DO NO BUY. It disconnects all the time and it spent HOURS trying to reconnect in vain. Worst purchase I've ever made. So frustrating.
Same here. 2 years with this camera but it disconnects too much. Not sure if it’s my WiFi or the expensive worthless camera
Bought a few. Complete disappointment. It disconnects frequently, and you need to do a complete reset to getting back online. Total waste of money.
I own two condos and bought three Logitech Circle View cameras a year ago to monitor both locations. I bought an Apple HomePod for each location to serve as the hubs. It’s a complete disaster! Cannot consistently see both locations when I leave. One will disconnect, then the other eventually, then they spontaneously reconnect. Only about 10% of the time can I see both locations on HomeKit app simultaneously. The other 90% I’m seeing the location I am physically in and not the other, or visa versa. Tried every setting, reboot imaginable, no smart plug would fix this. Internet research shows this to be a common “dealbreaker” issue…many Reddit threads. Do not buy this camera to surveillance two locations at once. Do not buy this camera at all, frankly. Thanks
logitech circle view dont buy ..go On and OFFLINE can not imagine this is Homekit suitable for this kind of money ...very very bad logitech
2 cameras bought in early 2023 via apple website, located in the same room, connected to the same router, one would work the other would go to "camera not responding" mode all the time. customer support is awful. would not replace it. instead of taking responsibility, they would just ask you to waist time trouble shooting your router etc. I'd go with another brand.
I have had the same issues, that’s why I just use the smart plug to restart my camera whenever not responding shows up. Will upgrade in the future for sure.
Buy a new one, and return the one that isn’t working.
DO NOT BUY
It used to be very good but it has been a few months that it just records randomly.
It's always LIVE but it only records a few hours, at random days. I tried to factory reset, change internet provider, nothing fixed it.
I have cheap blink cameras and they never disconnect. I am shopping to upgrade and bought the Logitech Circle. Did not know it disconnects. That is a deal breaker. Has this been improved recently?
Yes, I no longer have the disconnection issues. I never saw a software update but something definitely changed.
Excellent video, thank you so much for the tip about the smart plug. All the best to you.
No Problem! Thanks for stopping by the channel!
I get so many disconnections lately 😞 I hope the smart plug trick will work. When I come back home, I unplug it and plug it back in, yet it still looks offline. I need to remove it from HomeKit, reset the camera and add it again in order to make it work . I also see that face recognition does not work either, it used to work fine, but not anymore. It is toggled on in the settings, access is granted to the photo library, I have even given names to faces of people known, but still, all I get is ‘a person has been detected’ ☹️ Any idea why? No other HomeKit cameras at home. Thanks for the video
So I have noticed that for the facial recognition to work correctly, the camera should be put very high up or in a dim place, otherwise it will detect a person and not tell you a name. The closer the camera is to the person, the bigger chance that it will recognize the person. The smart plug trick is something I use in an automation and it works perfectly.
Logitech has the worst customer service, I have the same problems.
I just replaced my Nest Camera setup with LiveView and it’s a dream. As an iPhone user having them all within the HomeKit and not spread across multiple apps is very convenient. So for I’m in 2023, it’s a yes! Now for a decent door bell camera (with battery) replacement.
Look at the Reolink doorbell. Definitely the best one out.
Not Recommended. Logi camera disconnects all the f time… it’s annoying. I’ll try to put a mesh… i hope this solve it
Worked fine for a while. Then It bricked itself
I had the Circle 2 on my front door, and recently replaced it with the Logi Doorbell, and moved the Circle 2 to the backyard. I've always had problems with the Circle 2 disconnecting randomly. Sucks to hear the newer Circle View also randomly disconnects. Luckily there are more options now that work with Apple's HomeKit Secure. Gonna test out one of the Arlo options, which have recently dropped in price too.
Do not put devices directly nest to routers. There is ton of possible interference and such that can occur
Thanks for the review and comments. It sounds like the camera is good and the software buggy. I have a Google nest cam that’s being phased out. In 2024. Google keeps bugging me to convert from nest aware to Google home. No thanks. Good fair review.
Spot on. The camera is good when it works. I left nest for homekit, just wish that HomeKit had more options for accessories.
Disconnects all the time. Do not Buy
NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT! WAY TOO MUCH MONEY FOR THIS PIECE OF CRAP! Expensive! Too heat sensitive! Speaker? What speaker? I guess if the person you’re talking to has Superman hearing!
I have six of these for about 2.5 years now, 2 have failed completely (all indoor use), and the disconnects are pretty bad. What is worse is that the automatic recording doesn't always work. At least a dozen times I KNOW there was activity and the cameras did not record it. Kinda defeats the point of paying Apple for the 2 TB icloud to support the cameras if it doesn't actually record everything.
If you want some beta level product and enjoy troubleshooting random issues, totally get these.
In the other comments, you answered as if the problem of disconnection was resolved with the logi firmware update, but is it completely resolved?
Yes, I haven't been having any issues the past few months. It seems they pushed an update to the camera, because I haven't changed any network hardware, network providers or any of my Apple home hubs and it seems fixed.
Is it correct that there is no problem that it can't be completely connected even if you don't turn on and turn off the product with a smart plug?
I'm a foreigner, so I use a translator, but I don't know if the meaning was delivered properly.
No worries. Yes you're correct. You don't need to use a smart plug to constantly restart the camera.
@@zanevtech Thank you for your reply!
@@itishahaha no problem!
Hello, wondering if this camera still constantly disconnects? Or did Logi come with a firmware update and it’s resolved?
Honestly I haven't noticed disconnections because I have an automation with the smart plug that reboots it daily, so now it just works.
How long into owning the camera did the issues start?
The issues started like 6 months after installing. They progressively got worse until I thought of putting a smart plug behind the camera’s plug.
Thank you so much. Help me a lot !
I’m glad I could help! Thanks for stopping by the channel!
Hilarious that they design this to be wired but instead of using ROMEX or high voltage in-wall wiring, they use a USB cable that requires a little brick. This is useless for a real security installation where the wiring should go through the wall into in-wall wiring. Any thief just needs to cover their face, cut the cable, and they're ready to do what they do.
