This wasn't even one of the best Messi videos out there. You should watch "Lionel Messi The Goat" by MagicalMessi. That's a really good video. People compare him to Ronaldo a lot (and it is about preference), but really in terms of footballing ability there's no comparison. While Ronaldo is definitely one of the best goal scorers of all time and a much better in terms of physical athleticism, football isn't just about goals or having the best physicality. It's also about playmaking, passing, assisting, dribbling past players and no one can surpass Messi in that. At least no individual player. Overall the most complete player in history. He can do it all.
Totally agree but, in fact, Messi has a better goal ratio than Cristiano Ronaldo (even if he usually plays way farther from the goal than CR7). He just has less goals cause he debuted almost two years later and, obviously, has played less games. He's better than Cristiano at goalscoring too.
Messi is a team player, Ronaldo is not.
@@ferbluesy Both are, but develop different functions on the pitch. While Ronaldo the vast majority of the time stays at the classic 9 position, also known as the "killer" position (typical one of a goalscorer), and sometimes combines it with the half forward one, Messi combines that half forward and 4 more different positions (including the classic midfielder one). And even with all that, Messi has a better goalscoring ratio. That's what, for me, is absolutely insane.

The best thing about Messi is that 20 minutes doesn't do him any justice. The guy is so talented that you can have a 2 hour video on his dribbling alone. He has 700 goals so that makes a movie right there. And an astonishing thing about him is that almost every goal he scores is a wonder goal. Very rarely does he do the typical tap-in, or some fluke goal. This guy is completely deliberate, I think he sees things in slow motion.
So yeah, you can do searches like "messi passing", "messi free kicks", "messi dribbling" and you will see endless footage about anything you can think of. He has been consistently alien since he started playing in the first team in 2004.

Basically the michael jordan of soccer/football , but at the same level as other footballing greats.😀 once he scored 91 goals in a calendar year. Basically it is like wilt chamberlain season in 62' when he averaged 50 points or michael jordan in 88' averaging 38 points, making it a total of 3000 points and more in one single season. But there are of course other great players aswell. But messi is definitely a great one aswell. I actually had the privelige and honour of watching messi at the stadium in Barcelona in 2019. It was a match against real valladoid. My guy dribbled three guys like it was nothing. Never seen anything like it in professional football again after that magical evening in Barcelona . He might get his 7th mvp or ballon dor this year after winning copa america and having an overall great year.

They're all variations of the same game that got more and more different over time, but that's why we don't really use our feet and still call it football. It used to be different.

Teams feel they have to at least triple team him, and yet he still finds a way to score. They don't do that against Ronaldo. But Ronaldo is much better than Messi in the air (he's way taller).
