I miss when open-world games were mostly single player. Now, everything is linked to a server that will inevitably be shutdown at some point. 😔
I own 7 open world games for my PS5, none of them are linked to a server. I think you're confusing open world games with live service games.

The problem is that a ton of new open world games that are coming out all try to be the same copycat fantasy survival shit, it's a super saturated market at this point
Dragon's Dogma 2 not being on this list is insane, been waiting on the game for 12 years, first game is still amazing today.

I feel like this video was recorded ages ago and only released just now to add content for their "one a day" video. Since no mention of Dragons Dogma 2, and them referencing DS2 as having "one trailer only" when it now has 2, and it definitely comes out 2025, not 2024.

While i do prefer it if the names are in the timestamps, i understand why they usually don't do it. UA-cam is all about watchtime and when people just skip to the part they want to watch, the channel gets less watchtime.

Really wish a triple AAA company would make a third person open world game set in the Warhammer Fantasy Old World. Playing as an Empire mercenary travelling between cities, villages, forests and mountains. Skaven, Chaos, Beastmen, Greenskins, Dwarfs, Elves and more in the mix.

Light no fire is my most anticipated game, just because of how dedicated the team was to making No Mans Sky into everything they promised

I had no idea about the Gothic remake, that's cool. There were a lot of games from that era that I was unable to play when I was growing up that I'd like to circle back on (like Wheel of Time for PC). On another note I'm strangley intrigued by Project Mugen. The art styel, combat, and overall gameplay looks fun.

Wow, someone really has something against Dragon's Dogma over there. Even without being interested in it, objectively, it is one of the major open world releases currently verified for 2024. Instead, what we got are a few games that, at best, only rumored for 2024.

Little Devil Inside 😩 This game is so old, it was supposed to release on the Wii U. Too many games to complain about missing one, but I would like to see it release someday.
I played the Once Human beta and i gotta say, it was a solid game, stable connection, with a good story for the moment, and the game discord was full of great people helping each other
Light No Fire looks legit good but it not the 1st game I encountered to be truly called "open world". What really sells me as "True open world" are those games that says "if you see that structure yonder, you can travel to it, even if it is the highest peak of the game. " The title is Xenoblade X. I just know it because I played it before way back 2015 and it does not disappoint.

No Dragon's Dogma 2? That's a criminal oversight! Plus I can't wait for little devil inside, it looks like a very refreshing game in tone and art style, while still being familiar enough to know what I am getting. Light no fire and Stalker 2 are my other picks.

They clearly made this video a while ago and only uploaded it just now. They only used footage/info from the old DS2 trailer, and Jake sounded really optimistic about Suicide Squad when he already said he didn't like it in the review.

Surprised Dragon's Dogma 2 wasnt on the list, even though I'm more excited for Rise of the Ronin that same day, i still plan to play DD2 afterwards. Little Devil Inside looks amazing, STALKER 2 was looking great, but then they scaled down and the most recent footage looks pretty rough in comparison in both fidelity and frame rate.. i get their struggles because of where they live, but I'm hoping the final product looks better than what they've shown off a few months back

Avowed, Star Wars Outlaws and Enshrouded are my most anticipated for 2024. While I wait, I’ll play BG3 and/or replay Forbidden West.
Ubisoft's reputation aside, I'm kind of excited for Star Wars Outlaws.
And since it's between ESB and ROTJ, there's a decent chance of running into Luke while he's collecting Jedi knowledge.
Star Wars is so fucking limited. They have a whole galaxy but they only tell a handful of types of stories featuring a handful of characters.

Often, it is only in the middle of the section that I realize I find the game interesting; I need to rewind to look up the title and which platforms it's coming to.

Maybe it’s just me being ignorant of a particular style or technique, but did the knife look backward in the Logan trailer? I mean, not that it’s a big deal or anything in what looks like a super-cool game with a character everyone loves, but I think the knife may have been backward (¿question-mark?). I’m not talking about ice-pick grip, because that’s for-sure a legit thing, but I mean the actual edge on what appears to be a single-edged, flat-spined Bowie-knife is facing toward the user-maybe there’s a technique for that, maybe for tearing back out again after a stab, but that’s not a thing to my awareness. Then again, I’ve just done some Kali, and that itself has tons of variations and distinct versions, so maybe I’m just talking nonsense and it’s a thing, lol. 😅
My biggest hype is Light No Fire.
Why? Because if it works the way they're claiming, It'll be a huge step toward the future of games.

I am really interested to know more about Light No Fire. That game has really caught my eye. I am intrigued.
I really wish the option to go from 3rd person to 1st person was an option as you can VR those. Also the way rockstar did storyline and if you want online play. That is the best lots of people play solo but like the option of checking things out in multiplayer

I’m praying hyperlight breaker is the game I’ve been waiting for. The movement looks nuts, the skills/ attacks look wild, only needs a killer sound track which it may very well already have and boom.

I dont know why, or maybe it's just me but I don't think so, but for me Jake's audio track has some kind of weird reverb/echo going on?
I'm really excited for GTA 6, the quality of the gameplay in the GTA games has been markedly better every new iteration of the game, then there's the insane details and exceptional quality of Red Dead 2 I am just so excited like a kid waiting for Christmas.
When I learned that the NPC behavior in the trailer may not have been scripted, it blew my mind!
According to Rockstar's patents, they do their own thing now. Iguana guy needs money, so he's asking for it. Guy sees girl in car, wants to film her, so he does. All animations are generated in real time. Crazy! Also, I know this is nerdy, but I want to see the new water system in action too! lol
I'm excited to see a new Test Drive in the works. I cannot overstate how incredible the first Test Drive Unlimited was to behold on the PSP.
I'm very happy that a good amount of these are just including onlime co-op and not going full on live service 🙌.
Enshrouded has been one of my favorite games this year and i love it more than palworld and its still very early! The building system is so complex

#14 Enshrouded wasn't on my radar at all, as I was winding down from Palworld excitement I saw it on Steam. Read through the game description and didn't think much of what I thought was just another early access survival rpg, similar to Valheim.
Boy, was I wrong. For a game that's in early access it has an incredibly large map with a good bit of content. It needs some work but I'll definitely be keeping my eye on it.

REALLY enjoyed the Once Human Beta test
I am surprised to not see "Project: The Perciever" on this list. Considering the scenery looks amazing, looks like a emotional ride, looks fluent in the sword attacks and jumps. Seems very realistic and the music top tier so far. It even reminds many of Ghost of Tsushima.
However I am happy to see "Where Winds Meet", "Avowed", "Rise of Ronin", "Marvel's Wolverine" & "Star Wars Outlaws"
Great games but still a little bummed that there was no mention of Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn. Really looking forward to this one after I enjoyed Ashen so much.
Ark on ps5 now has a Human npc mod so its actually changed the solo game 100%. They even tame wild dinos. Saw one riding a Tappy.

My take away is that the majority of upcoming open world games have these ubiquitous transparent brightly coloured particle effects. Seems to be the go-to visual effect for this game generation
The Wolverine leaks I saw made it look like new God of War + Insomniac Spider-Man and I'm all for it!!!!
