Musical genius. Want 'Woodbrook' played at my funeral . Condolences to Michael and all his extended family on your immense loss. I am sure he is resting in peace.A gifted soul who is still giving to us all and for ever.....Lost my Dad a few weeks before Michael and am sure they are having a big chin-wag in heaven. Rest in peace to you both.Love ye for ever xxx
He was a genius on the piano’ and was a sort of Sean O’ Riada for our time. He was taken too soon’ and had more to offer.
My hands down favourite performance of his. Ní dhéanfaidh muid dearmad ort go deo, a Mhícheál.
RIP Micheál. A gent and a friend. Such an enormous loss.
Journey well, Micheál. Thank you for such beautiful, evocative music. ♥️

Thanks for posting. I have a tape from long ago that I recorded of Mícheál Ó'Súilleabháin playing The Three Sea Captains accompanied on bodhrán on the radio programme, An Fáinne Óir. I became an immediate fan at that time. At last I have put a face to the name of this genius.
