@@iamfitz thank you so much!
Thanks amigo
Lueran Chaney good for you:)
- guys in what tempo we will play say hello to the angels?
- yes.
And Daniel coming in with the wrong note lol. That's how you know they're a real rock band though, not using any extra technology to try to sound better like a click or backing tracks.
Ni siquiera lo noté
I care a lot less about how a singer sounds 20 years later, than how I remember these songs and the amazing lyrics he wrote. Hope to see them live one day.
Hope the same 🥲
Sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?
I somehow forgot the account password. I love any assistance you can offer me
@Gavin Hank instablaster :)
They’re touring now :)
A year later but if you see them live it's an amazing show. I saw them at Riot Fest and the atmosphere is amazing. Sound incredible even though it doesn't sound like album recordings.
This is motivating me to stop smoking...
Stop smoking
Stop, bro, you can do it!
stop smoking (we love you)
@@AnonyMatt0 nice
It’s doing the opposite for me. But I assume you mean because of how different Paul Banks sings now? These recordings do no justice whatsoever. He sounds amazing live.
no matter how they sound, the important thing is how they make you feel, the moments that the lyrics evoke ... they are still one of the best bands
Finding it hard to believe Paul couldn’t hire a vocal coach his entire career to help him sing healthily
He hired one at the OLTA period
Even if he did there are many other things that can lead to an apparently bad vocal performance (though I don't agree this is a 'bad' performance; it's not great, but not bad) such as the level of his vocals in his monitor speaker, the extent to which he has to concentrate on other aspects of the band's performance, and how tired he has by that point in the set. I've had vocal training and while it definitely improved my vocal ability, and to some extent my strength and range, it mainly helped me to get through a three-hour rehearsal without losing my voice. A voice can be temperamental as well.
The subway is a porno. The pavements are a mess.
Why should he? He’s always been fucking awesome!
Paul Banks himself has said that he isn't a singer. He learned to sing. He didn't take good care of his voice and plus that, he still smokes. However, I saw them live in one of their latest shows in November 2019 and he sounded way better than this :)
Cx closed mouth giggle from me
i think he has an ear problem cause sometimes he sing right sometimes wrong . Maybe he drinks too much this day . Paul Banks has always had problems in live with his voice .
En el Corona Capital?
I remember the first time I saw them live I was on shrooms. His voice really tripped me out. He sounded like a lamb singing but man the music was spot on. I had a blast either way. Kept going to their shows whenever they come around. Can’t wait for the next one! I really like that they play in small venues. Those shows are much more intimate.
My kid and I saw them Jan of 2018 and they all killed it.
how does anybody points at the fact that Daniel Kessler doesnt age?
I know!
what the fuk man i juuust saw that ...cheater ass immortal genius...i knew onevday he would playca gig without the suit on
the added strings to the riff in rest my chemistry is so good..
I saw them for the 1st time at RADIO CITY music hall, NYC then Follow them them to Miami beach, then terminal 5 nyc. Also was lucky to see them open for U2 at New Jersey at the same year(2011)
And i met Paul DJ at Brooklyn Bowl and had a great conversation w him. He even waved me goodbye when the set was over.such a classic gentleman. After 7years i saw them in Tokyo, i cried when the intro Of NYC kicked in. Best Interpol gig so far in my life. I will follow them forever

I heard Paul Banks say in an interview ("What's in my bag") that one of his favorite records is John Frusciante's first solo album, so if I already thought he was amazing, that took him to a whole other level.
the tempo is so fast and pauls voice is trying to keep up maybe they didnt want to cancel the show because they look so tired and it really shows, or maybe his voice has undeniable changed and we will never be the same
@Sharks the bassist isn't the og but the drummer is
I saw them in Vegas and Paul sounded amazing!! Here he sounds a bit rough. When I saw them in 11/19 it was an intimate setting and the crowd went wild!! It was a great show and the last one I saw before Covid.
nd here is the setlist friends
Paul really needs to rest his chemistry
I hope Paul is ok. C'mere is one of my favorite songs of all time and when I heard him sing it her it broke my heart. Hopefully he was just having a bad day.
thanks for a good contribution interpol is a band that has a lot of people who don't like Paul's voice I don't care because that makes it a unique rock band special
i am perfectly okay with his way of singing, this is what make him and his band special from the rest. Just think that he is a indie band, does not need "singing competition" kind of voice.
sound guy called in sick, levels are all over the place
Lol. I saw them at the Boston opener that year. As soon as they started playing I glanced a hard eyeball at the soundman.
