You guys are amazing. Thank you so much!!
OHHH YURRRRRR!!!
#metallica #reaction #metal
Love how much you can hear Rob tearing up that bass!
First thing I noticed!!
I actually thought his bass was a little much on this song. I know, its an unpopular opinion.
I'd love to hear a bass solo from Robert, like "bass solo, take two" in this new album
@@JoshAllen17Goated nah, its mixed enough so its hearable but doesnt drown out the guitars or drums. how it should be
@Carlos Alcaino I have a feeling we are gonna have a bass solo somewhere in this album.
Just listening to the first two songs, I got a feeling it's coming.
Lars has always been such an enigma to me. I love how he's not afraid to play the most basic of 4/4 beats, but can then break into crazy off-rhythm beats while still capable of breaking into wicked blast beats if the song calls for it.
Because of the band's style change on the Black Album, his cheesy acting roles in movies, the Napster fiasco and however you want to take how he came off in their documentary counseling sessions, too many people started ripping on Lars like any of that has anything to do with what he can do on his kit.
Lars is a truly talented drummer and I hate seeing how much hate he gets. Whatever he chooses to do outside of playing the drums has nothing to do with his abilities on them.
Good song review man and thanks for keeping it honest 🤘
He’s not afraid of playing the same 4/4 beats because that’s all he can do😂
@@joeltallic5503easy to blame a world level drummer when you are another pimple faced prick who doesn't know which side of the bed to piss on.
Damn right
@@joeltallic5503that “all he can do” made him a member of one of the biggest bands in history. Who really gets the last laugh.
@BrandonZX6R this is a great example for the distinction between 'despite' and 'because'.........
5:54 - "I don't even care if ya know this new stuff isn't as good as their classic shit. I'm just glad they're making new music. Yeah, I'm really excited to hear the rest of the album."
My thoughts exactly!
At the end of the day these legendary blokes are pushing 60 years old and STILL! banging out ripping beats that still shred better than some of the crap that some of the younger generations are pushing out. I think this album is gonna be epic! Thanks for reviewing mate love your content 👍
they cant keep up with megadeth now lol
@@neiljackson81 Mustaine hires younger virtuosos! Kiko is carrying that band!
@@MikeysMorgue mustaine writes the music.
@@neiljackson81 Not all of it. Dirk and Kiko both have writing credits on the new album. And Kiko doesn't get credited for writing the solos, no lead guitarist does. Metallica still has 3 of the 4 guys on the first album! Mustaine has had 18 plus members! He couldn't even have the original debut album lineup, Gar is dead and Chris can't withstand the touring. Nick is dead. Check Behler is washed. Marty wants to play Japanese Pop in Japan. I mean, Metallica deserves credit for keeping it basically the same since their debut! It 100% helps Mustaine to keep hiring younger guitarists and drummers.
@@MikeysMorgue mustaine suits all over Hetfield and Hammett. It's not close. He rights a majority of the music.
I liked Lux Aeterna instantly more, but I reckon this is growing on me really strongly after repeated listens. Absolutely LOVING both songs off the new album!
Lux Æterna definitely hooks you faster, but this song gets better on every listen. James sounds unreal in this song, so aggressive.
I kinda like this one because the riffs are pretty accessible, but Lux is the shit
The part your talking about sounds like old mercyful fate to me. That makes sense too .. big influence to them. Great song
Merciful Fate/King Diamond is very underrated nowadays. Listened the f**k out of it when I was younger, still to this day to be honest.
You can also hear a little bit of Motörhead there :D
Love James's vocals.
And what you said at the end is so true: we should be grateful for the fact that they are still making fast and heavy music at age 60.
before black album his vocal style would break throats but I think thats why these newer albums sound a bit weak
I'm glad you liked and reacted to it. The haters are out in full force. It gets better the more I listen, James sounds fantastic. The leads are the only thing I'm not big on, but whatever. Thanks Samus
never seen so much haters in my life coming out and talking shit 5 minutes after metallica drops a song
Fuckem
@@standardaussie it's not that. Metallica gets bandwagon hate for being themselves, I didn't care for Lux Aeternae, but this is killer like a mix of Load and Death Magnetic, definitely on the thrashier side.
Fuck em! These dudes are still rocking!
