Girl you crack me up I live up here in Michigan and I'm a general manager at a Dollar tree and I'm always coming up with ideas and recipes to use thank you for sharing stay warm and God bless you all
Also, the fries that are at Dollar tree can be turned into some of the best mashed potatoes! The fries are not pre-seasoned or anything. So, basically they are just frozen potatoes. Allow them to thaw out some, cut them into smaller pieces. Then boil like you would any potato. They will mash up. Add, milk, and butter and seasoning you like. I have made this quite a bit. Lol! Very good !😂😂😂❤
Brooke oh I thoroughly enjoyed watching what you made with the $5 gift card I sent you. It really looked delicious. I am making this for my husband and I tomorrow. I'm was scared for y'all being out in this weather with all that snow all over the roads. I'm glad y'all made it there safely and back home safely. You got an A+++ from me. You master the challenge. But I had no doubt because everything you make It amaze me. Take care and stay warm and safe ❤️ Blessings to you and your family ❤️
My wife and I were just talking about shrinkflation...like every time a brand puts " new and improved " on a product we feel like it shrinks..improved only for them! Right?
So true not only has the items shrank in size , some of the flavors have changed and there’s less veggies and more liquid in the cans now and even some if the cans have shrunk in size or if in a box the same size box but product inside had shrunk !! “Charge more get less” should be most manufacturers mottos now!!
Hi Brooke, love u and love all your videos! Im going back a lil bit here but I wanted to let you know that at Christmas time, my daughter and her friend and I were inspired by your shelf stable meals for blessing boxes. We dont really have that here in Canada, but we threw together a bunch of shelf stable meals and dropped them off at the foodbank. Best part of my Christmas this year. Thanks to your vids! We gonna continue as long as we can for every holiday. Thanks for being so positive and spreading kindness❤
I live in a depressed area and my Dollar Tree stores are not plentiful in the freezer section. God bless those that have to shop there to make it for feeding them and their families. Thank you to all creators that do Dollar Tree food videos!!! Thank you for sharing your ideas with us! You never know when you are going to be next. The economy is just awful and people are living paycheck to paycheck here is the USA. That is so sad. God bless everyone and your families! Thank you, Brooke!
I love the Dollar Tree Spring Rolls and Pot Stickers. I like them better than what I can get at Walmart or my local grocery stores. I live alone and have to be very frugal. I add a pkg of a rice mix or buy one of the fried rice tv sides or make my own meatless fried rice to have with half of the potstickers and spring rolls. I get 2 full meals out of three Dollar Tree food items. I make a spicy sweet and vinegar dipping sauce or a spicy peanut dipping sauce for my spring rolls and pot stickers. That's one of my favorite meals, it really is better tasting than my local Chinese Carry Out food. Anything besides typical American food and Mexican or Chain Italian food is pretty bad in my small town. Two meals for me for $3.75 is pretty good! That's $1.87 per meal for potstickers, spring rolls and rice. Add some hot deal and almond or vanilla cookies and I'm satisfied, full and happy, don't feel poor at all! When I have leftover small amounts of veggies I store them in a large container to add to veggie soup but I also keep a small container with little bits of leftovers suitable to add to fried rice or to add to ramen noodles with some peanut butter and Thai sweet chili sauce or a homemade dupe to make quick and easy faux Pad Thai, that faux Pad Thai is also really good with the Spring Rolls and or Pot Stickers. I think the Pork Pot stickers are best but my Dollar Tree has the Chicken more often.
Dear hannakinn, Please may I ask how you make your dipping sauce for your spring rolls and pot stickers, it sounds so delicious. Appreciate any reply. Thank you. Debbie and Dexter-Dog 🐶 my sweet tiny rescued Chihuahua companion living a quiet crafty life in southern California.🐶💞🏠👍🙋🧑🦽🙏🐰
This was a fun idea. I’ve got chili in the freezer I was going to get out today. I think I’ve got tots too, so day 2 of leftover chili might be chili cheese tots. I have oil left over from fried taco night this last week as well. Family will be surprised to have fried food twice in same month! Lol…I don’t like to fry often.
That is a spicier version of a British classic on my roatation: baked potato, beans in tomato sauce and cheese. Who doesn’t love some taters beans and cheese?!? Good job, Brooke!
