    Cheers for this, relatively new to hobby, but refuse to pay through the nose for proper MD spades. Just about to start making my without much thought but so glad I found this. Simple things like full size template first, only cut out one side to ensure perfect symmetry. Only change I will make is using double sided tape to keep template in place each time.
    Once again, thanks for taking the time to produce and share.

      @@WALLACE7084 I've completed mine without the serrated edges. What are the benefits apart from self protection 😀

    • @WALLACE7084
      @WALLACE7084  5 років тому

      Bob Dunn apparently it's to help ripping through roots as it works like a saw so can be handy around trees but that's just up to the individual, so of your happy without the seated edge that's fine. happy hunting.

    That is outstanding, if shipping wasn't so much, I would love to have one of these. It looks like this would make it so much easier to dig while dirt fishing, being handicapped and all. Nice job. Semper Fi

      This is as you say a problem with the size it would probably be costly to post and it would also need to be tracked and signed for that will also add to cost. and thanks for comment.

    Absolutely belting job that mate, so many people nowadays either cant be arsed or just rush and do a cowboy job, you can confidently be proud of your work on that, just ordered a spear & jackson stainless border spade to have a go myself. I'll be well chuffed if it comes out as nice as yours.

    Back inthe 80's, my Dad( Operating Engineer for Kraft Research ) made 3 Golf Clubs..2 drivers at 7 & 10 degree lofts and a Putter.. Using the shafts from our former Clubs.. after some fine tuning to and from the driving range? They were Super, but Banned from using with is League.. I tried to get them Patented with no luck.. 3 yrs later guess what came out into the Market? I have them Mounted and on display.. Them WWII Navy Guys are always thinking..;-)
    When I got a Elec. Power Scooter? I hooked it up to my Small Lawn Mower and then Proceeded to Ride around my small ( 1500 Sq Ft) yard to cut the Grass for the 1st time in my life.. and the wife and kids didn't have too and I didn't let them do it after that..and Started my Own LM business.. Of course Playing on the Wounded Vet routine, but Had gave 20% Discounts and would cut EOW not Every Week that is what we all wanted.. I got dozens calling and asking me to do theirs..I've since Got a Ryboi Cordless LM and Trimmer and got 25 Customers and Saving them $ and making it for me and my Family and have my Pride again..

    Hi great video and really cool result , Can I ask you if there is any way anyone can get the template ? The reason I ask is I would like to have a go at doing one myself , I do not know if you would charge for this ? I just think it is a great idea . cheers

    • @WALLACE7084
      @WALLACE7084  3 роки тому

      The template would really depend on the size of spare you have if it was the same size as mine it shouldn't be a problem.

    Hi I’ve just cut my digger to size do you suggest the teeth going upwards? Thanks

    • @WALLACE7084
      @WALLACE7084  3 роки тому +1

      Yes if you mean like i have done it basically works like a saw blade with the teeth facing forward to make the cut.

    • @TheYjmfan
      @TheYjmfan 3 роки тому +1

      WALLACE7084 thanks very much my one is tempered steel. And that’s how I’ve now marked them, ready for cutting.

    • @WALLACE7084
      @WALLACE7084  3 роки тому +1

      @@TheYjmfan good luck and just don't rush it. Its always better finishing off with the file to get a nice neat line and the right angle all along, its surprising how much material a good file takes off. I just keep filing until each tooth becomes a blade but dont grind it down to a blade with a grinder or you will have to keep filing after they become blades to get the grind marks out and may mess the teeth up. I now have made a belt grinder that speeds thing up as I grind most of the material off with the belt grinder to the point just before it become shape leaving a bit of a flat edge on then finish off with the file to get the edge and the perfect angle. 👍

      RIO DETECTING I do sell them for £45 and pickup from Wigan area as or post and postage cost added on. I do have one ready for the shaft but would need to know the full length required from top of handle to point of blade. Also the one I have ready is the other blade I show in the video, the round neck one, not the strap one.