@@standardaussie he's right tho. It's perfectly OK to not like, but there are a lot of people that will hate it just because it's metallica. That or they go out of their way to show their hate knowing they won't like it to begin with. I actually disliked a reaction, not because it was negative, but because they dude paused it 5 times before the 3rd riff even finished to go on a rant about how trash it was. There's a big difference between not liking it, speaking your opinion, and being a hater.
I still love that both these new songs still have elements of their previous albums, obviously Lux had the Kill ‘Em All vibes but this really makes me think of Load/ReLoad and I fucking love it
I'm getting pangs of Master from the drums -- certainty for the first 3rd ... Bit of One, certainly the 'poppy' Load Influence but for a 30yr Band ... Not a Bad Refresh.
How the fuck do you hear killem all? This shit! You are trying to compare old thrash to a band that should have stopped putting albums sense and justice
Lux Æterna gave me Kill 'Em All vibes. Screaming Suicide feels more like something that should have been on Hardwired instead of "Am I Savage?"
I thought it was similar to Prince Charming.
Inamorata has some Load vibes too with the groovy riffs, with a bit of St. Anger and Hardwired.
@66Samus the kit isn't from the Justice tours - that was a Tama Granstar Custom in a blue/grey finish. The white kit is his signature Artstar II from the Black Album tours - I have one of the 25 signature kits. Sorry, I'm a Lars nerd haha!
What a banger this song is! And yeah, great to see him break out this kit again! 🤟
That snare drum sounds awesome!
Yea dude how its even possible i dont understand literally PERFECT sound
I'm digging the new stuff so far. We're not going to get Master of Puppets again, that's just fact. But we're getting some solid throwbacks to the stuff that influenced them, and that ain't bad. Good stuff!
You can't make an 11/10 twice. That's not how things are
I Hope we never get another master of puppets, they already done that.
@@michakrzyzanowski8554 i would say they did on AJFA
I love the positive vibes in the reaction. Genuine and welcoming. Keep it up brother 🙏🏼
thank you!!
I love how they always comes up with someting VERY different than the people expects, i can't wait to hear the whole album
That new song was giving me some classic early to mid 90s Metallica vibes. Good to see them going back to roots with a bit of new flair mixed in! Thanks for reacting to this, dude 🤘🎶
That has been every song of theirs for years and every time people go WOOHOO they're going back to their roooots
@@reezlaw ok?
Re-Load sound with more aggression. James also sounds so powerful here, you can tell how much this song means to him.
When Metallica post-1991 is not compared to Metallica 81-91, you can enjoy them so much more if you're someone who values their early work on such a high echelon.
Kirk doesn't seem to challenge himself like he used to (and I wonder if arthritis limits his creative drive). Lars is....Lars, and that drumkit definitely deserved a shout-out.
But like 66Samus says, it's just awesome that they're making new music altogether.
This is his best vocals since load.
you don't get extra points for technicality. Songwriting does.
It means more money to James
@@bendow5518 why are people so mad when someone makes more money than them?
I love how Metallica came back to being Metallica.
Serious question. How is this wah pedal Kirk stuff "Back" to metallica? This is a way more bluesy sound. This sounds like most of Metallica the last 30 years and nothing like 1988 and prior Metallica.
@@59thfsaviation79 did you listen first 5 albums??
@@sixbrokeneggs of course. I bowed out after load.
@@59thfsaviation79 So, then how don't you see the similarity between this sound and everything before Reload. Before that awful metallic trashcan that Lars was passing for drums, the shit distortion they were using trying to be Numetal? I mean, Metallica isn't just a Wah pedal... And seriously? Hamemtt was born hugging a Wah pedal man haha
@@59thfsaviation79 Serious answer, Kirk has used a wah pedal since Kill 'Em All. And LITERALLY every album since then. No Remorse, Fight Fire With Fire, Battery, And Justice For All, Enter Sandman....the list goes on and on. The wah pedal has ALWAYS been part of Kirk's sound!
Agreed, the first sec I heard the song I thought this was a sound mix of Load/Reload and Hardwire. And agreed the visuals looked like the album covers of Load/ReLoad
Too many people are stuck in the 80s. Life is a journey, and I personally enjoy watching Metallica and their many seasons.
But this is a rerun
168 Seasons.
Let me guess, your Load CD is right next to your Alanis Morrisette collection.
@@eq1373 however did you know ! 😮😱🤯
really love lars' drumming on these songs. He keeps it simple for the most part but he does exactly what the music needs.