During our cold snap, I was wanting potato soup but didn’t have any of the ingredients. However, I did have some canned chili so I had that. One of the days I when I had to be out in it I did find a bag of Fritos chips. I had corn chips and chili.
I am jealous of your Dollar Tree Brooke!!lol It has all kinds of goodies in the frozen section and the one we've got in my teeny tiny town has one consisting of 4 doors. That's it!! Really great vid girl!! ❤❤❤
My Dollar tree dies t have much frozen items either , no fries or meat or cheese mostly frozen burritos, pizzas, sandwiches not much else at mine not even any bread only mixes on the shelf to make cornbread or biscuits !
I'm South of your location, and we're on Day 5 of this insane Winter weather. We didn't just get a lot of snow, most of ours was/is ice. Our area is still crippled. LOVE chili cheese fries and is one of our favorite comfort foods too. 😊
Northeaster here, and I've heard stories of 3 separate snow/ice incidents from my neighborhood within the previous week alone. Gotta be careful even if you're experienced. Your car can literally slide past an intersection on a red light at night due to hidden black ice. It happened to my coworker once when she was breaking to a stop for the streetlight, but screamed after her car just kept on moving. Dollar tree is a good place to be creative with limited selection. You got choices like rice, bean, oatmeal, frozen veggies, tortilla wraps,etc... Then there are pre-mixes/instant-meals like can chili, cornbread, soup, frozen burrito/eggroll, etc. A good pantry is a must, definitely.
Great idea, Jenny! Thanks, Brooke for completing the challenge with ease. You have some skills at savings and are a meal creation savant. Be safe, warm and always blessed my Southerland Squad! xoxo
It was -2 when I went out this morning, and it got up to a balmy 14F this afternoon. Chili Cheese Fries is perfect on a day like this. Thanks, Brooke and Jenny!
I am not a winter person we've had snow for two weeks now.Woke up this morning with 0 degrees and -3 wind chill.(I live in kansas). The comfort food looks delicious. 😋
ive made chilli cheese fries alot. or chips and chilli dip or chilli nachos, my new favorite is chilli with no beans from save alot half a can in beef ramen noodles, then i add onions on top, chilli powder, tajin seasoning, and i add two slices of white american cheese and stir until melted. its like chilli mac, but i use ramen noodles instead. or chilli and hot dogs like coney island. i havent tried that recently.
Those spring rolls are amazing. I buy them all the time and add them to my stir fry meals as a side. They are a staple in my freezer. You have to try them.
I live in WA state.. and I still don't like the darn snow... Only because in Vancouver, WA we have a little snow, and then BOOM ICE STORMS.. snow would be just fine. Ice is terrible!
Brooke you are so right about this snow we don't get snow like this yesterday we went to little walmart which is 2 miles and my butt cheeks were clenched tight because of ice and then we come out of the store and it snowed for 30 minutes while we were in the store and put a inch of snow back on the ground while we were in the store I was so glad to get back in our driveway and know we were alive. Between you a me I fry my fries in oil we tried them baked and air fried and we like them best in oil. Love some chili cheese fries great job Brooke.
It looks delicious 😋. I wonder how many meals you could make with $10 since you have 5 people in your family. Maybe even a series $10, $20, $30. Including breakfast and lunch. Some people only have a Dollar Tree close to them and have to travel a lot farther for a grocery store.
I’m a northern girl so have never had cheese fries with canned chili, casserole, but do think that I might give it a try sometime soon. Love 💕 the Dollar Tree and know that several of you women who make low cost meals like to include it as well as Walmart and Aldi. Always good to give these a try… especially at times when money is really tight!✅. Thanks for sharing this idea! 😊
I was in IN last year and it snowed, thought I would freeze to death - brought a coat with me but I live in Central FL and my coat was not warm enough - I grew up in IN but have lived in FL over30 yrs brrr! Lol😅 today 70 degrees and below I'm m cold today it's 32 and I am 🥶 😂 I love the way you turned this into a casserole 🥘 I too love chilli cheese fries but I like my chilli thicker. But glad to see this option I see others using the smoked sausage to make this challenge...ty for sharing this....😊
Hey Brooke! Just discovered that I am two hours south of you in Pikeville Tennessee. My favorite part of this video is the first round of french fries when you threw them in and they splattered and then you threw one last french fry in…..that’s totally me!!! ….probably not too silly but I thought it was funny. Your videos make me smile!
