I think these were stellar figures - the soft goods were next level - to this day I've never seen such awesome layered soft goods on figures. They totally pulled off the Medieval vibe and I liked what they did to the Sheriff and Warrior to make their robes/capes look like chainmail. Kenner's reuse of Star Wars and Super Powers was very creative - both Robin Hoods and the Sheriff are two characters from the Kenner Super Powers line - I know Robin is built from the Green Arrow, go figure! Oh, the irony. A couple notes: they planned a wave 2 of these figures that addressed your concern for more enemies - they made the Celt Leader (good ol' Pat Roach!) from the forest village attack and he had furry soft goods and his hammer ax! Very cool looking figure. They also made ceremonial Azeem in white robes with red accents and they made Sean Connery's King Richard with all kinds of fancy looking softgoods and helmet. That was their Anakin Skywalker in the line - seen for 2 seconds, but so cool to collect. There were TWO new Robins as well - a combat Robin which was essentially him undercover with his leper's robe but they finally gave him a dang sword! (and mace, oddly) then there was a real treat - Flaming Arrow Robin, with totally cool new soft goods deco and flame arrows he could shoot with his bow - SO awesome. No Maid Marian though or Guy of Gisborne (the Sheriff's cousin). Another totally forgotten aspect is the role play stuff they made. To me, a toy line is NEVER complete without some role play gear. They made Robin's sword and a dagger set. I own them - they are incredible quality plastic, super thick and durable for kids swinging them at each other and at trees. They also made a very crappy, but fun, Nerf-style bow and arrow set with a quiver to keep the foam arrows. I don't own the quiver, but I have the Bow and Arrows. It's really hard to use, but they wanted to make it look like you were placing the arrow on the bowstring, and you do, but it kind of plugs into a plastic piece that inserts into the back of the arrow. When it passes the bow, it just ends up flopping over instead of shooting out. It may be because mine has a worn out string, but I still love it and the concept of it was great. They should have improved the design, because every kid wanted a bow and arrow after watching Robin Hood back then!
@@tydiriumhanger1320 I love that Retroblasting used this version of the ewok village in place of the original one because this one actually had greenery on the tops of the trees and looked more believable for their homes. I wonder if that version was cheaper to buy back then because they reused the design and it was for a movie that didn't command such a big licensing fee. It would have been a great way to pick up a cheaper Ewok village if you didn't have one back then.
Such an awesome toy line here is some re use stuff for the line Green arrow body and bow = long bow robin Green arrow body = cross bow robin hood Robin body + desaad legs = will scarlet Shazam body + unknown legs = Azeem Gamorian guard body = friar tuck Hawk man body + batman legs = little John Lex luthor body + green arrow arms + chainsaw's head = sheriff of Nottingham Hawk man body + unknown legs = dark warrior Ewok battle wagon + ewok catapult = battle wagon Ewok village + tomahawk (from swamp thing) crossbow on fences + new tree tops = Sherwood forest playset Hope this is useful for you to know where all of the re use comes from Reused from: Super powers Star wars Robo cop Swamp thing
I had all of these as a kid, including all the playsets. Lots of fun when I was 4 or 5 years old. The Sherwood Forrest set was my favorite. Had a net underneath it to trap people as well.
Hey Mike, since your order from Showz, about how long does it take to get the package on average? I placed my first order last month and it still hasn't shipped?
Good video, but I think dropping the background music or at least varying it with another from the film score would have been good. Hearing that same track looped throughout the entire 14 minute and 44 second video got a little bit tiresome.
Also just started collecting this line. So fun.

Thanks for all the great info! Would love to see a wave 2!
Crossbows are from tomahawk swampthing for sherwood forest playset
Nice collection. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is a great movie. I bought it on DVD in 2006.
Alan Rickman was so great in this movie. But goodness my man...is there any old you line you DON'T collect?!?! Hahahaha
Thanks for a great overall look at the line!
I love the addition of the Gamorean Guard in that group shot.
That is so weird that they reused so much. The Sheriff was also a reuse. Thanks

Such an awesome toy line here is some re use stuff for the line
Green arrow body and bow = long bow robin
Green arrow body = cross bow robin hood
Robin body + desaad legs = will scarlet
Shazam body + unknown legs = Azeem
Gamorian guard body = friar tuck
Hawk man body + batman legs = little John
Lex luthor body + green arrow arms + chainsaw's head = sheriff of Nottingham
Hawk man body + unknown legs = dark warrior
Ewok battle wagon + ewok catapult = battle wagon
Ewok village + tomahawk (from swamp thing) crossbow on fences + new tree tops = Sherwood forest playset
Hope this is useful for you to know where all of the re use comes from
Reused from:
Super powers
Star wars
Robo cop
Swamp thing
I still get a chuckle knowing that friar tuck underneath his robes is a gamorrean guard
They are all made from the superpowers line, robin, green arrow, hawkman, and lex luthor
That is such an interesting reuse of molds. Thanks
Beautiful toys😱😱😱

I know it is quite randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to watch new movies online ?
@Larry Jaxon Flixportal :P
@Liam Messiah thanks, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :D I really appreciate it!!
@Larry Jaxon No problem =)
This is quite interesting, I gotta admit that I never had a chance to see this toyline in our town when the movie was released.
Love Kenner and what they did with this line. Wish they make more figures though. Thanks
Someone chopped down the tree where he met guy of gisbourne
Just so you know That thing that holds the arrow is called a quiver
I had almost all of these except for Tuck who I think is the most rare. I always thought the line needed Maid Marian and Richard the Lionheart.
Lionheart was planned in Wave 2, fully sculpted with soft goods. It just never went to production, sadly.
Maid Marian and Richard would have been awesome! Thanks
@@ia5662 What could have been!
Guy of Gisborne was also sorely missed.

I still have Star Saber that has not shipped yet but Sheridan took over a month to get here.
20 to 30 dollars isn't cheap, especially in a pandemic.

The sheriff of
of Nottingham Necklace was repurposed for the Batman the Animated Series Two-Face figure
I have this figure 6:35 👍👌💯.
I do toooooooo