These dudes are really great performers. Saw then on the Curiosa Tour in 2004ish with The Cute, Mogwai, The Rapture and Muse. All INCREDIBLE.
A lot of people are talking about tempo and it relating to how a singer sings in the context of a band. I bet he’s dealing with an off night (being sick, blowing out his voice) it doesn’t matter. Usually the tempo thing is just a comfortability thing. As you get better at playing your own songs and you become comfortable shit speeds up if for no other reason then you can and it’s fun. If anything it’s refreshing because it’s unlikely he’s playing to a click and a bunch of tracks which I don’t have a problem with but this is truly a live show.
just goes to show anyone can have an off day. Anything could have been going on in their personal lives, but the show goes on! We're all humans you know... and who mixed this show haha?
Amazing to see in live....Sam is awesome! 💪
35 years into life. Interpol is my favorite band. I could sing along to every single song. The only band around who has never written a bad song. But this made me think they had a new singer. I saw Mccartney a few years ago and he was almost 80...not the same but it was obviously him. One day I hope I see Interpol. Don't hate this but it's so weird. Something is going on.
Only band that have never written a bad song? Eh.
@@JackMorgan06 lol. Yes. Until someone like you came along 😉

@Sharks 6 months later here I am checking out this video again. Ok. Saying life can be dark is cliché. Nobody is special and we all face a life nobody understands. Some may but for the most part we all are insanely unique. When I heard their latest album(The Other Side of Make-Believe) I didn't like it. But one day I threw in my headphones and for a good 2 weeks now it's all I listen to. The only way I can describe it is people live life on frequencies It just nails home the person I am. I personally don't get it and can't give you a scientific answer. But every song they ever made is perfect. To me their music is dark and romantic. More so dark. I'm me living like and their music resonates in ways I just don't understand. It's in tune with my soul. I can't describe it. I had some of their songs and one day got a few albums to listen to and it was weird. Didn't love it but wanted to go back and hear more. I love music and in my early 20's(I'm 36 now) Zeppelin and Pink Floyd were the bands I never thought anyone would surpass. In comes interpol. See the replies saying "Yes they do have bad songs" On the lives of everyone I love I don't feel that way. Some songs are better but when I shuffle Interpol I never skip. It's strange things that affect people. Hope you're doing good Sharks. Sorry it took 6 months. Their music just deeply connects with who I am.
@@smmmokin I feel the same. 🖤
Something really serious happened to his voice. It feels like its weak as if he was sick. Its a shame, cause the last album is so good! I hope I find other videos where he is able to sing properly haha
Paul's voice has been progressively going downhill for a minute. He needed to stop smoking 10 years ago.
Actually the audio quality in this is pretty well. I agree his voice has faded but other videos are far cleaner audio in general
ajajajaja :v
That's what happens when you tour for 18 months straight.
Paul needs to be well rested to sound anything like younger Paul, this gig was prob at the end of a loooong tour and 1000s of smokes. They seem half dead, they could have done a cover my chemical romance song "the five of us are dying" and it would suit them.
i think the fast tempos also caught him off guard many say other concerts he sounded better at.
Dolorosamente hermoso!!!
Painfully beautiful...
I’m gonna go to my first concert in may of this year and it’s gonna be Interpol which is all I could ask for and I’m so excited and trying to understand the atmosphere rn 😭
¿Palacio de los deportes?