We have these delicious fries that I know make...I make fries (I do homemade, cuz I love them) and then you drizzle cheese sauce on top add green onions, chopped peppers, Red, green whatever you like chopped up small pcs tomatoes, and for those who like it, sour cream Oh ya and bacon bits..Yum!
Hello, me and my boyfriend started watching your videos several months ago and we love them! You did several videos of when you were younger and had no food in the house, the food you would make. I don’t know if you’ve tried it before but it’s been a staple in my house since I was a kid. I’m used to eat cottage cheese on saltine crackers and it’s one of my favorite things to eat. When I’d visit my grandpa, me and my brothers would have it. I think you should try it! You could upgrade to cottage cheese and chives! Thank you for your videos! ❤
LOL..I feel ya. I live in MS and we just ain't used to this mess...lol. I have a friend from the north that just laughs her tail off at me. I love chili cheese fries. Great video!
there is a BIG difference in what we get in south (tennessee here, too) and what they get up north, etc. first of all, we get ( usually) lots ad lots of ice with the snow. and secondly...we dont have the equipment to deal with it. we have like....3 plows in the whole state, or something. lol. and last but not least, we are not used to it. I myself have many years of having driven in snow under my belt. but younget people have zero idea. because we just seldom get it anymore. (we used to back a hundred years ago when i was in school, lol). Anyway, except for the fact that i just packed a weeks worth of clothes and came prepared to my patients home.....i am loving it. (I seldom get cabin fever r anything) but it wouldve been better if I had been snowed in at home with my husband and .....my home, where my comfort is, and all mu stuff is. but , i really love snow and really hate summer so...i am different than most of the world. THANKS for this idea. idk if ours has this stuff, i will have to see.
My DT, a county over from yours hardly has the raviolis, but when they do I stock up LOL I even do a short cut/lazy trick of using the crock pot one bag with one jar of marinara I put a little water in it and one bag of the Italian meatballs and I make sure they're dip down into sauce and in 2 hours on high its perfect
Another topping idea you have to try sometimes sooner or later is crumbled up Doritos. I myself prefer the original Doritos but it adds a nice cheesy crunch NOM NOM NOM
We rarely have snow. When we do it is usually 1" with 2" being the max. It is usually gone the same day and no later than the next afternoon. I sure do not want snow all the time like up north. However, i would like a good snow that stays on the ground 2-3 days once in a while .
Brooke, I moved from Florida to Michigan many years ago and our first winter there it was twenty below!, and for 2 weeks straight! So, I completely understand your reluctance to embrace the snow. When you aren't used to those kinds of temps/weather, it can be miserable. Positive thought, Spring is just a couple months ahead!
Brooke, We’ve had this snow all week also. We live in middle TN and it’s been a lot! Probably be able to get out on Monday. The side roads are like ice skating arenas.😂Love all your videos!!❤️
Laughing yes, but i also feel bad for you guys cause you guys dont have the infrastructure to deal with it... Be warm and be safe to all my friends in the south
Utah here...we have snow in the canyons but you have more snow on the ground than we do and we are 45 for a high. We known for the greatest snow on earth...lol
@@SouthernFrugalMomma went to Walmart today and hey have EVERY OTHER KIND. Could you send a picture of it so I know exactly what I’m looking for please?
Definitely going to be making this in my very near future, I have a big bag of tater tots in the freezer, I can take those out and fry them up and pour some chili that I made the other night on them, my kids will definitely enjoy it, thank you for the amazing idea, you guys stay safe and stay warm, look forward to seeing your next video
that looked really good for wintery comfort food, I'm going to make some soon. Thanks for the idea Jenny!! we are slammed here in southwest michigan with lake effect snow and fridged temperatures 🥶Brooke you made it happen girl 🎉
I tried the fries in the oven and the kids didn't like them. I like to do healthy but if they don't eat it then what's the point? Brooke my autistic 10 yr old has sensory issues. He's addicted to frozen burritos. One day could you do a copy cat of these burritos? Lol
Brooke delicious. i made something similarly last week using cold baked taters. Just fried up the taters and poured the chili cheese on top. PS snow is ok for the first day or so. Then tuck. Next week it is supposed to warm up. Ps. Im making your meal, but with the baked taters. ❤❤❤😊
Brooke, I got a big chuckle this morning. I am up here in Buffalo, NY. We got walloped this week with 5 - 6 feet of snow, depending on where we live in the area. I agree with you. Big bad snowstorms call for some comfort food. Thank goodness for my pantry. I only had to leave my house for work. Stay warm, only 2 months of winter left.😂😂😂
I mean maybe 3 to 8 inches or feet once in 15 years. Or we just get black ice, or flurries but even with flurries it will close our county and sometimes even the state.
