Such a beautiful transformation! If you’re curious, the person who designed the pattern of your curtains is Michael Petherick from Doing It Ourselves on UA-cam. I think he shared about it in a recent video where he’s selling prints of the pattern! 🐝
I actually certain the pattern of the curtains was designed by Angel Strawbridge. She designed it as a hommage to her husband's 'potagerie'.
@@AMcb-ij5vn Apparently I've only heard recently from Chateau LaLande series, Stephanie who knows Michael Pretherick, he worked with Angela Strawbridge on this project.
I thought watching the Strawbridges on Escape to the Chateau programme, gave me to understand that she did the design herself without Michael
He now sells his stuff online and has done work with Stephanie I believe
He’s talked about how she stole from him. He’s an amazing illustrator and fan of Beatrix Potter.
Lovelyyyyy sure would enjoy staying there haha - for your drapes- I do love the fabric. If ever you want them longer then you can put your name on the waitlist for the seamstress and have them sew on a strip of fabric - like sage green for example and they can trim out all the drapes with fringe to tie it together.

I would add a solid band to the bottom of the drapes and then they would be the length you prefer.
The fabric was designed by a guy called Michael Petherick, but is marketed as Angel Strawbridges brand, I have the kitchen apron in same fabric.

I love the way that Roxie plants herself right in the middle of what you are doing! And, yes! Your drapery fabric was indeed designed by Michael Petherick of “Doing It Ourselves”. There is a disappointing story involved with his experience with the Strawbridges of “Escape to the Chateau”. They basically undermined Michael’s rights to the design in some way (I don’t quite remember the business details of it all) but Michael was, in essence, shafted by them financially. As I result I have boycotted them (as if that would make a big dent in their lives but …, well, you know) from my viewing pleasure (part of which includes your wonderful vlog, Maddie). I love your new room and can’t wait to see your master bedroom’s transformation. All of the rooms that you have done thus far are an absolute delight!
Your courtain fabric was actually designed by another youtuber!! His name is Michael Petherick and his channel is called Doing It Ourselves. I think they were on chateau DIY for a season since he is restoring a chateau in France with his family.
You can always sew on a bit of solid colour fabric onto the bottom of the curtains maybe. As long as its the right colour it can look intentional. A bit of piping or hem btwn the 2. 🤷♀️👍

You could have a piece of fabric added to the bottom of the curtains to lengthen them. A muted green velvet for example would look good.
What an absolutely charming bedroom. I adore the curtain print and it ties in beautifully with the wall paint, the wardrobe and bed pillows. Your guests will feel so special. The antique dresser and side table perfectly set the bed. The sweet lamps, ceiling light and delightful artwork just make for a cozy space. Well done!!!

SO, so cozy! 😍 I bought an Emma mattress after having my son as my back was in bits and it was life-changing … could not recommend them enough! I ended up working with them on a pillows promotion and now I am so obsessed with my pillow from them that I take it with me when we stay in other places/houses! 😂🙈❤️

You seem so happy and light-hearted in some of these clips, no idea ofc if the camera caught the truth there but it made me smile so much!!! Also I love the end result, especially how you kept furniture and also decoration to a minimum, it reminded me of your other house so much - I actually liked how you left some of the walls empty, it gave me lots of minimalist spirits and I personally think you could totally leave it like this (but ofc if you like it more with more decoration go for it, I'm sure it'll be lovely as well)

Why do I love the layout of this room? Because it’s EXACTLY like my bedroom. I have the same proportionate furniture pieces too…tall wardrobe, big chest on one side, small table on the other, bed facing the window…same! The room is lovely and I, too, have been playing with prints. Great job! Very inspirational, thank you for walking us through the process.

I'm an Anglophile from Massachusetts, and I so enjoy your videos. This guest room turned out perfectly, and I think it was a good choice to place the bed opposite the beautiful window. Now I want a pink room too!
Add a foot of fabric at the top or bottom, with trim if you want. Its pretty and drapery's can cost the earth! A rocking chair needs more clearance than I think you have.
So lovely 😊 for the curtains I think it'd look pretty if you attach lace fabric to the bottom so it goes all the way down to the floor :)

I love the curtains and actually like the way they are the same length as the radiator. It looks planned and very neat. Easy to keep the floor swept under them.

