I was born in 1948, Brooklyn, NY, fabulous time to be alive.
    The youth today is clueless.

That's probably what our grandpas said about us. The problem with today's society is lack of accountability and no consequences.

@@everready19373 Our grandpas probably said we had no accountability and no consequences. I remember getting our first family TV. Black and white of course. Things always change. Always did always will. We always had new tech throughout our history. I wish it would go faster. I'm tired of cars that's old stuff. Snap of a finger to go somewhere would be much better, quicker and cleaner.

@@samanthab1923 - You’re right, Brooklyn has changed. I look on Google Earth, the section I grew up in has remained stable, has not changed much except for the price of homes. My dad paid $11k for our home, a nice brick house, in 1957 in Bergen Beach. Today it goes for $800k. My grandmothers apartment building in Redhook sold for 2 million a few years ago. It’s renovated now and is nice, but was old when I remember it. It is two blocks from the East River….10 minutes to Manhattan. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
I won’t go back to visit. I’ll keep my nice memories.

@@slightlycrafty - I was born in ‘48, Catholic school all through to high school. I was a 12 year old high school freshman, 16 when I graduated high school. As I recall, or was told, after the war, there were lots of kiddies, schools were crowded, especially Catholic schools.
I was skipped a grade, I was never in the fourth grade. I look back now and realize that was not the best thing to do. I was too young to deal with some of the high school life. I was a “late” developer. It was difficult. Some nuns were mean.
I do miss the simpler way of life though. My husband and I have too many gadgets, passwords, plugs, cords….our car talks to us! Alexa won’t shut up. Lol
One photo of me I HATE….I’m wearing brown and mustard yellow plaid, wool, elephant bell bottoms. Good grief.
      I loved the video.

After having such loving parents and wonderful memories of growing up I definitely thought my marriage would be the same lol there were my first mistake.. he was not ready to be married liked to hang with the guys in bars being Catholic school girl I was a very late bloomer.... By the early 70's having fun in bars was cool but that time we were divorced.... Remained friends for 55+years until he passed away three years ago;! He was a big chapter in my coming of age!!!

Your title should actually say " MY" 1960s, really. Anyway, I hope you had a good life. The 60s were my school years, when music and neighborhood fun was the best ever. I used to love going to Vegas and California in the late 70s. My dad had a 1952 Chev and 1960 Olds and was a GM mechanic.
