Might be worth your while to get several cans of dry gas and try that also check where your gas inlet is it could be leaking from there when water is rough or it's raining
"...not that big of a deal; we just have to cut the floor out..." 😲 Was a little worried about you, hadn't seen an upload in awhile; glad you're OK. IDK what is it about boats, it's like their blursed or something.🤷. Wish I could help. Anyway, excellent video, as always.
Chances are Heiko you have a fuel line pinhole between engine and fuel tank. You should have an access panel to the tank. A check would be is to disconnect fuel line at motor and at fuel tank. Pinch off one end and get a vacuum gauge and pull vacuum through the hose. If it won't hold vacuum, then it is in the line itself, not the tank..
Water in the fuel can be from a few things. Don't leave the tank partially filled. With the tank being vented, temperature changes will produce moisture. Cap the filler neck, vent hose and apply a couple of pounds air pressure like from a bicycle air pump to the fuel hose supplying the engine and see if it holds pressure. If it holds pressure, the fuel system is tight. I've seen lots of boat fuel tanks have water leak into them from the filler neck having a cracked or missing gasket. Easy check. The vent hose would need to be disconnected from the tank. If you add a gallon or two of methanol to the fuel tank, it was absorb the water into the gasoline. Don't go off chasing your tail until you run the simple tests I typed above.
And drain that filter daily till you find the problem . those etecs do not like water! O ya get a Yamaha you wont regret it. mileage alone makes it worth it
Man, I envy that clean ass water. Texas is rarely laid down - 3ft most of the time. Can't go out a lot because my 22 tidewater gets pounded. Was just in Key Largo and I dreamed of having my boat there.
Heiko, trailor your boat, call a friend or anyone that does boat repair, and get a fuel pressure test done. It's very easy to do. You need to make sure whoever is doing it knows how many #s of air to put in it, it's just pinching off your fuel lines and putting the pressure gage into the fuel fill, about 3#s of air for 30 minutes. If the gage drops, get the soapy spray bottle out re pressure the tank and spray.tank and hoses as well. I have done this, and the sucky job of cutting out the fuel tank. Hope this helps.
2 relatively cheap things to check before thinking about replacing a tank. There is a fuel filter screen at the bottom of the fuel intake down in the bottom of the tank. It may be gunked up and restricting flow at high RPM. There is usually an easy to get at access plate covering it. Do a quick check of that. Your boat has some age. This happens occasionally. If it's ok and your tank is just full of crap there are companies who will come to your boat and "scrub" your fuel. It's less expensive than dumping a full tank of gas. They suck out your fuel and run it through a series of separators and filters and return it to your tank with the crap removed. I've replaced tanks but only when they developed pinholes and leaked gas into the bilge. Open up the bilge and stick your face down in it. If there's a leak you'll smell it right away. There also may be a restriction at your anti-siphon valve. Also easy to replace. If thats the problem don't just remove it. It's a safety device and required
I love how in every video a fish slips out of your hands, I just laugh every time. I can't figure out if it's on purpose or if it's accidental. Either way I love your videos keep up the awesome videos
Your gas tanks after leaving that station should not be yellow in color of the gas. If the tank truck drops gas and has extra ethanol blend, they are probably dropping that in the Rec90 fuel. When the tank truck drops gas the water and sediment that maybe in the main tank can pump into your tank. The pump does have a filter for the sediment, but the water could pump into your boat. Warm gas into colder ground tank causes condensation into the main tank! Like a cold glass of pop and warm on the outside of glass to cause condensation, but that is happening on the inside of the main tank. Try some Heat like alcohol additive or ethanol additive! Should evaporate from the tank, it's not the same alcohol as ethanol. Might work in tank and save you money my friend! Additive in tank let sit for a few days run gas out! 🤔
LMAO Heiko I was waiting for the "Thu-THUNK" of you colliding with a kayaker when you went off on your precision kayaker detection system rant. Glad to see it is just as accurate as you claim. Undefeated! 😂
Heiko, love that your content is coming out fast and furious! I know that you're busting your ass to keep all us entertained. I just want you to know that your hard work is very appreciated. When I'm down in October, I'll buy you a few beers!
Your boat's fuel tank is vented to the outside. That lets water condensate in your tank every night. Open up the access panel on your tank with the boat on your trailer. Then lift the tongue of the trailer a couple feet so that the fuel and heavier water collects at the back of the tank and use a hand pump to empty the tank. Refill with fresh fuel and enjoy. Running an engine on fuel with water mixed in it, like happens when you run in choppy water, will destroy the engine. Drain it once or twice a year and you'll be good
Heiko, I love your content and your sense of humor. I have been watching you for about 4 years now. It’s not easy doing what you have to do in order to get that content out there, along with having boat troubles. You are among the few other South Florida people I follow . I would love to visit that area one day and go fishing, however, in truth, it’s probably to late to do such. Hugs to you and keep up the good work!
