- Do NOT Try this at Home Unless you are a Professional, Installing the Wrong Equipment Can Void and Warranties or Damage the Unit Further. Do Regular Maintenance and Your Air Conditioner Will Love Your for it.
Not sure why anyone wouldn't like how you put this video together. You really dumbed it down so that a banker can understand how simple it is. Nice work
Trying it this weekend. Thank you for this first video!
We Dig It!
Love the Marker idea for the wires!
Just returned to this video to say Thank You!! $16 capacitor from Amazon did the trick, super easy to install! Though, for real, people: AC units run at a higher voltage so make sure to follow all safety recommendations. Thanks again!! (subscribed!)
I replaced the compressor, fan, and inside blower motor capacitors on my home HVAC system shortly after I bought the house. Every one of them was low on capacity by a significant margin according to my Fluke meter. The replacements were about $50 total and probably saved me hundreds on motor replacements in the future. It’s one of the cheapest air conditioner/heat pump jobs to do and could save a lot on electricity and service calls. Capacitors take a beating from incoming line voltage variations, spikes and surges, and daily use. They wear out slowly over time and most people don’t know about them until they’re dead and something stops working, but it’s a preventative measure job to check them now and then and proactively replace them to keep the motors working. Proper capacitance keeps the motors cooler and quieter and allows them to start up quickly, extending their lifespan. I recommend to my friends that they learn how to do this work on their own, but I’m willing to do it for them as a favor if they don’t understand. Good video once again!
Thanks for the great advice. I did it, and my AC is running normal right now! 😇👍
We really may be privileged fucks, but you definitely percentage your information, quicker, more accurately, and better in my opinion. Good job representing the generation brother try to do the same in the Automotive field. Sweet video, bro.
On one of my Carrier units, due to a manufacturing defect, the condenser fan became detached from the stem. The fan motor was fine. Weirdest issue but common with Carrier units from the early 2000s. Waiting for a new fan to arrive.
Very helpful! Thanks!
Only one thing to do check Amp? On the condensing fan motor and the compressor.
I am glad you stated it is going to be cleaned lol
Its all about the big picture, thank you for the comment!
I usualy i mark the wire leads and the part and it is effective for me!
Great feedback! Thank you!
Thank you for your help
I won’t try myself but it’s great video.
I have an old voltmeter. Do I put it on ohms?
Put it on ohms and if it's not reading it is bad
0 I would be looking for like resistance on the capacitor
If it's reading more than zero you got a healthy capacitor
Ours went out Friday night and I wasn't sure what be causing it and I went to a group that told me the capacitor is bad and change it
I don't want to be messing with that
We are going to call a technician tomorrow because the company he works for is closed Saturday and Sunday it will be 3 day without no air it's been hot here
My unit is not turning on at all
It could be your run capacitor and fan capacitor my janitrol unit has one each for fan and one for compressor worse comes to worse a compressor burn out.
Ours is out too
The fan is not spinning but the unit turns on
I have 2 videos of it on my page don't mind my talking on there it scared the crap out of me when I heard the buzzing noise and thought it was going to catch fire or something
Kl
I switched it out got nothing
Something else is causing it not to run
I am getting on the Internet to read up on it now
Did you test the new capacitor after you take it back out and check it to see if the ohm meter indicator is at the correct
