Love how WWE excuse for not have custom stages and even custom colored ropes is due to “budgeting” when they’re literally making the most money they’ve ever made
Oh those did look sick. I also liked 06 with the chains connecting to the padlock with the tron and the No Way Out logo across the top it’s simple but i really like that one.
This video is as close to listening to a conversation I had with my friend as ever. Not a single stage mentioned I hadn’t talked about. I’m a HUGE fan of the MSG door screens they had at mania 20, and SNME. I was HYPED when they added mania 20 in the game just for that. But yeah bro WWE dont have identity anymore sometimes but ay we still watch / love the product. Def subscribed btw
Just recently came back to watching WWE, and I’m so glad we’re past the days of every stage looking the same unless it’s Wrestlemania. Summerslam 2015 comes to mind for me
Watched this video with my husband and he went down a rabbit hole & we’re now watching the Men’s Royal Rumble 2003 match (cause it turned out to be pretty decent lol) cause he had to see that water set/stage! lol 😂 (btw first time watching/commenting & I had to subscribe, great video!!! All facts!!!! Had us lol the whole time 😂 )
Man I was waiting for video like this. I was absolutely obsessed with the creative stages in wwe. I used to cut up card board boxes when I was younger and build them myself for my wrestling figures. Really miss those days. At we still have wrestlemania.
I loved the Vengeance 2005 with the Vegas themed stage, No Way Out 2006 with the giant lock, SummerSlam 2007 with the beach themed stage, the giant cellphone stage for Cyber Sunday 2008 and the Royal Rumble 2009 stage was so cool P.S: WrestleMania 33 & 39 had some awesome stages too IMO
Love this video dog. I was always a huge fan of the PPV set pieces. Now that I’m older I understand it took to long to set up so I understand the basic stages now. But this was an awesome era. Wrestlemania 20 was magnificent. Royal rumble 2003 also. 💯💯💯💯
W video. Love that TLC 2010 got some love. Cena using the set to bury his opp, was peak Cena fandom for me lol. The LED era really had made things easier for WWE but damn, we lost creative stages. I felt this change since the Royal Rumble 2014 was the first RAW set PPV they did.
No Way Out ‘08 & ‘09, Elimination Chamber ‘10, ‘11 & ‘12. That tron to the side, surrounded by a big elimination chamber cell is dope af. Vengeance ‘05 in Vegas, where the mini tron is a poker chip on side of the stage, the entrance is through two dice, the titantron is the las vegas sign, and the match card is shown with 2 cards above the tron. Every time RAW went to another country in the Ruthless Aggression Era, they’d always switch up the stage, and it’d be great as well. Cyber Sunday ‘08 being a cell phone, the tron was the screen and the mini tron was essentially where the play button was. Hell in a Cell ‘09, where they had them enter through part of a cell.
SummerSlam 2007 had a clean beach vibe feel to it which I appreciate. Survivor Series 2001 and 2004 were also my favorites Royal Rumble 2005, 2006, 2007 all had creative distinctive themes and looks. Honorable Mention: 2013. WrestleMania 2000 - 21 were all creative distinctive stages too. Honorable mentions: 23, 24, 25, 26, 28. Can't never the ECW One Night Stand arenas. No Way Out 2002, 2003, and 2004 were all good. Didn't mind the later ones but those were iconic. Invasion had a cool distinctive ramp showing each company having their own ramp entryways. King of The Ring 2001, SmackDown Fist, and Armaggdeon Stages always goated For WCW, Halloween Havoc 1998 with the giant inflatable pumpkin SmackDown ovaltron was creative Raw 05-06 with the tv side stage panels were cool. Can't deny Raw 2000-2002 Other honorable mentions: Backlash whenever they have the swinging scythe piece was dope, Judgement Day 2002 with the tombstones was fire, Taboo Tuesday and Cyber Sunday was very dope and creative
For me SummerSlam 2007 for once ACTUALLY looking like a beach. No Way Out 2006 is a simple stage but the chains connecting to a Giant padlock connecting the Tron. Simple but really good. Vengeance 2005 with the Vegas themed with the dice looked nice. Finally, Backlash 2002 with the swinging hooks looked SO AWESOME
@@XThreeeeOH yeah that was sick too. Since your previous videos talked about match graphics those were some of my favorite. Any talent that had an “E” in their name, being represented with the three lines.
10:00 they actually did do that in 2005. During the draft in the summer they ran a lot of “Supershow” events which saw both shows being taped the same night. It looks hella good with the shards instead of the panels!
XThreee came into the toilet while I was taking a shit, took the toilet roll while rambling about God knows what, and walked out. Can someone bring me a fresh one? I'm kinda stranded here
Honestly, set design isn't just a WWE issue, that's a wrestling issue in general. Everyone seems to want to go for the big LED screen or the same set for all the shows
It just shows the “corporatefication” of WWE. I might be thinking too much about it and I know its not that deep but lately they have been having very boring, basic, and bland stage designs, graphic design, merch designs, theme music, etc. They are a million dollar company, it wouldn’t be hard to drop a pretty penny to make stages cool again like it was before.
I feel you, a apart of me has been noticing they're SLOWLY doing different shit with presentation so aye I wouldnt be surprised if we get some different stages here and then
They need to find a way to make smaller creative sets. Cause imma be real, looking at cyber sunday, if i had a seat behind the tower id be fuckin tweakin
Some of my favorite stages are always the Backlash ones with the grim reaper hooks and one year they had then bitches SWINGING I was losing it. Top tier stage.
Ok here me out the raw 2002-2007 stage was goated I know people love the smackdown fist but the big tron and side panels and double screens was good especially the last time they had it before Hd
I think Saturday nights main event. This past weekend was a good compromise. As far as stages. When it was static. It had the lights, and that Oldschool staging kind of look, but then once the wrestler came out, they put on the Trons and shit, and it was just back to like regular screens and LED stuff
Why🤔, they moved on from that is time consuming and they put more fans in the arena because those type of stages was 50% covering up empty seats now they sell out them there every night and they wanna make more money
I agree. All PPVs look the same. Even with Summer Slam, Rumble and Survivor Series. Which is BS. This is why I also barely watch these shows now. Plus another problem is that I can skip a year of wwe and nothing changes and people call it long-term story telling like WTF??
A few reasons why the don't have elaborant sets anymore: 1. Those older Attitude/Ruthless Agression Era sets are terrible looking on the HD and 4K cameras 2. More cost effective to utilize the digital trons 3. They want to pack in more people as the bigger sets block out seats
"This is the most profitable era in our history" yeah cause you're slapping ads everywhere, which i don't mind, but at least spend some of that money on the presentation. Wwe shows used to have a legit stage and ramp.
Nerd shit but i would draw dream stages. I went to art school and my first dream job was stage design for wwe. My disappointment was high when they went to the HD era during the same time 🥲
Love how WWE excuse for not have custom stages and even custom colored ropes is due to “budgeting” when they’re literally making the most money they’ve ever made
No Way Out '03 and '04 with the WWE logo lock on the side, and the chains around the trons that had the "No Way Out" on them was a top five stage.
@@JimmyFnDaro I was definitely thinking about adding those it was so sick
Oh those did look sick. I also liked 06 with the chains connecting to the padlock with the tron and the No Way Out logo across the top it’s simple but i really like that one.
The toilet paper mic😂