Heiko if your still having performance issues I doubt it’s air in your fuel tank your supposed to have air I’d look at your vents make sure the are clear (mud dobbers ) if clear go to feed pipe pull out of tank see if pickup is rotted of cracked ant the check ball is working (located in barb) then check rubber hose to water separator. Air in the tank it’s not!!!
My husband and i would like to thank you for putting out such great and entertaining content!! You have been a big part of our inspiration, we have started our own channel and posted our first 2 videos this week (even though rough around the edges 😂) we created a 4 part video series of our honeymoon adventures to the Keys!! Thank you so much for inspiring us and being such a joy to watch over the years!
Heiko awesome video buddy lots of action on the water, beautiful area of water where you were fishing. Nothing wrong with a few worms more protein lol. Have a blessed day. Aloha from Kansas
More videos!!! 💪🏽 bro we got cought in a nasty storm and thought of u and Dan as lightning crashed all around smh I never wanna feel like y’all again 😂
hey heiko did you know that when you have your engine trimed up that high the oil drains slowly because i have a evinrude 150 and my oil drained out and my engine kept on shutting off
my fuel sender was my problem i pulled it up resealed as well as resealed my inspection hatch that was above it and never had an issue since with water in my fuel. maybe the o ring on your gas tank top as well
Hico here’s a suggestion for you get clear containers. If you’re gonna gas up at a gas station you’ll be able to see the water in a clear container. I had to do it myself the red containers you can’t see nothing just food for thought I go to bed guess is definitely coming from the gas station. Where are you buying gas
Heiko, in regards to the fuel tank the water buildup is probably from the boat sitting in the water full time with humid air. i would completely drain n clean the tank if possible. check the tank vents on the outside of the boat aren't clogged with salt. I've seen clogged vents stop a 383 stroker from running properly lol . also check the Anti Siphon Valve on the tank itself. if those go bad they can give you problems. check the condition of the filler cap seal/Oring too! you should Absolutely put a 200 or 250 on the boat :D
I have a friend who was just in the Keys with his boat and he bought gas contaminated with water. You might just have the same problem. Also you can get a water fuel separator filter with a clear bottom and a drain valve so it's easy to get rid of the water
I watch your videos because we have the same boat and i charter fish, I enjoy your videos but for the love of god get a trollin motor. I’ve watched you for 3 years now lol. Tight lines man keep up the good work!
you are looking about 3-4k for that tank to be pulled and replaced. Is it a poly tank? its really hard for those to go bad if it is.On the west coast of Florida we eat AJ'S mostly smoked or a heavy wine sauce. on the east coast they are too wormy and we throw them back.
A.J.s are good eating. They are good fried blackened, grilled, or smoked, really just about any way you cook them! Just cut out the worms if it bothers you.
Don't cut the floor out. You can run line under the floor without going crazy. Electrical run line down walls all the time. They don't tear the walls out. I can do it but mechanic in Kee Largo can do it.
I know your boat sat unused for a while it was out of commission . Did you drain the fuel tank before using it again? How much fuel was in the tank while it sat? If the tank wasn't full, the water most likely came from condensation, not introducing bad fuel into the tank. I'm sure you know your tank is vented. So the humid Florida weather will get into your tank and introduce water thru condensation. I'm in the middle of the state and it happens to my boats. You live right next to the water so it's going to happen to you even faster. The old school of thought was to leave as little gas as possible in the tank due to gas breaking down. But modern fuel lasts much longer so it's best to keep your tank full. With less surface area in your tank for condensation to occur, you'll get less water in the tank. I say less because, with a vented tank, it's impossible to keep all water out in Florida. So keep it full, add a stabilizer, check and change your fuel/water separator often, and you'll have less trouble with water in the tank. As you know, water is heavier than gasoline so it sinks to the bottom... right from where your tank pickup pulls fuel into the motor. Even a little water at the bottom turns into almost pure water when sucked into the motor as you first start it after it's been sitting. Trust me I dealt with this countless times before I wised up. Now, ii a boat has not been started for more than even a few months, I will disconnect the fuel line at the motor and suck out a gallon or two of fuel into a glass jar. Even though a use 93 octane ethanol free fuel, I almost always find enough water to cause a problem. Before you start chasing air leaks between the motor and tank, drain the tank completely and fill it with fresh fuel.
Change your gaskets on your filler cap for your gas tank. Same thing happened to me. I kept getting water in my gas and that’s what is was. Small little cracks in the rubber gasket. $2 dollar part.
Just want to know out of curiosity since I just got a 22 ft pathfinder and I’m wary of taking it out to the first drop off for some mahi and such, do you get service out at that 100-150 drop off and would you recommend a 22 ft pathfinder head out there?
