When u use shea butter on ur scalp it prevents ur hair from getting moisturized and congests ur scalp that’s why they say that. It’ll still work ofc but ur hair can get dry overtime and it’ll grow a little slower
@@lolabunny1935 That's why it's good to get the hair slightly damp first so the shea butter will seal in the moisture. And also using a small amount to prevent scalp buildup.

Not really lol I have some straight backs in my head right now and it’s been a few weeks. Doesn’t take much at all. I wash my hair with the braids in and grease it down afterward.

but shea butter is used as will for the skin so it wont harm the scalp specially dry scalp.. i have etchi dry scalp because i can't help but wash my hair every other day and the shea butter helps .. but you just need to rince it after that if you have a greasy scalp

@latofatifa8395 I think it's not about the dryness. Shea butter is really good for your hair but when used on your scalp, it can create build-up and clog hair follicles because it's heavy. So at least, must be used moderately
Not for locs the butter dries and forms flakes in the locs had to learn this the hard way
