Luckily for Coyote and the crew this juvenile jungle cat was more interested in playfully romping around rather than attacking with a full out aggressive strike!
Ocelot’s have a wide range stretching from Argentina to Texas and while they have fairly healthy populations in the topics they are extremely elusive and rarely seen by humans. There has never been another video like this and we feel so extremely fortunate to have had this incredible experience…it’s one we’ll certainly never forget.

Hey that seems completely worth it! What an adorable wild animal! Maybe I'd call it "wild-like" because of how used to people it is. I've seen more house cats that seem more wild and scared of people than this cute ocelot
@@enoczelaya8206 you might not be wrong, but specific animals like these are the precursors to domesticated versions of their wild animal counter parts. If this animal continues in her trend and raises her young with humans, it's a good possibility that her kittens could kick start a new way of pest control in the area. This is something that needs to be regulated and documented. Yes, they have a chance of creating a problem of wild animals that don't fear humans. I would ask you to not dismiss the possibility of a semi-domesticated wild cat that would be able to decrease pest control. This animal grows to a decent size, but it may be one of the best ways to allow an indigenous cat to be able to naturally control the populations in the area.

Most likely wild boars, in South America you can see leopards get mauled by wild boars, if lions and big cats disappeared tomorrow I have no doubt boars would be the next apex predator
@@Youbussy yeah, i think cats are too fast and "ninja" to get killed by boars though, we have a real problem here in scandinavia also since wild boar was reintroduced and their population exploded

I like how at 4:30 she is casually just trying to kill him by biting at his neck and he’s just like “stop it”
She's not trying to kill him for real, it's just playful wrestling behavior as practice for future hunting, kittens and specially wild ones do it with each other all the time by instinct, if she actually wanted to kill Coyote she wouldn't have allowed him to hold her like that without several serious scratches/biting and wouldn't have acted so playful overall. She felt comfortable and knew that Coyote didn't represent a threat.
If you hear her growl, you'd crap your pants. Imagine what a really loud zombie would sound, that is what she is supposed to sound like
I assure you, she's not actually trying to kill him. In fact, it isn't even just playing either; she's TEACHING. Cats are actually really interesting, in that they see humans as big, naked kittens rather than as an entirely different creature. Thus, ocelots will attempt to, even at a young age, teach you that 'hey, if someone's fightin' ya, this is where you grab!'.
Amazing that she is so trusting of humans. I hope no one ever betrays her trust. What a beautiful animal.

I love how every species of cat is almost the same personality but just a different size.
True even tigers at least the ones raising captivity can act like a house cat.
My grandmother worked at the Houston Zoo and had to bring baby animals home to their house. They had an ocelot once named eddy chiles and constantly talked about how mean that thing was. Someone took it from the zoo one day and nobody was worried because they knew that person wouldn’t last long. Next day he returned lol

That’s what scares me about it, the cat is just so friendly and so cool to humans, what an anomaly, theres always crappy people on this earth, and I hope the cats friendliness doesn’t get it in trouble, It just wants to play and have fun, I’d like to think that anyone who sees such a beautiful cat will just admire it and leave it in its home ☹️

So true. We have so many crops these days because of selective breeding which altered the genetics of wild plants, turning them into reliable food sources. And we did an amazing job of turning the feral wolves and felines that lingered near our camps for scraps and vermin into reliable companions.
