A tree fell next door and there is now a partial outage in my house. No breakers flipped, but I'm particular areas there is still no power and my outside AC unit buzzes. I'm hoping it's only partial power and when the wires are fixed it will run again. What do you think it likely is? It's a new unit...
We have a relatively new Lennox heat pump. When we turn on the heat, the unit does start, but there is a clucking sound from the unit. Typically it runs for a few minutes and stops, and the system goes to backup (electric furnace). I'm hoping it's the fan motor, but how do I test that? And could it be something else?
Thanks for watching! If you have a question about your HVAC unit, please leave it below!
How often do you have to go into the attic to work on the air handler?
Hi! Something in a neighbor's backyard is buzzing 3 times, every 3 minutes and 15 seconds. All day and every day. Any ideas would be VERY appreciated.
Could be a bad contactor?
That’s what I needed, thank you.
Hi, when my unit turns on, there's a heavy click on sound. I notice my unit never sounded like this before. Any advice would be appreciated
Did you ever figure it out?
@jassirargueta I researched with 2 opinions from 2 different contractors. Both mentioned the sound is normal as long as the compressor pumps freon...
@@newman9555 Thank you for that information! I appreciated the fast response
As long as it's cooling it's normal it's the compressor kicking on
What if theres a loud buzzing similar to in the video they played but the fan is running? Is something about to go?

If there is no power to the unit there is nothing that would cause the hum or buzz. It is likely a compressor locking up.
Wrong. The control circuit is still active in the outdoor unit and energizes the contactor, even if there’s no power to the outside unit.
Mikey you are right , I thought the same thing even before I read your comment.
@@arayahailu8762 no the contactor coil could be buzzing. Seen it a hundred times
