Can someone please help me with this? Since siesmic waves originate from the hypocenter ie focus then how do siesmograph calculate the waves through epicenter( as if they are originating from the epicenter)

Woh with respect to surface k bare me hai ki surface pe waves epicenter se nikal ti hai
Sir if waves occur at 145 degrees then shadow region will change or not
Is surface wave vertical? So why we feel horizontal movement?
surface waves are not vertical but they are perpendicular to the focus and show horizontal effect on surface as the surface is also perpendicular to focus
this is my answer i am not sure weather it is right or wrong ....!!!!
