Lovely! I bought a Yamaha FG151(with orange/pinkish label) 13yrs ago from a local store. The tone is really great and open strings sustain for about 15 seconds. Thank you for sharing, Neil! Take care!! 😊
Thanks Wesley!!! I hope it sounded alright. I recorded it just a few minutes ago using my iPhone. I did it in a hurry as I have a few customers waiting to pull the trigger on it. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day/night.
Yes the old guitars are fantastic. They were built with love, by happy people. One of my all time favourite is the Yamaha No.1 (1963) the first model Yamaha built to try get into the guitar market. It’s an all solid guitar. And it smokes most modern guitars ;)
Yes I agree. Every time I walk into a guitar shop and pick up the most expensive guitars and then pick up a vintage guitar. The vintage has more character and tone then the newer models. Maybe just me or my ears ? What do you think ?
@@ernestsantiago6700 yes. There are several reasons why vintage guitars sound better and I have mentioned them in some of my videos. The 3 main reasons are: 1. The wood is better 2. The labour was better as labour cost was cheaper so they spent more time in making the instruments and 3. The guitar has been “shape” by many players, like an old pair of shoes that gets softer and more comfortable over time, so do guitars sound better if they been played a lot.
Hi sep78, thank you for the interest. You can find the price, info and more photos here. The price is negotiable. Thanks. www.neiltasmusicshop.com.au/store/p57/Yamaha_FG-122_Folk_Guitar_1976.html

Is this a solid back/side? I found one in our local online store also circa 1970s
No. It's laminate back and sides. :)
