I had such an experience in 2007. I went to see a senior psychiatrist who was also a mystic. He assured me that mystical experiences are far more common than thought and that transcend any religion.
I am a somewhat rational minded British man who has had Out of Body Experiences and these amazing experiences taught me that consciousness is essentially "non-local" i.e it is not purely fixed in the brain.

There are Sanskrit Terms that can’t be translated accordingly for people to grasp the true meaning. The West believes Hinduism is a religion . It is in the sense of "SELF", or in the sense of "I AM", or as God described Himself in the Bible as "I AM, THAT I AM. The experience of BEING, or EXISTING. So when psychologists such as Jung started investigating Human Nature he came up with two basically different understandings of "Self" (1) the usually "conscious" but "Thought Imagined" Self that he named the Ego, and (2) the usually "unconscious" Self, of which we are almost 100% unaware. (the Image of God "Self".) Since they had professional reputations to maintain, the use of the word "God" was avoided, but Frankl did write a book named "The Unconscious God". Jung postulated the "individual unconscious" and the "collective unconscious", that humanity is all connected, albeit "unconsciously". (the ONE GOD appearing as the MANY.) What is implied by this "unconscious" Image of God Within (individual and collective) is that "WE CREATE OUR OWN EXPERIENCED REALITY" individually and collectively, and there CAN BE NO OTHER REALITY except THAT WHICH WE EXPERIENCE. Although it appears to have EXTERNAL CAUSES, that is not SO, it all comes from WITHIN OUR OWN SELVES. For 5,000 years the Hindus have called this phenomena "Maya" or the great illusion. So what is the purpose of this, apparently "God Forgetting Himself", ONE SELF separating into MANY SELVES, and then remaining "unconscious" about that??? The particular EXPERIENCE that Humanity is having, individually and collectively, could not be had if we were "consciously aware" that it was OUR OWN SELVES who were CREATING IT. That the "creator" and the "experiencer", or the "observer" and the "observed", are ONE AND THE SAME THING. The quantum boys will sooner or later have to admit to this, that there is no "assumed" "Objective Reality", and then deconstruct Relativity to conform to this. So that there can be conformity between Quantum and Relativity. (in that it all somehow emerges from our OWN CONSCIOUSNESS.)

The reason why the rich and powerful have so much luck is because they acquire a disproportionate amount of the world's resources and use them to rent out the time, skill, and labor of the poor to acquire even more. This is also why poor people suffer more when disaster strikes, because they don't have the money, connections, or 2nd and 3rd houses to relocate to. You cannot judge a person's value in God's eyes by their material gains in this world. God's kingdom is upside down and places "the least of these" above the mighty. God does not reward people with excessive wealth, which is just a heretical notion put forth by megachurch pastors; he rewards with love, peace, joy, good relationships, spiritual growth, and the like. The only rich people doing God's work in the world are those who use their wealth to serve others. Unfortunately, they are far and few between.

What he is describing is a legitimate experience. I've experienced it many dozens of times, due to whatever physiology/psychology I had. My thought is that it is a back load of DMT from the pituitary gland or whatever induces sleep being dumped all at once. Essentially entering deep sleep instantly, but still conscious. It's a very physical sensation and I described it in a similar way before. He says love but to me it is the feeling that you would feel in your heart if you were in love, energetic wise, but I don't think it is love itself, it is just stimulating some of the same neurons possibly. And yes it does go out of the chest into a column of white static that either leads to being out of your body in the immediate location or to some sort of "astral plane" of sorts. I believe that everybody experiences this in deep sleep (Delta) but they don't remember it .
