WW is literally the villain here, every time supes starts to think about his actions, she jumps in and influences him to do the wrong thing.
You’re not wrong. Without her, he would have turned away from this path eventually. She kept even simple kindness from Arthur away from him. She isolated him so he could be the weapon she thought the world needed.

@@harrambou9468 I think she had feelings for Superman, at least subconsciously, and moves in on Clark while he's grieving over Lois. She encourages him to lean on her emotionally, and pushes away anyone else who might counsel, comfort, or advise him. She lies to Clark about Aquaman offering to advise him on how to be a king, attacks Martian Manhunter when he tries to reach Clark's humanity and empathy, cuts Captain Atom's throat when he tries to appeal to Clark's patriotism. Just basically acts to remove anyone who might come between her and Superman. She even betrays her Gods and her father, Zeus, in favor of Superman.
@@woodrobin True, she's basically an entirely different character in this story for the sake of the plot (the writer himself admitted this).
But a funny thing to note about the whole 'romance' sub plot between Superman and Wonder Woman is that it seemed like Diana loved Superman not as a person, but as a tool. She admired him as a weapon of change, and lusted for his affection because any sign of love he showed her basically confirmed that he was HER tool.
In other words, THIS version of Wonder Woman was just your average warrior. Thus, it's a warrior's honor to have the biggest most dangerous weapon on the battlefield, and what better of a weapon than Superman himself?
This was the only way they could think of to write Martian Manhunter out of the story line otherwise he’d stomp everyone. Fire doesn’t kill him, it hurts him mentally.

@@crowmen2972 the way the fire weakness was originally supposed to work was that there was a mental block put in their mind that made them fear fire when in reality it would put them into a berserker mode. Most modern writers probably don't know about this though

How the hell did Superman even burn off MM when he was inside of Diana who looks unscathed, like MM was on the surface of her skin even though he went inside her body. This was the dumbest way to kill off Martian Man Hunter along with Shazam getting man handled with eye beams to the skull like it was nothing.

He weak minded to me, I know he accidentally killed the person he loved most but to switch up and give up on your morals to the point where you're willing to kill your best friends. That's just kind of soft mentally like Martian Manhunter his whole species was wiped away you didn't see him kill all the white Martians or even Batman, Batgirl was paralyzed and raped, Jason todd was tortured and blown up, his parents were killed right in front of him. Yet he still never kills he could've taken down the whole justice if he wanted .

The writers made both of them too weak. MMH is only scared of fire but it won't kill him. Shazam is a literal pantheon of gods in one being. He has the power of 6 gods/demigods yet he's so weak.

You know, in literally every story MM gets bodied because someone has access to fire. You would think that he would have some sort of tech to at least help prevent him from feeling the effects, but no, just a skin tight suit like everyone else. I know it makes sense for him to have a weakness, but it's not like superman where his weakness (kryptonite) is a very rare resource. Practically every character has access to fire so whenever theres a story where MM can do something, fire is always what puts him down.

I totally agree. Shazam''s one ability is complete invulnerability in his transformed state. You can't kill him, you can overpower him, and knock him out, but death cannot reach this form. Man its so annoying how writers handle superman, green lantern martian manhunter and shazam should all be on par and be able to go toe on toe with superman but most writers dont seem to think that. It really makes the DC universe alot less interesting and its frustrating

WW of this universe had Steve be a Nazi who than slaughtered some of her sisters. It's a close copy of the main universe but with subtle differences. Damian was much older here than in the main, and Lois was pregnant unlike main Superman's lois. WW was literally made to be hated here she was the driving force of Supes anger she fell for him but he had Lois, than when Lois was gone she took her place.

