I can’t stress enough how good you two are together in this show. You can feel the care and the love of comics come through you both. Thanks for putting these out!
I have bought comics since I was a teenager, I love taking my daughter and letting her get books too. I don't plan on making any money from them, the conversations we have about the cool comics we read that week is more than enough. I really hope she still likes then when she gets older, thank you so much for making these videos. Normal people look forward to Fridays, comic book people look forward to Wednesdays! you can use that as your video outro for free, haha. have a great day.
been buying comics since 1969, and the DC horror is incredible, especially with the Neal Adams covers..House of Mystery and House of Secrets are beautiful. those issues are very sought after and rightfully so. i Love marvel Silver Age and Bronze as well. my first time watching you both here, i'm subscribing. great job on this.
I typically watch your channel on my desk top computer but when you said "Bronze age horror" and started showing Unexpected, Hom, HoS I had to switch to my 55" TV. I just love so many of the covers from these series. HoM 195 is one of those. And while my top 3 artists for these series are the same, the order I've put them is different (mainly due to what I can afford). Secrets of Haunted House is another great title. Thanks for showing more Adams, Wrightson, and Kaluta.
Kaluta had some fantastic covers. It didn’t help that he happened to be on a series that had two of the most respected artists in comics. I like some Cardy too, and there are a few of his covers that I thought were fantastic. Glad to know there is another bronze horror collector besides me. I keep finding other things that match my taste now, and there are so many things I am being exposed to that I have really fired up my collecting itch again. Feels good!
Love watching you guys bc I like most of the same covers! I really do enjoy the older horror covers. Mystery, Tales from the Crypt, Dracula, Unexpected etc…
DC I s the king of horror but there are a few Marvel runs that I also appreciate around this same time period. Tower of Shadows and Supernatural Thrillers are two Marvel runs with great artists and incredible covers
When I was a kid, somebody gave me a big stack of musty comics that included Marvel Team-Up number one and two. They were super beat up but at the time I just loved them. Loved the stories + loved the covers. Maybe someday I will get a nice copy of those.
Hi guys! Just found your channel and I absolutely love it. We seem to share love of silver and bronze age cover art. Lately I have been in a slump with buying and making viss. Probably due to the fact that here in NJ I can't seem to find high grade copies of what I love in the wild. Watching channels like yours renews my enthusiasm. I appreciate your content. I have about 50 vids on stuff I collect if you are interested. Keep up the good work!!!
Your video really cheered me up after I found out I have to get a m r I for my liver plus take thyroid medication and see a specialist. Thanks very much Dave
That’s awful Ronald. Best of luck with that. I’m glad me and Rachael could be part of your day today. That means something to us. Thanks for the message, and please keep us updated!
I'm a cover junkie and send books to be graded that barely have any value sometimes. I was 14 when we lived in Denver (Arvada) when Marvel Fanfare #1 came out and I bought two copies at one of Mile High Comics store at that time. (Think Chuck had 6 locations spread out the city and one in Boulder)? Anyway, I sent in the best of the two Marvel Fanfare #1 to be graded, about 4 years ago. And it came back 9.4 with "Michael Golden signed on first page". I'm assuming he signed a few hundred copies before distribution?? My other copy I bought at the same time is not signed. Fun fact?
Man, that is exciting stuff. I’m sometimes surprised at what books I like and the sentimental value some books have to me and how much something like a hidden signature can actually get me really excited. Great story!! Love it!
You’re right, I always seem to leave things out. I have to work on that. I sometimes forget that everyone doesn’t know all of this stuff. It’s funny, but I don’t think that the swamp thing prototype has driven that price, but I could be wrong.
How do you get grime off? Sometimes a book with that white spine looks great, but there is grime / dirt on the spine that is just stubborn to clean up. Anything special that works well getting dirt off a white spine?
We are in the process of putting it up. It will probably take a while, but o will make sure the information is on our channel. Feel free to message us with my want list you may have. There is information on our video description on how to contact us.
really do not wish to offend too much but i would like to ask a question . what actual content on your channel do you provide except that any books below a 9.8 are not good enough for you ? i do not to presume what kind of person you are but mabey i am missing something also on your commentary on godzilla king of monsters # 3 you said you love a silver surfer cover but it was actually iceman from xmen on the cover just sayin . nuff said!
It was a mistake on Iceman. I’m not a big X-Men fan. I like high grade books, I sell high grade books and I invest in high grade books. I like those types of books because they are hard to get, and sometimes rare, and it’s an increased challenge.

Great show. Your new slogan “Not a 9.8 throw it away”. Ha ha. You can throw 9.6 books my way. Save your trash can space.
Nick Cardy is a legend. He is so underrated and I love his horror output. To each his own.

Love that Thor slab. 2 things you can never go wrong with…silver Marvel and bronze DC horror. Especially the early stuff
Love the video. Enjoy the history lessons on books I don’t collect and love the horror books
Fun to watch and cool books.

Check out todays video!
What an awesome haul. Unexpected comics are nice,I don't have a complete run yet, but soon. Awesome

@@futurepastvintagecollectables Bronze horror is such a great rabbit hole to go down. Secrets of Haunted House #16 is a cracker of cover by Kaluta.

good stuff
Love the Bronze Age horror books.

Only gold age marvel is good DC blows marvel out of the water in the bronze age an sliver age

I only recently discovered your channel and I am going to Grit City. I will swing by and say hello :).
Please do!

A 9.6 FF 187 is nothing to sneeze at. That is a really tough black cover.
I’m happy with that! It’s a really nice book.
Awesome books. Ever come across any high grade DC war books? Love to see them if you have any.
I am always looking for them, especially the silver-age stuff, but Weird War tales is something I could collect if I found solid copies.

I had no idea he had signed it. The other copy was a reader, still yet in nm condition.

You should of shared with your viewers why House of Mystery #195 is so expensive. :)
You’re right, I always seem to leave things out. I have to work on that. I sometimes forget that everyone doesn’t know all of this stuff. It’s funny, but I don’t think that the swamp thing prototype has driven that price, but I could be wrong.
@@futurepastvintagecollectables Aside from the classic Wrightson cover, the swamp thing prototype is the driving force for it's high value....