You guys did a fabulous job with the room. When you opened the curtains, I thought that looks like something Angel at escape the chateau would design, they are lovely. And match the bedding so well, you did a nice job with the pattern matching.
I absolutely LOVE the paint color in your guest room. I've decided to use that very same color in my bedroom... I have a cherry wood four poster bed and I think that color will look gorgeous with my furniture...thank you so much for sharing this makeover. I would have never found this fabulous color if you hadn't found it first...well done.

You can add a panel on the bottom of your curtains in a complimentary solid color to add length.
To make the two lamps on the side tables,set the lower one on a book or two.

Looks beautiful Madeleine, i had a nightmare last week trying to get a lid off a tin of paint, tip if painting ceiling with a light up, as long as light doesn't need to be on, u can tie a black bag around it to stop paint getting on it x
Lovely and inviting, warm, cosy room. I think that the curtains work at the length they are, because they are in line with the bottom of the radiator. Looks like it was done purposefully and that they aren't short.

You are a like a Pro, I’d get paint all over the carpet. I used plastic and draps and still mana bed to get paint over my floors. I really dislike painting. Yep that color you chose is beautiful and also looks great with your skin tone!

It looks so good! According to my amateur Feng Shui studies, I think you made the right placement of the bed. I also enjoyed seeing the dogs keeping an eye on things by reclining in the only spot to walk. Mine do that.

You should feel inspired! The room is so lovely, especially the wall colour. I've had drapery panels that were too short. I added a band of gathered coordinating fabric across the bottom. My grandmother called it ballgown. She also had a tip for water rings on wooden furniture. She mixed mayonnaise and ashes, applied it to the water ring, let it be for a time, then wiped it away. More than one application may be necessary.
How beautiful, bright and cottagey. The mixed prints are perfect! The curtain length doesn't look bad either. Instead of a picture on both of the other walls, maybe a full length mirror on one to reflect how pretty everything is. 😊
You can lengthen the curtains really easily by letting the hem down at the bottom and adding a wide complementary coloured piece of material, if you ask a local seamstress or at the local material shop they will be able to help you get the right colour by picking up accents from the colours in the curtains, you can also add the same colour on the leading edge of the curtains so it flows a bit better when you look at them. Done properly you won’t be able to tell they were extended at all. The room looks amazing and I love the colour on the wall 🥰 you have a very good eye for putting items together and I am always impressed with each you have done. Xx
Love it the only thing I may have done different is having the wardrobe back on the wall to the right as you walk in to free up the plug socket behind it. That way someone cause plug a hair dryer or something in and use the mirror on the wardrobe.

I know I'm almost a year late, but you could simply add additional fabric at the bottom of the curtains and make it kind of a statement (e.g. striped fabric). Matilda Goad has is in her living room and it looks stunning!

I love all the prints put together! My daughter has just had her hall plastered and I really liked the new plaster colour and now I can see how it looks in a room. I am a fan of Farrow and Ball too. Dulux Trade is good too. I think it has more pigment. I like to have a bed facing the window whenever possible. Your guests will love staying over!

She didn’t actually design it. It is Michael Petherick’s artwork. He has a UA-cam channel ad well and is an amazing artist.
Yes there was some controversy over this 😩 and I wouldn’t buy for that reason
You could turn the cupboard on to the wall on the right side. Then put the chest of drawers next to the cupboard in between the door. Then put small bedside table and rocker chair in the corner where the chest of drawers currently is. Have another rocker where the chair is with a narrow hallway table on the wall between the chairs. Then put a large horizontal mirror on the wall above the hallway table. Another vertical mirror in the wall where the cupboard currently is. Then you need another memory foam pad on and the same size as the window sill (covered in the pinstripe colours like the lampshades). Or instead of the rockers you could put lush bedroom statement chairs...
For the curtains, you can just get a coordinating fabric and have a small edging panel stitched to the bottom to make them the length you want. It would look really cute, too!

I paint our interior too. Watched you painstakingly paint corner of ceiling and walls " Time Consuming UGH"
Here's a trick I use. I tape off ,4-6" from ceiling down creating a border painting it same colour as ceiling.
Gives the appearance of crown molding and a breeze to paint that tricky corner of ceiling to wall
I always get compliments for it's look.