You are 100 percent correct brother. While this is simple it fits with these guitars and the melodic feeling of this song which is honestly better than complexity or speed
And that is why he is a fucking master in my book.
💯 Lars one of the best
@@shawnamericanrebel5676 Lol no. Couldn't be further from the truth.
@@NahhNahh Lars and James have built arguably the world's greatest band. And all you have done is talk sh!t on YT
I'm glad Metallica is still rocken it. Old men still playing gives me hope 👍
never heard of the rolling stones, huh? James and Kirk will be old and dusty still banging out the hits
So far, I'm loving what I've heard in the last two songs. You can hear the old school metal influences, and I'm loving it!
Love your videos, dude! So cool to see another true Metallica fan enjoying that we still have them around
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the double-bass accents during the main riff that changed to snare accents in the last half of the tune. This tune has some of the best drumming I’ve heard from Lars in years.
exactly my thoughts! I was inlove with the double pedal accents from the first listen of the song
Soooooo good! The more I listen to this song the more obsessed I become. The greatest band! Great reaction, duder. 🤘
"The one thats leading with the snares"
Gives me such No W by Ministry vibes! Killer track!
I'm not a Metallica fan but I can appreciate their legacy (and tracks like One are classics, ofcourse). That being said I like these new tracks! They may be a bit 'tame' or 'by the books' but they're fun!
Dude I said the same thing when I seen the kit in lux, I was like ahhhhhhhhh. I learned drums to the live shit binge and purge box so that kit will always hold the place
So far with Lux Aeterna and Screaming Suicide, I am so looking forward to the new album.
I hope it will be good. I never really cared much for Hardwired.
@@leadnsteel1428 While I liked some songs on Hardwired, I think Death Magnetic was a more solid album as far as what they've put out recently.
Can't wait to see them live next year!
I'm with you man, I'm glad to hear new stuff, and it does remind me in all the good ways of justice era.
It's got some old school vibes mixed with a new style twist. Love the way that snare drum sounds and James' voice is sounding better than ever.
I miss Lar's sparkle Tama sets but this is nostalgic. Great riffs, so I'll rate it an 11... and that's HALF of Twenta Twoooooooo !!! 🤘
You’re literally the only person who thinks that
Great! Metallica are like good Italian food. A few, simple, high-quality ingredients put together with expertise for incredible results. Seems easy to copy on paper, but very difficult to get right.
The video was BADASS and yours as well dude. Straight to the point, all metal, total badassness! 🤘😎🤘
That’s actually the Black Album tour kit🤘🏻
I love it, can’t wait for more!
There is a subtle hint of Sabbath's After Forever in the verses. Love it.
3.45 speed king(Deep Purple)
And then you have Kirk’s Speed King solo
Bro. My first time hearing this was on this video with you. Im pretty sure we had synchro reactions. Cool blast, riff, we made eye contact. ❤ \m/
I haven't listened to Metallica in a hot minute, but damn, what a song. I like it. Can't wait for the album
I get Re-Load vibes from this one and I'm loving it.
Can't wait for the full album
wow i really love this
Loved the white tama kit❤
Great video man! Ohhh yurrrr 1:46 I agree 💯
They still know how to do those sudden time changes.
It always blows my mind that people scream about how the don't sound the same as when they were 18. Of course they fuckin' don't, they're older, they've lived life, their bodies and minds have aged. You don't have to love everything they've done, I certainly don't, but I respect them for experimenting and not wanting to stay locked in a box of their fans' making. People are dynamic, we change all the fucking time, so why wouldn't the music they make? I'm interested in seeing where the rest of the album goes!
Love your channel
This song rocks hard!! The riffs are damn good! And that bass! Hell yeah 🤘🕺
Hey 66Samus just wanted to say that you’re an amazing drummer and UA-camr and keep the amazing work and making us all laugh I’m glad I’ve found your channel when I did as I’ve been depressed lately but watching your videos has made me laugh so much esperally the fart music videos never laughed that hard at a video and just wanted to say you awesome at what you do
thank you so much John!!
The tone is sick
Metallica feel like they have really found a new groove for themselves. Their recent work I've really enjoyed.
Love the 'Highway Star' quotes in the solo :)
I was scrolling by seen you were reacting to this song. I wanted to see if you also liked it. I agree with you this song is just a banger. I like it alot. Seems they spent some time on this. Not just throwing rhymes around. Killer track.
