Are you a casual boxing fan? What’s not to get? Dev has been chasing LEGACY (top fighters). Now, he’s finally getting one of them, 4 years later. There’s a history here. Dev was Loma’s mandatory.
Loma is the reason why Dev was labeled “email champ”. When Loma “ducked” him to unify with Lopez, he became the WBC franchise champ. The WBC “emailed” Dev the belt that Loma held.
Dev was ridiculed for getting a belt he didn’t win in the ring. This is the man’s rep and career. All this shit matters. The back story gives context, adds a mental/emotional element to what you’re about see on Saturday.

The networks was not the problem most of y’all don’t even know what happened or are new to boxing. Haney was lomachenko mandatory. Haney was supposed to fight Luke chambell for the vacant WBC belt but due to loma popularity they just pushed Haney aside and made loma vs Luke chambell for the vacant WBC belt and the winner was supposed to fight Haney who was the WBC interim champion in other words the Mandatory for the WBC champion. The excuse that loma wanted teo doesn’t make sense because loma had to wait for the winner of teo vs comey which would of taken 6-7 months so in the mean time he was supposed to fufill his mandatory. Plus loma even said himself he didn’t want to sit on the shelf and not fight. Instead of fulfilling his mandatory (because that was his only option) he vacated and became franchise and the WBC “emailed” the wbc belt to Haney. Which is why people started saying Haney is the email champ becaus loma didn’t fufill his mandatory and vacated the belt so Haney got elevated to WBC champion. which means loma couldn’t of even became undisputed champion even if he beat teo, because the Franchise belt was not a belt that could of been won or lost but is awarded. Loma even said Haney is the real WBC champion. I like loma as a fighter and he is a humble guy but he ducked Haney. It doesn’t make any sense why he didn’t fight Haney. Yet he fought Ortiz who wasn’t a mandatory and never fought a 12 round fight before.

Bill haney didnt understand that it didnt matter if they were calling lomas phone or standing on his front door. That was an incredibly childish response and it felt like I was listening to a toddler.
He literally just heard the man explain why they didnt fight devin 4 years ago and he just completely ignores it. Bill is obssessed with trying to gain credit for haney instead of just letting haney gain credit in the ring.
The problem is Haney hasnt shown what the other guys have shown to get the credit he wants. He has to fight this saturday if he wants that. If what we've seen is all he got, then his run at 140 is gonna be short lived.
I doubt theyre going to warn haney for his excessive clinching and of course youll have the people trying to compare lomas punches and headbutts, when those things happen against any southpaw. But, excessive clinching is illegal and results in a point deduction and or disqualification.
Potshotting isnt gonna cut it. Haney either needs to show us his boxing skill, or his fighting skill. Could be both. We need to see if he can bite down on that mouth piece and show us some grit.