@@fandigimon1able No, i'm going to the one at Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at San Diego State University
All the rage back home was so spot on
Yes, he is surely sounds amazing live (sry, I don't speak this one XD)
Siempre ❤
perspective....my first go around at a live interpol and I am in tears, mayhaps my greenears... Thank you for the upload.
if this was my first or only interpol show I WOULD HAVE BEEN ""AALLL THE RAGE BACK HOME" while i was driving home...BUT THE FOUR TIMES I SAW THEM WERE WITH CARLOS ""SS" D...REAL INTERPOL
46:58 is in my soul
Still following my search for the truth in the removal of Interpol videos and comments, I communicate for those who do not already know that the video "Tidal Wave" has also been removed from UA-cam with this explanation: "Video not available. This video includes content from Beggars, who have blocked it from being played in your country for copyright reasons" However, "coincidentally", they removed the video with the most views, while they left the other dozen of Tidal Wave scattered on the web.Now I am definitely convinced that all this does not happen in good faith.
I see a lot of comments about Paul's singing. Eh, not super tight, but I think I'm more noticing Sam. His tempo is all over the place and the rest of the guys are trying to hang on with mixed success. Like, listen to the last half of "All the Rage." It's a mess.
same bro, i love them so much, but it´s hard not to see
paul's voice is like, not ok
ctm
lol, I'm tired of defending Banks on these live performances...I can say I say them live May 2019 and they sounded awesome. However, when I saw live videos of the performance it was the same thing with the voice. I chalk it up to how the sound is mixed. But it sounds good live, in person.
Reminds me of late stage weiland voice.
the band pushes through the whole hour.
I wish Paul would just sound like he did first two albums.
i think it's a live vs studio thing. go watch la route da rock from 2001 - he sounded terrible there too
enough about his voice... wtf is up with the faster tempos? Loses the swing
Saw them in Mexico City, they played twice the tempo, felt like I was in a rave :/
What swing?
Right?? It fucks up everything.
I don’t know if it’s the mix or what, but the worst part of this isn’t even Paul’s voice. It’s the instruments and then changing tempos mid song like the drummer speeds them up and they all have to play faster and then mess the guitar parts up. I have seen them play live a bunch of times and it’s never been this bad.
It's super obvious in Evil!
I hope Paul is alright, he doesn’t sound very good- id assume it’s because he’s sick or just very tired. It’s a shame- I’ve liked them for most of my life (I’m pretty young..) and I wanted to see them live but this is the closest thing I’ll get to it :( I wouldn’t want to see them if they’re not feeling well.
Jade he is ok, only listen him on muzz
smoking doesn't help
I wish Paul sounded as good as he looks 😎
pretty rough, watch this instead; Live At Glastonbury 2005
it's pretty sad to watch my favorite band perform like this, especially paul. seen them last year at open'er festival in poland and it was one of their worst gigs i've seen so far as well. the rover is a caricature of original
Łukasz M. They have been hit or miss for me live. When I catch them at smaller venues they are awesome but the big shows feel called in and Paul sound like crap.
Łukasz M. Fk! I thought it was just me. Vocals, energy, everything. Flat. They are much much better than this. Disappointing
I'm guessing from Paul's performance that he didn't want to be here
Mohamed Mosaad I got the same kinda vibe
They’re amazing on record. Terrible live
@@euanharrison7125 I’ve seen them live twice and never been this bad.
@@joshuabrunetta4656 I've seen them live a couple times.. definitely was never this bad
Actually sounds like he can't hear himself once the whole band starts playing.
Fav band💙
Idk why people are going on about Paul's voice when the entire set seems fucked. It's really sped up, his voice is in the wrong range and even the instruments don't sound right. What a mess, trying to deal with all of that.
They probably haven’t played together in a long time
It's really amazing this song and very friendly ✔✔
Gracias Indie Rock Universe
I can’t tell if Paul (the lead singer) is sick or that’s just the quality on the video
Sick
Exhausted from a long tour
He needs to be well rested to sound anything like Paul of old, so it would be still worth it to see them live if it's early in the tour.
I really liked the BASS sound in Paul's voice as in 2005. What have happen?
why? cigarettes?
