ZOSKAY 35kg 270 degree servo - review, install, test

  • A coreless, digital, 270 degree servo. With 35kg power. Sounds cool right?
    We typically use 23kg waterproof servos in our vehicle, but thought we would try this 35kg to see if the power difference was worth it.
    Is it? I certainly think so! This might be my new go-to servo.

    The degree rating of the servo has almost no effect in RC, this has to do with robotics use of servos normally. The 270 is referring to mechanical limits of the servo and the ability of the encoder to accurately giving position info for that range. RC transmitters do not generate a signal range for this amount of range on the steering channel so you could put any servo of any rating and get nominally the same range of motion. The difference in range you are seeing is likely due to a slight resolution difference in the PWM signal interpretation between the two servos. Transmitters do exist that allow you to alter the pwm frequency range and change the angle range of the servo.

      Thank you!
      Since this video, I have tried the same servo on with my Futaba gear. With it, I can set the endpoint past 100%, and it does provide even further angle that way at least.

      If I'm understanding. You would want the 180° and not the 270° . I have both but It is one that went bad. The only way to tell the difference is the 3 colors of the wire. Other then that they look exactly the same.. .but you kinda lost me about the pwn. It digital so it should be ok

    To get 270 degrees you need to increase the end points. The reason you can’t do that is because your transmitter only goes up to 100% however you can program certain controllers to increase the end points more. My controller goes to 140% however I think the amount you can change depends on the transmitter.

    • @officialflippers6944
      @officialflippers6944 4 роки тому

    Not sure if they asked you or not but they totally used a screen shot of your video on the product page on amazon as one of the images. 5th one down I believe. Also core less servos (or motors) just mean the permanent magnets are on the inside and the windings are self supporting and go on the outside of the magnets instead of the inside like a regular dc motor. The idea being there is much less mass to start and stop as the windings aren't braced to a heavy steel core. This teamed with a digital controller which updates the signal to the motor at over 300hz (compared to a analog servo controller which only updates at 50hz) you get a faster more "snappy" feel.

    You could have tied some fishing line to the servo horn and clamped the servo in a vice. Then, added weight until it stopped lifting. Just through a maybe 90-120* swing mind you. And if you can't then the best you can do is just tell us subjectively.

    That's just as far as your remote will let it go it's not a continuous throw that's just as far as your remote switch allows it to be it's not like turn on and just continue to go and then reverse polarity and go the opposite way until it wants to stop it goes only so far that your switch allows it to but if you set it up you could probably use it as for like a winch with a different kind of throwing switch where you just reverse the polarity back and forth and turn it on and just continue to go and go and go then it would probably do that but otherwise it's only going as far as your switch your steering knob will allow it to go

    I'm no expert, tho I been in this mess for 40+ years, but to go to the maximum ends of a servo, u gotta have a servo programming box. We used to use them during my rc helicopter days.

      As far as "should you be able to use any digital servo" yes, as long as you're sending the correct signal which I believe is just PWM so you shouldn't have any issue (there are plenty of articles that show / explain the correct frequency range for servos online). In fact most digital and analog servos work the same way it's just digital is way more precise. The control signal to servo is the same (unless you buy a specific servo that uses sbus or some other type of signal) it's just the analog servo only updates the signal to motor at 50hz but the digital servo updates at over 300hz. This is crucial in some cases, this update also applies to the self sustaining angle hold that servos do. If a outside force tries to push a servo the servo will attempt to hold its position. The 50hz update of the analog servo may be to slow for what ever it is you're trying to do and the servo will allow the outside force to effect it more then the digital will.

    All radios have Different endpoint limits most servo specs are determined for robotics! If you connect different radios to it you will get different travel points! The more expensive radios have a greater end point adjustment! That tactic you have there is not the greatest radio and thats gonna limit how far the servo travels!
