Was quite "smitten" with the C4 'Vette when it debut in 1984, but was just outta high school and so buying one at $30k was not in the cards. Fast forward thirty-eight years and I finally got my paws on one in the fall of 2022. LORVET the Corvette, named after my wife, is an '89 in "arrest me red" and she's a lot of fun even though she can be a "finicky critter" from time to time, but that's how they are and for being thirty-five years old, she runs great! Enjoyed the vid! Many thanks and may God bless you!
Well at least she was inside somewhere inside instead of left parked outside she looks really good shape for her age I do admit I like those wheels considering they are not factory.
@@bucketofcarz you will have it back on the road one day it just takes time at least you have a shop I'm driving and restoring mine and it's parked in the yard I don't even have a car port lol. It is what it is.
hello fellow canuck. 1. roller started in 87 2. the odometer doesnt change. if the rpo sticker in the rear storage compartment driverside (its there i saw it) has z31 and z49 on it< it is a legit canadian car and that odometer is klms. 3. the air leak sound is simplly the air rushing past the iac in the tb 4. there is a cowl drain udder behind the battery 5. interested in selling the green vette?
Hey and thanks for the comment! you know your vetts! I will have to check the decal, but I am thinking it is a US car with odometer in Miles. But I will confirm. The teal one is rollerized hense I thought this one might be...but it also has a built motor so.... good to know about the 87 ;). Gold one will be sold, have a couple things I will need to do to it, and the teal one might be for sale as well. We do things as a family of 4 for the most part. hard to travel in a vette.
Thanks. Yep its always good when they work out this way. Got another score in my latest video ua-cam.com/video/yWDJseIUJrs/v-deo.html. Please subscribe!
Side post battery is definitely have their place, especially on something like a Corvette where you are limited on space. It's a Chevy as long as it has, fuel compression and spark it will run.
I cringed as you bent the battery cover without loosening the screw on the bottom. If you do that, it slips right off and the battery slips right out. I don't even retighten the bottom screw.. once the panel slips into place and the other screws are mounted, you don't need that bottom one to be very tight to be secure. You are lucky you didn't break the bottom of the panel off.
@@bucketofcarz I just want to advise you and your followers that it isn't as hard to loosen that bottom bolt as you seemed to let on. An open end wrench does the trick and it only takes a couple short arc turns to loosen it. Because the bottom hole is slotted, the panel will slip out of the way easily.
You are right about those stupid GM side posts...... I have a 2004 Corvette Z-06 Last year of the C5 & first year with top (battery) post! New Subscriber
calling any corvette ugly is a bit sinful. C4 is only an acquired taste that only the most sophisticated and minimalist (and 80s obsessed) men would understand. lol. anyway, all that car needs is the dash elements to be hooked up and it could be flipped for decent money probably. --Owner of 1985 and 1994 corvette.
I disagree. If the side post was on just one model that had a really tight space, then sure. But do not tell me that you needed side post on a 78 3/4 ton. you have enough room under that hood for a giraffe riding a unicycle! They tried to reinvent the wheel, and it failed. Newer vehicles are tighter for space and they have reverted to top posts...
@@bucketofcarz I’m just speaking on the vette. Now that I know it was on those trucks, the answer is most likely that they got them cheaper by buying them in the millions. I never put it past GM to make an aggravating decision based on cost to them.

These cars never fail to impress me.
Old school cool , affordable muscle

Yep, its pretty clean.

Congrats. This one has since been sold but I have another one.

I had a 1972 with chrome bumpers,
That was the last year bud,
In 1973 they put plastic on the front,
And in 1974 they put plastic on the back.
1970-1972 were all almost identical
63 split window or 67 coupes👍👍👍👍👍

The roller cams started on the 86 corvette pace cars. They had the aluminum heads.
you are correct about the aluminum heads but incorrect about the roller. roller started in 87 as stated above.

You can convert any "normal" battery to side post with adaptors for $8 and if the battery is small enough, it fits in a corvette C4.