I don't like this new voice. The sound on this performance or a mistake from engineering or bad performance,
everyone talking about Paul´s voice, but can someone talk about Sam´s drumms? i love these guys for years, but c´mon, it´s like he´s running from a serial killer almost all the time
The Rover is waaaay too fast culeross nomamen
😂😂
🤣🤣 se mamaron! :v
tremenda banda
C'mon! The expression in his face after the 1:00:25 when he missed the note says everything, he's losing the voice and still forcing himself to do it... It's gonna be sad he had to retire, but he has to do it before he could get worse...
I watched him do the online concert with Muzz just last week and he was amazing, maybe he was actually unwell or struggling to keep up with the tempo. Why is it so dang fast??
Honestly he sounds amazing mostly to me, like in if you really love nothing, maybe not like his old voice, this is just something different. It could be a different style of singing maybe.
@@valixrae supposedly it's because he was touring for 18 months at this point, so his voice was getting raspier and raspier
Were they speed running say hello to the angels?
His voice is rotten... It's hard to me hear him now. I never liked his voice tone (it's just my opinion!), but it was a healthy, louder and more powerful voice. Obviously, he's older...but he's still young!
But he is an excellent lyricist. And Interpol is a great unforgettable band!
I presume Paul wasn't well that day and didn't wanna cancel .. he stuck it out . I can tell in his voice ..
Geez, wtf happened to the tempos here?
1:00:22 Ohhhh Paul was baaad (And he noticed it, just look at his smile and disapointing face. Dont get me wrong but now i got the reason he quit smoking and took vocal lessons. I was with this band with the first 3 records now cuz the indie sleaze a covid thing i am again interested on this band, but it seems i did not lose much, so so exiting for the new album tho, cheers from Perú.
that crowd makes me want to scream..
What happened to Paul' s voice? OMG.
Hit like if you came here for 57:01. Love interpol
Super
This is the sound of someone trying to sing who cant hear himself. I went to see them a few years ago in Detroit and the sound was AWFUL and like, not their fault. Its very possible that the venues do not know how to run sound for them
Como se llama la cancion que tocan despues de SAY HELLO TO THE ANGELS y antes de EVIL???
Thats how you know there is a God 57:01
te amaré aunque tengas 100 años
im gonna see them next Month but idk lot of the songs, so here i am lol
1:01:00 nomames sam, si nadie te anda correteando JAJSJAJA
Omg es cierto jajsjsjsjs :(
Wow.... this is a bummer. Everything is off!
the drummer is on crack with those tempos lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m dead
The best
♥
Like all of ya said there something wrong with his voice. Even Robert Plant at his age sounds still like in his prime years. Thinking 🤔 if I should see them in May. Been a fan since forever.
Wow looks like they are participating in a speed playing competition when they play The Rover🤣
Umas melhores bandas o/
What happend with his voice?
It's amazing, bro
the teeth marks of time...
I saw long time ago, and was amaizing. Now is hard to believe his perfomance. I hope the best for this band.
Maybe because of cigarettes. I have lost mine since I smoke. And I regret that.
Am i wrong i feel i should Dance to his music!
What's wrong whit Paul's voice? Maybe he was ill
Buenísimo
Who does the vocals on tidal wave? And why don't they perform it live?
I dont think he sounds that bad guys, why all the hate?
I'm sorry but this is really rough to listen to. Paul's voice is a huge part of Interpol's sound, and when it's hoarse like this... well we commend him for carrying on.
😍
That's how much people love Interpol. A voice that drains your brain, and still no hate for the band. I prefer a carpenter 🪵 all morning long in front of my window than Pauls voice
Say Hello To The Angels is so fast, wtf 😂
uhh the mix is horrible, no mids or low mids, can barely hear the bass, everything sounds so muted -like under a polyester film or something
🔝🔝🔝❤️❤️❤️🔝🔝🔝
They played song seven?
They don't play song seven since the beginning anymore. I believe. I don't see them playing it since one of their first live.