Soooo stuck!!! I have tried sending a gift overseas to no success.... Brooke pls if I want to send you anything from Gibraltar.... how do I do it plssssss 🤔😑😳

Yeah, here's a real challenge - Make a $5.00 dinner from a regular grocery store.
Utah here...we have snow in the canyons but you have more snow on the ground than we do and we are 45 for a high. We known for the greatest snow on earth...lol
Can you tell me where you get the butter pepper spice you use please?
Walmart in the grilling section
@@SouthernFrugalMomma went to Walmart today and hey have EVERY OTHER KIND. Could you send a picture of it so I know exactly what I’m looking for please?
Definitely going to be making this in my very near future, I have a big bag of tater tots in the freezer, I can take those out and fry them up and pour some chili that I made the other night on them, my kids will definitely enjoy it, thank you for the amazing idea, you guys stay safe and stay warm, look forward to seeing your next video
Your eats really help people living on social secutity income. Thank you.
You can give our snow back to us! Nothing here in Montana. Can't even ski proper.
We have snow . I love it . Cooking and making jewelry. Cozy in the house .
Great idea for when you have left over chilli!
Brooke...you are so stinking cute!! 😘
looked great! I also loved your asian appetizer night idea would love to see where you could take that
West Tennessee, 9 inches snow, -8 one night last week, pipes are still froze, supposed to be 40 tomorrow 🎉🎉🎉 I’m not built for this, my bones hurt 😢
We've been battling snow in WV also, stay safe and warm guys❤
that looked really good for wintery comfort food, I'm going to make some soon.
Lol
I'm not laughing Brooke. Snow is pretty to look at only from inside your home. When it's a Dollar Tree meal, a meal is a meal. Thank you! ❤
Brooke delicious. i made something similarly last week using cold baked taters. Just fried up the taters and poured the chili cheese on top. PS snow is ok for the first day or so. Then tuck. Next week it is supposed to warm up. Ps. Im making your meal, but with the baked taters. ❤❤❤😊
Great idea. I haven’t made chili cheese fries in ages.
Great video. ..looks delicious! Thank you. Love from ❤ Debbie and Dexter-Dog 🐶 my sweet tiny rescued Chihuahua companion.
Girl, I can sit here and watch your videos forever.
I bet if you did vlogs they would be cool.
Well thank you beautiful friend!!!
We’re in Michigan and we’re used to snow😊
Brooke, I got a big chuckle this morning. I am up here in Buffalo, NY. We got walloped this week with 5 - 6 feet of snow, depending on where we live in the area. I agree with you. Big bad snowstorms call for some comfort food. Thank goodness for my pantry. I only had to leave my house for work. Stay warm, only 2 months of winter left.😂😂😂
Thanks for the cool cooking ideas 😎
I would put some ketchup on it. Yum!
Sure Why Not once in awhile🙂
Now I want some french fries.
You aren't ready for the weather like that. I lived in the south... I hope it warms up soon
Hey hi 👋 Wondering what happened to your awesome ice maker 😮
We moved it to the corner so I could have more countertop space
Love chili cheese fries!!!
Any other ideas for fries? I'm not a big fan of chilli..
Maybe just some cheese (or faux Dollat Tree cheese) and ham slivers
I love spring rolls
Awesome video Brooke, thanks 👍👍
Best cozy comfy snuggle family time...❤❤❤we are in Oklahoma. We get more ice than snow
We also don’t get snow here on the east coast of North Carolina
I mean maybe 3 to 8 inches or feet once in 15 years. Or we just get black ice, or flurries but even with flurries it will close our county and sometimes even the state.
A tip for when u fry chips.... instead of salt i sprinkle it with "mums special power" (aka chicken bullion 😂)
My kids love it 😊
That is a lot! 😮
We love you too!❤
Soooo stuck!!! I have tried sending a gift overseas to no success.... Brooke pls if I want to send you anything from Gibraltar.... how do I do it plssssss 🤔😑😳
