Slow cook your steak in the oven until it reaches 145° internal then throw it in a hot pan with a bit of butter to sear the skin. Most sear the skin first then put it in the oven giving it the name "reverse sear"

Reverse searing is when you bake it in the oven first then sear it off at the end. Which is the reverse of the standard process, sear first then bake. You start baking at a low temp (200-250F) until it gets close to desired internal temp then sear it a blazing hot pan for that crust and color.

Ok... for people who don't know what reverse sear is...you slow cook a steak in a oven until it reaches 145° internal. Then throw it in a hot pan with a bit of butter to sear the skin. Most people do that in reverse, that's why it's called "reverse sear"

For those wondering, it’s because it’s completely uniform medium rare all the way through. For something that was grilled or pan cooked, it usually has a “grayish” ring around with the medium rare cook more just towards the center!

I've tried it out. I still prefer to just grill my steaks 6-7 minutes each with a little butter to a medium/medium rare. much faster and the crust is much better for me
What kind of temperature are you grilling them at for 6-7 mins? And is that solely for thicker cuts or have you done thinner steaks that way too? Sounds an easy way to prepare multiple at the same time, and you got it sounding nice with the butter and crust.
@@jameslayton1560 I usually usually grill on high for atlest the first side and if it's starting to look pretty done on that top side before I flip ill back the heat off to around half or so on my grill for the other 6 minutes. this is for steaks in the 1-1.5 inch thick range. thicker side I might go 7-8 minutes max. thin steaks probably only need 3-4 min on high each side but I usually stick to thicker cuts
