I’ve been rewatching old videos of when Alex first came into the spotlight of filming and I must say he’s gotten soooooo much more comfortable talking with the camera so hats off to you Josh for building up a badass operator like Alex! 💯
So great to see the owner of a multi million dollar operation is full out there driving his trucks and getting his hands dirty like the rest of you. Old school…helps the younguns see the value of hard work. At some point though he needs to get off the streets and play with his grandkids…I’m sure he will be an awesome influence on them too!😉👍
The shear pins on that cab works exactly how they were supposed to. Modern semis are designed to do that in a violence crash. It helps dissipate energy so the occupants are not subjected to massive crash forces.
Volvo is the only class 8 truck manufacturer to crash test its trucks and installs a drivers side airbag in the steering wheel. This man is alive thanks to this.

Way too many cars , too many idiots behind the wheel and in Cali you’ll catch your self pushing 80moh average cause everyone else is going that fast yet most speed limits in Cali highways are 65…… i used to drive from chino to Moreno Valley everyday 2 hour traffic and in such short distance I’ve seeen the dumbest things happen on the freeway…. More people more problems.
It never ceases to amaze me how someone can walk away from a vehicle that mangled pretty much unscathed. I saw it many times back when I was doing towing and recovery. I guess some people must have a whole posse of guardian angels protecting them. The driver is ok, let's all hope that he learned something today. Be safe out there!!

The forces involved to not only tear off cab mountings, but all the other connections must have been enormous. Drive safe out there people, just because you CAN go fast does not mean you HAVE to.......
I noticed some comments about foot ware. I think it is more important what you have in your head then what is on your feet. What an amazing survival story. Looks like the highway wrecks on VN26, de. The methodical way that Alex approaches a job just blows me away. Strolls around looking and then executes his plan without wasted time or effort. I got the new Hulk shirt and wore it this week. I was shocked! The shirt was very soft but made with a good medium cotton thread. This shirt is going to hold up for years if not decades. I was expecting a super thin cotton shirt like you get with most YT channels. I’m happy with this purchase, thank you! Keep making the awesome content!
The flip side is was there another place to park? If the truck was scheduled to be at a particular place and time and there was no staging available... Or, the driver was out of hours and no truck stop parking.... Parking roadside is risky, but you always have to ask if there was an alternative.
I’m confused. Was the JB Hunt truck parked on a median or on the side of the road? If JB was parked in a place that wasn’t meant for driving, why was the other guy driving there?

On european Trucks (we manly have cabovers) especially Scania cab removal happens often on mayor accidents. It’s most of the time a lifesafer for the driver. Good vid as always! Greetings from Hungary 🇭🇺 in Europe.
I’m starting to believe, but it’s a wild concept to understand. “we design our trucks so when you crash, the entire cab comes off the chassis to protect you”.
I'm guessing, but the cab probably gives you a passenger cell like in cars, and the shearing off acts like a crumple zone giving you less g over a longer time. The downside is you'll only ever crash that truck once! It's like 1970s cars vs crumple zone cars. The old ones the driver was a gonna but you could sell the car, the modern ones sacrifice themselves to protect the occupants.
I saw edison motors touring european trucks, and one of the things they noted was 4 corner air bags on the cab instead of front hard mounting, so i see how they could basically just pop off the frame
It amazes me that traffic won't slow down or at least get over to the far left lane.....I'm no wrecker man but i have worked paving crews on busy hiways ...PEOPLE PLEASE SLOW DOWN !!!

Yes God is good indeed. Sad thing is that JB Hunt driver probably just lost his job even if he wasn’t at fault. My husband logged over a million miles with zero accidents when he was a bull hauler. He said the problem with the truck drivers these days is that there’s just too many out there with very little experience. And the texting while driving situation is out of control. Sad.
JBHUNT, in the industry means Just Been Hired Usually Not Trained. This guy was doing something(on the phone?) and trying to merge Illegally into oncoming traffic. Notice how he was too far onto the non merge area. and tried to cut the wheel like he tried to avoid the accident. Clearly HIS FAULT! Was a truck driver for almost 15 years before my husbands retirement. I've seen some stupid driving in my time on the road. Two million miles for him.

Crazy to see that other dude that showed up to help I remember him from a few months when he was recovering a stolen trailer and backed into my truck when I was docked He was driving that brand new Peter built you guys just got. The dude was super cool and we handled the damage 👊🏼

Really great that the driver walked away from that one. Not sure, but suspecting it may have something to do with the cab suspension systems that are designed in giving essentially a "breakaway" joint for the cab which acts like an escape capsule. No idea whether it's intentional or not, but fortuitous in this case.

I used to have twitch running with the screen off just to have audio while driving. It sucked having service get lost in the mountains, but it was fun to hear the live jokes instead of listening to other pre recorded content

In Europe it is quite normal for a truck cabin to come loose from the tractor and Volvo introduced this 15 years ago. It has been proven that it saves lives in the event of frontal collisions. Now all brands in Europe have this. Mercedes-Freigtliner western star, Scania / MAN - International, DAF-Paccar
It's bad enough when 4 wheelers only look four to five car lengths ahead , but a big rig is something else. This driver worried about his phone because there might be evidence he was doing something with it? Even if JB Hunt was parked like a idiot , this could have been prevented by looking a quarter mile ahead of yourself. Amazing. Lucky Star on the side of the cab.
Maybe they use more care when heavy - not so casual. Stopped on shoulder - fail, unless breakdown. Wandered off traffic lane (maybe distracted by phone) - fail. Two wrongs make a wreck, Volvo sells a new tractor. Lucky driver gets to fight another day - if smart, in a different trade.

Great video and recovery as usual guys! Just curious, besides the initial cost of the wrecker, how much would you estimate you invested in tools and accessories on Flipper or Hulk? You always have the right tools for the situation, which is the sign of a true professional in any craft!!! I don't imagine some of those slings are inexpensive.
