Peta Toeava should be in the squad, she has way better feed to Grace Nweke instead of Gina Crampton.
they kept gina due to experience which is something that weighed in heavy when it came to the selection.
For me, nz,sth Africa and eng, are going to have to pull off some pretty special performances to make the final... Jamaica are scary good and the Aussies haven't missed a final since the invention of the wheel, sure is going to be a great world cup.
No problem NZ will retain the world cup

I think we should expect NZ to make the final. If they don't it's a disappointment. Trophy would be the bonus but Diamonds is still heavy favourite
I have to agree NZ squad is not in the same class as those players that won that cup. No one excites me. Langman Maria all those were exceptional to watch. I do think this year it's between Jamaica and Australia. I think the Australian league is to thank for that when it come to Jamaica. As a South African I would love for them to win but I just don't see it. Definitely Australia & Jamaica

Key stat from Mystics was that they only take 5.something seconds to score. If the ferns find themselves down 10 points you have to take a risk and who better than Peta. If they return with the trophy then we will forget this conversation. But if they don't it's only right to hold Dame Nolene responsible. I'm sure she knows what she is doing but theres no excuses for having an inexperienced/rebuilding/injured squad this time. Good luck ferns.
Peta missing selection was a biggie, really hoping this one doesn't come back and bite us where it hurts...all the best girls
I agree like half the netball community. Peta was an obvious choice. Our team is defensive heavy.
Where is Peta??? Why is Whats her name in there, retire her n put Peta in there coz we will need that, guess this team is who you know!!!!!!
I also don't like labelling players as specialists. Jury is as much of a specialist as Crampton but Taurua is willing to try her in other positions. I think Gina would do amazing in centre should she be given the opportunity
I agree… it’s not fair that peta was expected to play in other positions to get into the team but not Gina
Toeava should've been in the traveling squad. The only reason aussie lost to us was because her quick feeds to nweke.
@@daniella921 Peta also had a debut WD on her when they played aussie, she ran rings around her, wonder if it will be the same if she had Brazill on her

Noels have taken it too clinically and Toeava lost out - if any risk to take to defend a title,Toeava is most crucial player to take - she feeds Mweke like no other....and I mean like no other!! - anything that's not working with Mweke.... she's crucially the important player to slot in!! - not sure they can defend the title....I hope they can but I'm not confident - just best wishes I can say
Watching the team's this year was frustrating especially the shooting. Why the shooter's not confident as the Australians to put up shot's further from the post which is their strength I've watched qld for year's how they develop young shooter's. But 2 player's who did not perform this year go to world cup?... experienced or not Australia would definitely take best performance player's. Kelly GK definitely strong Karin Burger amazing...mid court versatility player's maybe 1 too many...defence needing height in silver ferns but great speed with the GD position's.
Having differing combos would really go on who they play....
On a different thread....I hope the umpires will be up to dealing with the physical contact. It's time for 'off the ball' umpires to be included so they can dish out yellow cards to keep the players safe and get netball back on track. I miss the clever fair the Silver Ferns used to exhibit. But we have trust Noelene. She's smart.

I will say then! Can Peta play 8 grand finals back to back to back in ten days?
Peta is to old to short and to heavy for a tournament style campaign. Yes she is amazing at her game, however you need to play several positions and some at the world cup!
In reply to Australia shooting further out in the circle than NZ They introduced 2 points in their competition for the distance shots ..incentive to shoot that distance. Have you forgotten Tutaia and Ekenasio long shots? World's best back then...no reason why we can't do it again. We have every chance of retaining the World Cup. Jamaica, New Zealand and Australia will fight for the 3 medals.

In the past our girls lacked the fitness and stamina to compete in a very demanding schedule like the world cup!
The silver ferns will play 8 matches in ten days not including the finals
Noeline is relying on stamina, fitness, mental and physical fatigue
For all the Peta keyboard/arm chair coaches with Crampton having a year off, she will get another chance, calm down! 🤣😂
Oh well at least we try. Peta should've been in the team though. She won't be there in 4yrs time.
@@daniella921 bit of luck Noeline puts her in the Taini Jamieson and Constellation cup and she gets to shine again