@@Elijahhh. I think deep-down, J'onn wasn't trying to kill her, but rather force her to see the truth. He wanted both her and Superman to REALIZE how much pain they were causing, and wanted them to FEEL that pain.
With Superman, he attacked him emotionally, trying to make him understand the true toll his actions could take on a civilization.
With Diana, he attacked her physically, literally putting her in so much pain her blood vessels began bursting, trying to make her understand how much fear and anguish her violence brings upon people.
Diana was used to standing tall over humanity and forcing them to lick her boots, and J'onn basically tried to show her how it feels to be one of them.
(* On a side note: Man, every time I come back to this series it's really baffling to see how out-of-character Wonder Woman is compared to the rest of the 'heroes'. She's basically an entirely different character in this story.)

I think Manhunter chose to appear as an olive branch. Meeting at the table to talk. Yes he could have done the same thing while intangible and invisible but would Superman have trusted it or just seen it as a distracting tactic?

The writers just wanted to take MM off the table because of his potential. He could've phased through Diana before Superman burned her. He could've made them fight each other using his mind. I hate it when writers remove a powerful character because they can't think of ways to incorporate them into the story. Regardless, injustice is still one of the best DC comics story.

Her heat tolerance isn't as great because she usaully uses the shield against his heat like most of the time aside from the bracers so no not heat proof at all.
What bothers me is that they never seem to acknowledge that this is Superman’s first kill of a former ally, they seem to give that distinction rather to the time he kills green arrow.

It really sucks that Martian Manhunter went out this early he’s powerful enough to take out the most powerful members of the regime without pills and was a vital piece to have with his ability to disguise himself as other beings. Idk what the writers were thinking when they wrote this.
Martian Manhunter needed to be written out of the story before he solo’d the Justice League.
Martian Manhunter & Captain Atom were some of the few beings that could legitimately stop Superman...

Fire does not actual kill him it makes him stronger he just thinks it hurts him which is why he does from it but if he pushed through and wasn't afraid he would be able to weild it and use it to give him more power causing him to be unstoppable
I dont even need to watch the video to know how this is likely to play out. Manhunter is an incredibly versatile and powerful hero, esp in roleplaying games ... but his breadth of incredibly useful powers is well counterbalanced by a catastropic weakness to fire. Superman already has a decisive advantage in strength, speed, and invulnerability, but adding in his powerful heat vision moves any head to head encounter from big advantage into the entirely one-sided category (absent the element of surprise and guile of course). So, without the advantage of a really good writer favoring him, Manhunter would face a VERY steep uphill fight against an evil Man of Steel.
Speaking of balancing limitations, Superman has a biggie besides kryptonite that people often overlook ... his deep seated sense of honor and decency, which causes him to always pull his punches. Writers who negate that by switching him to evil or mindcontrolled have to balance the loss of that limitation by slowing him down, and making him arrogant, rash and/or downright stupid.

A while back I did have the advantage of having been in (and occasionally GM'd for) a long running RPG group (1987-2000), and I'd sometimes played one or the other (or both if I was the GM) on quite a few occasions ... either was a good change of pace from my default choice of Guy Gardener (it's great escapist fun playing a jerk with a power ring, trust me ... I hated reading him, but I enjoyed chewing the scenery playing him), or occasionally Dr. Fate. For the times we played Marvel (we rotated amongst 8 different genres), I was usually either Dr. Strange, Thor, or an original occult character I'd created, depending on the needs of the story.