Heiko I love your enthusiasm and excitement brother it's why I started watching you in the first place!!! some of your best videos are.when your just out enjoying yourself fish are just a bonus lol
Check first the fiel cap o ring , or its posible you have a filtration on the tank also look for a fuel smell on the bildge area , if you smell fuel its bad tank
Yo Heiko, The water separator filter should be removing all the water from the gas before it goes to your engine. If water is still getting through, you will need to change the filter. Check all your lines, make sure they are in good shape and check your ball too. Man that almost sounded weird 🤣🤣🤣🤣 That sucks what happened to your fillet knife. Time to get a replacement one lol I know many people who love eating amber jacks. Like all fish, can't overcook them. Same with chicken breasts. Got some stuff coming to you when I return from Antigua. Cheers mon 🤙
The Greater Amberjack is one of the most if not THE MOST underrated eating fish. Makes excellent fish dip too! That's not my opinion, that's a fact Jack 😂😅
It's Vincent again it's been that long u must have did a makeover on your boat last time I saw one of your videos u didn't have the Tower nice rig and awesome video
If you still hv fuel problems buy some seafood add 1 can to 25 gallons. It displaces water and cleane gas tank. Try it you will like it. I use a can every 4th trip
You need to pump all the fuel out of your tank. Put in few gallons, then pump it out again. Replace all filters fill er up and see how she runs. Might need to have your tank cleaned
Love eating AJ's. Very versatile fish. I like to cut into half inch fingers and my kids tear them up. Best fish sticks ever. Also good for grilling or smoked for dip. Great content! Cheers 🍻

❤Love it.... Awesome video❤
AJ's are very underrated, tastes great and no harder fighting fish out there. We call it combat fishing for a reason.
We need you to test out the PISCIFUN VALTIX JIGGING REEL, SLOW PITCH CONVENTIONAL REEL!!
Always a good day when he post 🤙🤙 and I’m waiting for the kayaker evil plan 😂

Heiko nice AJ bro, good to see mouse hanging around, its been a while.

Same! Perfectly said.
Excellent video. Love your sense of humor. The footage and editing is topnotch. Thank you for sharing and all the best to you.
Not an expert but there should be a viewing port under your leaning post. Could be the gasket at the pickup from the tank. Water can leak in.
Hari yang menyenangkan dengan sensasi strike yang luar biasa... Mantap 👍👍👍
I have a friend who was just in the Keys with his boat and he bought gas contaminated with water. You might just have the same problem. Also you can get a water fuel separator filter with a clear bottom and a drain valve so it's easy to get rid of the water
Great video!
I definitely keep AJs. My favorite is on the grill teriyaki style.
I watch your videos because we have the same boat and i charter fish, I enjoy your videos but for the love of god get a trollin motor. I’ve watched you for 3 years now lol. Tight lines man keep up the good work!
Awesome video man!! Great day!!!
Very nice blow by blow comentary on the AJ fight. that water was so clear and blue, beautiful.
Awesome ! Epic video 🤙

Great video. Any way you can do a video review of the piscifun reels?
Just want to know out of curiosity since I just got a 22 ft pathfinder and I’m wary of taking it out to the first drop off for some mahi and such, do you get service out at that 100-150 drop off and would you recommend a 22 ft pathfinder head out there?
I love amberjack dude, thx for this awesome vid
Brother these are the best videos I love captain. Dan too but u out there just being u is the best
I wouldn't mind coming down and going fishing with you
Heiko I love your enthusiasm and excitement brother it's why I started watching you in the first place!!! some of your best videos are.when your just out enjoying yourself fish are just a bonus lol
Check first the fiel cap o ring , or its posible you have a filtration on the tank also look for a fuel smell on the bildge area , if you smell fuel its bad tank
I was wondering where you’ve been !
What rod and reel are you using to jig with? looks like an awesome set up :)
That daiwa BG mq Is beautiful with that black line and rod
shockingly amberjack in louisiana don't have worms for some reason.
Yo Heiko,
The water separator filter should be removing all the water from the gas before it goes to your engine. If water is still getting through, you will need to change the filter. Check all your lines, make sure they are in good shape and check your ball too. Man that almost sounded weird 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That sucks what happened to your fillet knife. Time to get a replacement one lol
I know many people who love eating amber jacks. Like all fish, can't overcook them. Same with chicken breasts.
Got some stuff coming to you when I return from Antigua.
Cheers mon 🤙
I would have your tank drained and pressure tested, the test would be able to test for any leaks in the tank without ripping up the deck
Seafoam
You need to pump all the fuel out of your tank. Put in few gallons, then pump it out again. Replace all filters fill er up and see how she runs. Might need to have your tank cleaned
beautiful one Heiko.
Yea Boy
Love eating AJ's. Very versatile fish. I like to cut into half inch fingers and my kids tear them up. Best fish sticks ever. Also good for grilling or smoked for dip. Great content! Cheers 🍻
