molto utile, sono riuscito a risolvere anche il problema del crash di Kodi, nel mio caso, istallato su un unitá USB formattata come memoria dispositivo, crashava all'avvio e non dava segni di vita, è bastato cancellare la lingua italiana
