The depressed kids in class had been having a deep talk about what would make them give up when the new teacher stepped in with "You can't just give up. Don't give up for anything. Just look at [one of our most popular athletes, sitting right there] they never gave up. His sister disappeared when she was four. How much would [the athlete] and his brothers suffered if their parents had just given up after losing her? You fight on for everyone.
The athlete he'd been pointing at was stairing at the desk, the room was silent. The teacher had screwed up. He was looking at us one by one darting around looking for recognition when he stuttered out "You don't remember? You were 7 or 8 and you didn't hear about the only disappearance in our town? Never heard the news? This isn't a secret I only moved here last year and I know...."
But we were stunned. No we didn't know. The publicly accessible internet was maybe 2 years old.
Appologies came. The athlete explained that the sister wanted to go to town so she skipped down the drive way while her mom and brothers got dressed. The last anyone saw her was when mom looked out a window, she was dancing around their mail box. Mom turned her back and helped the youngest brother into his shoes and jacket then opened the door and she was just gone. Not a sound, the sound of a vehicle, a scream, no rising dust from the dirt road or fields to flag a passing vehicle nothing. There wasn't much tree cover, just standard tree rows around the farm so the prevailing hypothesis is someone wanted to take specifically her and was waiting in the tree row for an opportunity. When the girl couldn't be found around the house. The brothers called in the neighbours, got the dogs and quads and tore up the fields.
The parents split in two vehicles and tore up and down the only road, connected to the driveway for 20 miles in any direction. Not so much as a trace of dust was in the air, noone had driven down them. They scoured the praries for weeks.
If she had been taken by an animal there would have been blood. If she had been taken by a car there would have been dust. The only guess is it was probably a friend of the family that took the opportunity to snatch her and used their knowledge of the fields to hide her while everyone was searching. But there are no leads and the case went cold years ago. I've never so much as found a missing poster of her, to give their sons a normal life they stopped publicly looking for or mourning their only daughter.

Probably close to ten years ago, an elderly man with Alzheimer's disappeared. Apparently the disease was advanced and he wore a GPS beacon. Well, something happened to the beacon, and he went missing. It was announced on the local news and quite a few neighbors got involved in the search. The bigger issue, however, was a snowstorm forecast the next day. Unfortunately, he wasn't found before then. The really heartbreaking part was when he was found buried in the snow a week later, he wasn't far from home... still on their property.

If anyone wants to know about the report missing story here it is - A woman called Tracey told her ex John that she was pregnant. He had little contact with Tracey during the pregnancy and she didn’t want him there at the birth. For the next three years, John had limited contact with his son but developed a strong bond with him. He paid Tracey child support but Tracey cut off contact with John and he didn’t see his son for 2 1/2 years. He contacted a solicitor and they planned to go to court to sue for access to his son. However the solicitors could not find any evidence of John’s child existing, eg no birth certificate. So he contacts the police to report his son missing. Eventually the police discover that Tracey was using a friends child to pose and johns ‘son’ and that the child never existed in the first place and she had made it up to receive the child support payments. I think John spent around £15,000 in child support and lawyers fees. Tracey was found guilty of fraud and went to prison for 2 years.

A young girl, friend of my youngest daughter's, disappeared. This girl had been in our home multiple times. A few days later part of her body was found in a local park. The other part was found in a fire pit at a rural home. The girl was murdered by three of her "friends" because the ringleader (at whose grandmother's house they tried to burn that part of the body) was jealous of the girl. Two of the three will spend the rest of their lives in prison. The third was not as involved and will be free soon. My daughter is still haunted by all this, almost 20 years later.