He'll have his mind shut down before he knew wtf happened and MM doesn't have a weakness to fire the elders of the universe installed that fear into every Martian so the whole planet of them wouldn't morgh in to evil godlike beings that can enslave universe's with the greatest of ease fernus mm when he realized that fire shit was a lie enslaved every body on earth . Basically heat vision ain't stopping Martian man hunter. He should be writer's first choice to stop any evil version of damn near every hero but I guess that will make the story boring
@@thagawd6302 Everything I said was 100% true. Granted I stopped heavily collecting comics 15+ yrs ago, so i'm not up on whether or not they've since retconned MMH to remove his fire weakness. It would make little sense to do so from a purely character balance standpoint, but ive seen writers do some pretty stupid stuff over the decades, so I cant rule it out sight unseen
Meanwhile, it is YOU who are wrong about MMH being able to use his telepathy to easily mind control Supes. First of all, as of the last time I played DC RPG (c.2000ish?) his power rank in that particular ability was middle weight at best. Second, Supes has fairly hefty mental stats (intelligence and especially WILLPOWER) that'd give him a very high opposition/resistance factor against such an attempt. Keep in mind that Supes mental stats are fully on par with, or better than, the average rank and file in the Lantern Corps, regardless of color. He can, and has, repeatedly weilded rings to considerable effect, so from memory (and for the sake 9f discussion) i'd put his innate talents with the ring somewhere in the 'light heavyweight' range ... and full heavyweight if he spends extended time practicing. Add those two factors together and the result is that there is little chance Supes would be a "walkover" for MMH's telepathy. It's one thing for MMH to use those powers for character development and investigative purposes in order to advance a story plot, but it is a different matter entirely to use such things to defeat someone in combat (aware and resisting) with hefty mental stats like supes, much less claim it'd be a walkover.
Color me skeptical at best. If this were in the DC RPG, and supes was aware and resisting, you'd have to first successfully push MMH's telepathy to a much higher rank, and then you'd need to roll doubles, followed by a pretty strong roll, just to achieve a temporary success at best, and then Supes would (after a short while) have a relatively non-difficult check to break free of it.
Bottom line: your idea of a walkover by MMH is a pipe dream IMO.
Ishmael Mitchell one problem, will power, Superman has a lot of willpower. He might have gone batshit (lol get the pun) crazy but untill Lois died he had to hold back his strength everyday for almost everything, for him living on earth is like living on a soft paper planet he had to control himself everyday emotionally/mentally and physically. If he gets even a little bit angry and flicks a criminal the wrong way they get smushed into a blood puddle and die, he catches or saves or even just walks into someone with his strength and density they will get injured, how much control and will power does a man that can keep that kind of restraint on himself for so long have, id think a lot more then most if not everyone in the league.
Just imagine, Batman tries not to kill but he doesn’t pull his punches against criminals as long as they don’t get permanently injured or die but Superman has to do the same and pull his punches as much as possible, he has to concisely subdue himself from doing things at a normal lvl for himself so that people can live around him without getting harmed all the time.
And one more thing, it’s funny how people always say/think Superman is weak to magic but that’s not how it works, he gets effected by magic like a normal human would as he doesn’t have a defense against it but he also has a healing factor so yes he still gets less effects from magical harmful spells that attack his body, if it’s to turn him into a goat then yea he will turn into a goat cause as I said no defense just very fast recovery. Basically if Bats and Supes get hit by the same spell they would both get the same lvl of injury but Supes will recover much, much faster, it’s that simple, especially under or close to the sun (even more so under a blue sun) so their u go.

I hate this. His weakness isn’t heat, it’s literally fire itself. Superman’s heat vision isn’t fire, it’s heated energy beams. I don’t care what the writers say, MM isn’t dead and is just in hiding.

It would explain a lot if it turned out she's either taken over or replaced. In fact it could be she rigged the whole Lois Lane death event. Gave Joker the idea. Gave him the kryptonite and the fear gas.

I just figured out what's wrong with the "Injustice" timeline: you can see Batman's eyes through the cowl. In the comics he always has opaque/mirrored eyepieces.
Fire is actually only a psychological phobia/fear of MM,but when he got rid of it it changed his genetic memory and turned him into fernus,which is an OP mm thats stronger than superman and has tons of new abilities and shit

Superman murders MM and no one questions it, this is year one and Superman murdered a member of the Justice League. Batman or heck anyone brings this up ever, sure in the game it's revealed he's alive by pretending to be an Atlantean scientist but to the rest of the world he's dead. WW is the real villain in this story, she literally goads Superman into being worse every step of the way, doesn't tell him anything that can emotionally help him, and any time he reflects on his actions she's there to stop it.

To all those who say MM's weakness to fire is pure psychological they're wrong. They are vulnerable to fire and this plays out in several mediums. For example the movie Doom and Young Justice. It's even listed on the Wiki that this is where he died. By blasting WW he was attacking MM as well and while she could endure it MM couldn't.
