Ours is working good. The only problem I had was the settings.
I've got the eco-worthy 12v 100amh batteries that came the the system. Thank you for your help with me getting mine set up.
No problem. We love ours it has worked great even in the cold the only issue I have is batteries. Lead acid suck my panels will put out over 2kw but the batteries will take only 1.5 unless they are completely dead.
Can you do a video on the panel box you connected your invert do?
I can. It's just a standard house 100 amp panel. But yes I can show how it is all hooked up
@@Self.reliant awesome! Thank you so much!!
Look out for it next week.
@@Self.reliant can you put the link here? I can’t find it lol. I’m sorry!
@@brittanydixon5691 sorry I got sick with covid I'm almost back and we'll. I'll get the video done soon for you
Thanks for your videos. Glad to see you having a positive experience with it! I just ordered this unit today in the 5000w version, along with 5 of the 48V 50ah Lifepo4 batteries to go with it. Looking forward to scrapping my 48v 220ah lead acid bank. I was wondering if you are able to turn the inverter function off and still operate the charger? Looks to be only one physical on-off switch. Assuming that kills the unit entirely, or just the inverter out? I'd love to be able to turn the inverter off when not in use, and convert a lot of my cabin to low voltage DC for everything. One thing I never realized when I built my setup was how much waste there is from the big inverter running with minimal to no load.
Agree about the waste during idle time. On mine if I turn the switch off it only shuts off the output of the inverter but still changes the battery
Check out my new battery video I put up massive 600 amp hour 48 volt bank
@@Self.reliant Thanks so much for the info. I'm really glad to hear that. 600Ah at 48 sounds like an absolute dream setup. Congrats!
@TheHappyHermit yes it works great but I need to add more solar to keep them charged.
Hi, I actually am working on a system for my camp with the exact specs you’re doing, it’s been trial and error. I have two of the ecoworthy solar trackers with 12x 200 Watt panels in total, I then have 6x of the EcoWorthy 48V 50Ah batteries and the 5000W WiFi Inverter from them as well. The inverter switch has to be on all the time in order to accept solar charge or any kind of charge. You can however, and should to be honest, put a circuit breaker in between the inverter and your cabin. This is how my system is setup. Let me know if you want to chat more about it! The only thing I’m struggling with right now is I live in Maine and just got this system working in November, so it’s been difficult with the cold and short days to get my batteries fully charged, and my cabin is completely off grid so I can only manually charge it with a generator when I am there. Hopefully I can see the system work at its fullest efficiency in the spring/summer!
can you manually configure min/max/float voltage for the battery?
Yes all voltages are adjustable.
@@Self.reliant I see, thank you for the response.
Good update thx 👍
Did you update your bats yet? Just did my brothers LA to Lifepo4 last month, world of difference. Went with Orient Power wall mounts 3x5kw, working well.
Your a handy fellow so look at the Selpos kits to save a few bucks, watch out for their shipping cost though, heard complaints.
Cheers
I have not yet. I plan on it this summer I'm really hating these lead acids. I'm looking at ideas to wall mount everything so the batteries are inside so they stay warm in the winter it gets to -30f here.
Can you share a link to the batteries you went with
@@Self.reliant
LA's are so messy -- any one buying them today are miss informed. My brother had three shelfs of 320AH , so 6 x 12 to get 48v and each shelf was paralleled. One lead was heavier than One of the new packs LOL It was so nice to remove (big clean up of acid gunk) and place 3 packs on the wall. Thinks he might need one more to bring him up to where he was when the LA's were new.
Cheers
@@patrickmckowen2999 yes the only reason I went with them was due to extreme cold in the winter time. But they suck I have 18 8volt 275 amp hour batteries in 3 parrelel banks of 6 batteries
I'm also looking for an inverter right now, but I didn't understand if this is off grid which I don't want. I don't want my solar power to be fed into the grid.
This is off grid meaning work without the grid and can not back feed into the grid but does have pass though so if you have a grid or a generator that can pass through to power stuff
I might have missed it but how many solar panels do you have connected to power it all?
I have 4 395 watt panels 48volt each. The are bifacial and can output on a fresh snow day 505 watts each
I tried emailing you back about the li-ion cells! Im guessing you didnt get it? You still interested
I am I'll check my spam folder
I emailed you about it. Your email never came through
DC House 48V 50ah rack batteries On eBay are around .14/wh. For 20Kwh would be around $3K with free shipping and tax. I believe these are manufactured by Eco-Worthy and rebranded.
The only issue I find with DC house and there 50 amp hrs packs is the best in not programable and there is no way to see cell voltages on them. I do have one of them I picked up for testing.
Good point. I purchased a couple of 165ah batteries from them with BT for my RV. So far they I'm pleased with them , snagged them for $180 each just before black Friday.
I was considering this unit for the price, it's more than 1/2 the cost, but the sec he said China, I avoid their products. I know I can't avoid it all but I do try.
I get that but it's been in use for over a year without issue. It charges good and switches over to generator just fine when I start it. I love it for the price you can't beat it. Also it's a low pass unit so it can start up to 7000 watts.
"You highly recommend the Chinese Inverter"
Did you mean Communist China, Comrade?
Look around everything is made in China and this inverter is quality so yes I recommend it. If you have issue with that then don't buy it. If you find a USA made inverter it will without a doubt have Chinese parts inside and cost at least double.