Powerfull bass from Rob, more please...
i recently bought this album and its such a kick ass just like this very energetic song about dealing with your inner demons
I got Ride The Lightning, Load, Death Magnetic and St. Anger Vibes I Fuckin love it!!
Rob’s bass cuts like BUTTERED CAVS👌
Cliff would be happy🤘
I love how Metallica always keeps the same sound. They know what works for them and they keep it. Whether you listen to their older stuff or newer, you can always tell it's Metallica just by the music itself before he even starts with vocals.
They know what they are doing. Metallica forever.
The more I listen, the more I solidify my feel for this band. Hope they keep it. Love them.
4:03 almost sounds like the start of the metal militia solo
Hey, Samus... Ya know. I agree with u when u said, i don't care if it doesn't sound like their old stuff.. Im just glad their still making music. U are right because the larger percentage of bands cant stick it out living life on the road for 3 decades or more..Their is No doubt they are True Pioneers and Legends of Metal in every sense of word.. Im Happy for them, it deserves to be commended and i commend the men of Metallica for their true love and commitment when it comes to the Metal World... And lastly deserving respect, for paving the way in a time when the Metal World was a hard profession to make a name in.. Little lone rising to the status as one of the BIGGEST household names in Metal History... Apologies for my lengthy ramble.. Ooh Yuurrrrrrrr!!!!!💀🤘
Lars with the old black and white kit is just friggin' money. I agree with your sentiments. When I saw it in Lux Aeterna I was stoked as hell.
I am digging this new Metallica material they look like they're having fun and kicking ass doing it
I love your channel and content bromigo! Thanks for all the great material! I learn a lot from your skillz! I love the positivity. There isn’t enough positivity in this world anymore. So thanks brother.
thank YOU Russ!!
Great song! You rock bro!!
i just loved the white drums lars used at least for the music videos in this album. hope they used it while they tour too.
Loving the new song!
Cool song! Waiting new album!
The drums that Lars Ulrich used on the "And Justice for All tour" I think was gray. Later on the Black Album tour it was the same, but White. The song sounds quite good. The sound of the snare is quite clean.
You are a real Metallica fan and i'm glad to feel exactly like you
KILLER VIDEO! CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THIS SONG! AMAZING INCREDIBLE VIDEO AND SONG! GLAD THEY'RE MAKING NEW MUSIC! LOVE THIS BAND!🎼💯🤘🔥🙏💕🎸🥁
Took a few listens, but I absolutely love this song
I'm happy I'm not the only one appreciating the white Tamas!
When will you make an album samus? Also loved the reaction ❤
I adore this song
Fun song to play on guitar. Love it
I love how metallica still has that old school thrash but newish sound
I have a feeling this is going to be amazing live!
If they can play it properly. Lux Aeterna didn’t go so well the first time lol
I believe Lars is using the actual kit used in the 80's, beginning of the 90's. Cause in the Lux Aeterna behind the scenes you can look at the some pieces under normal light and you can see cracks from all the beating it had during the time. Didn't expect that
Something I brought from my former hubby is the love for Metallica ❤️🙏
Good afternoon from New England...Now this song does it for me more than the first tune did...Lars is actually doing some pretty cool double bass fills in the first verses...Peace from the Northeast..✌️🤘
I love the intro
Dude, I really dig your style man. Super classy, I mean you can drum circles around Lars but yet all you've got to say is positive stuff. That's awesome.
gooda love the drums in this song
I've always loved the white drum set the best I've 🤘
This rips! Fun song to play on guitar, too! 🎸
love the pre-chorus part
Love it. Metallica is back again and im happy😁
In the guitar solo, Kirk plays part of Ritchie’s solo from Speed King. Nice tip of the hat!
My favourite parts are intro, bridge, breakdown and outro
Amazing song 🔝🤘🤘
love the intro 'new Metallica song, lets go' 😅
The cover art of Load is titled "Semen and blood". Which it is. And the re-load's is "Blood and piss" or something like that. Which it is.
I like James's voice amazing it holds
I love this song
3:07 Yes you're quite right, I think the piece of "art" they used was titled 'Semen & Blood'.......how lovely!!
I like your style already lol, fr tho awesome seeing Metallica still kicking and people reacting like you.
All these years following Samus, and I'm still waiting for his drum cover of Fear Factory - Powershifter 🧘
This is one hell of a song.