Then at some point, a suitcase of hers got dumped in some random driveway with like a man's sock in it and maybe pants or something. Like weird random stuff. The saddest part is that last I heard about her before this, she was pregnant so Idk if she ever had the baby or if that was even true. I'm weirded out by the group of coworkers. She was someone who usually ended up being a target for teasing and being messed with at parties to where I wouldn't be surprised if that whole group knew something but were all sticking together to not say anything. Missing person cases involving 411's
Long story short it means an experienced hiker who knows the park like the back of thier hand has gone missing without a trace like the only evidence they find is thier clothes or backpack sometimes but the phone/camera either are destroyed or have had thier sd/sim cards removed or water damaged cause bag was left near water after that its like this person just vanished off the face of the earth
Women going missing and the husband had been reported for domestic abuse in a previous relationship so the cops just half ass the search with an assumption she just ran away cause she supposedly "left to go grocery shopping" and declare the case gone cold dispite not really investigating only for a neighboring town to find her in a shallow grave or locked in some creeps basement haveing been kidnapped/killed on her way home

This reminds me of the time my dad worked at a small used car lot about 30 minutes east of where I currently live. It was something like 5 employees (including the owner). The owner up and disappeared one day and hasn’t been found even though it’s been 18 years. The last time I asked my father about it was 5 years ago when I moved back to Washington in which I sent him pictures of that lot and all that was there was an empty field with a fence around it. He mentioned that he periodically checks to see if there are any updates on his case over the years since his disappearance. I did check Google Maps at some point last year and found out that it is now a U-haul rent-a-center lots. I should also note, he walked away from everything in his life. The next time I talk to my father, I do want to ask him about the case to see if he has ever been located.

When the cops went to investigate, no one in the mother's family knew what was going on. The woman only had one adult daughter on record, no son. A bit more investigating and they discovered that the 'son' is actually a friend of the mother's child. She passed the kid off as her own to string the poor 'father' on for years. He was paying child support to her. So she ended up being arrested for fraud and sentenced to two years in prison.

One night, both him and his car go missing. (I think) A few days later, they found his car parked in a bunch of trees near our local YMCA. Im the car were the boys clothes, I believe his phone, and maybe his wallet. Later they found his body rotting in creek. Idk if they determined he offed himself or was killed. But I remember when the car was found, the locals of the area were talking abt that location. Anyone local to the area would know that those trees were an awful place to hind anything. The father of five-year-old Tyler has reported his son missing, having not seen him in two years after a custody dispute with Tyler's mum Tracey. But things take a sinister twist when Tracey denies that Tyler exists. As the investigation goes into its third day, without any trace of the boy, fears for the five-year old's welfare gather pace. With the clock ticking, it's down to Sergeant Simon Degg and his team to solve the mystery.
SPOILERS: Turns out Tracey made up the pregnancy completely and borrowed a child from a family friend who had no idea that when she kept offering to babysit their child she was using him to get child support off her ex. Tyler never existed." Yep, that's it.

The smoke wouldn't rise so they called for a chimney cleaner to check it out. Found mummified remains of a known burglar who had been missing for 17 years. Think about it. If the flue was closed, then whatever smell would have to exit out the chimney so no odor in the house.

This happened years ago and I was younger, so the details may not be 100%, but this is a missing persons case that happened in my town.
I live in a pretty rural area, one where everyone knows everyone. Back in 2011, an older man went missing. He had developmental delays, and would wander off occasionally, but was always found.
In mid-November, he went missing without a trace. Someone had come forward after a week or so because they had seen him walking down a highway.
Its been 12 years and theres never been anything found. Most people assume he either died from the elements, or was picked up off the highway by someone. There is a going theory by some that his family were the ones behind it so that they could get the inheritance from him, and then buried him somewhere. The family is pretty well known, so nothing has ever been proven, but it's something that a lot of people would bring up.
I'll still see the faded missing posters around town for him, and it makes me sad that he most likely died alone and afraid out in the middle of the woods or something. Hopefully someday they'll find his remains, at least.

And my grandma lent her 500 bucks for a car. If this wasn't her they wouldn't have paid my grandma back but she did get the money back. Some of the mispronounced words are jarring, and funny af. Kind of a “break” in the deeply tragic mood. “She diss-AHH-peared.” Lmao.

So they found a receipt for a car the guy paid cash for and never got a replceipt?

    • @emilybarclay8831
      @emilybarclay8831 2 місяці тому

The receipt was for the car itself, not for the renting of the storage place he was found in, which he didn’t get a receipt for. If they’d found a receipt for a garage, they would have gone there first and it wouldn’t have taken 5 months to find him