6:38 bruh this too real 😂 😭 i remember using anything i see as my stage.
So many core memories unlocked from this vid
Summerslam 08 stage went triple platinum for creating fake wrestlemania arenas in 2k games
That and wrestlemaina 31
That and wrestlemaina 31

2008 Was my favorite year for stages. The Rumble and No Way Out weren't anything crazy, but the rest were all fire.

The smackdown fist is my childhood
This vid definitely brought back memories lol. U should do one for your favorite Wrestlemania stages!
It’s for sure happening on the road to Wrestlemania !
back when summer-slam still had its own personality
I’d also include WrestleMania 33. Great video!
WrestleMania 39's stage was just..... Beautiful✨
I loved the Vengeance 2005 with the Vegas themed stage, No Way Out 2006 with the giant lock, SummerSlam 2007 with the beach themed stage, the giant cellphone stage for Cyber Sunday 2008 and the Royal Rumble 2009 stage was so cool

Back when WWE used to be so creative and them stages used to be so cool🔥
Dang ,bro you could do a part 2 on this video this was dope🔥🔥🔥
Glad I wasn't the only one that looked forward to the stage setup. I miss those days so much. King of the Ring was so hard. WM X7 is coated
that smackdown with the fist is so hard
Just found you, instant sub and totally agree with all this! Ruthless aggression hit different with the stages and honestly the music too
Sumnerslam ‘07 stage was so cool
wm33 just does something to me man 😭😭 🔥 like i've seen so many photos from diff angles and it's so dam good
I was there, whent with my dad, was alot of fun

Bro I was at SummerSlam 08 - coolest shit ever and like you said, it makes you buy into the theme - Biggest Blockbuster of the Summer
Extreme Rule and Summerslam 09 has underrated stages
Absolute travesty that One Night Stand 2008 didn't make it into SvR 2010.
Bro to hyped he bout to have a Joy gasam😂😂
Backlash 2000 and 2001 with the goddamn hooks and shit goes crazy. It's definitely in my top 10.

Summerslam 08's stage crawled so WrestleMania 39's stage could run 🔥
